Friday 18th July – Butterflies for Beginners

Learn about some of the common butterflies found in Hertfordshire! You will be looking at their life cycles, ecology, conservation status, and how to tell them apart from moths. Tuesday 22nd July – Story Crafts

In this two hour workshop you will take part in a range of activities linked to popular stories. You and your child/ren will create a Story Sack and make some resources, such as puppets, to go in it. During this workshop you will learn paper-based crafting techniques to create some small decorative boxes ideal for wrapping gifts or used as table setting etc.. Tuesdays, starting 4th November – Helping Your Child with Phonics

This course is designed to help adults understand what ‘phonics’ is and how phonics is taught in school from age 3-7 yrs old. You will gain confidence, new knowledge and skills for yourself whilst learning ways to help your child develop their phonics skills at home. They will explain different Phonics terms such as ‘digraph’ and ‘segmenting’. You will learn about the six phases of phonics and how children progress through each phase using engaging, interactive activities.
