Monday 21st July – Chatty Cafe

The ‘Chatter and Natter table’ is a wonderful way of encouraging people of all ages to talk to others. The table will be hosted by a friendly volunteer every Monday. Do come along and sit for a chat. Mondays from 12 noon – 1.30pm. At Kooky Nohmad, 42 High Street, Royston, SG8 9AG.


Wednesday 23rd July – Royston Outdoor Market

Royston Market Square, Market Hill, Royston, SG8 9JR. Royston Country Market sells home produced cakes, pies, biscuits, savouries, ready meals, marmalade, jams, chutneys, apple juice and eggs. Seasonal vegetables, fruits and plants. Every Wednesday and Saturday morning.


Thursday 24th July – Sunday 31st August – Secrets and Spies

This summer, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to train as a top-secret agent in this exciting, family-friendly spy school. Over an action-packed summer holiday, kids and grown-ups alike will unlock new spy skills, take on challenges, and complete top-secret missions together. Each week features a different spy skill, from decoding and disguise to stealth and surveillance. Thursday to Sunday from 10am – 4pm. Friday 25th July – Auction Valuation 

Curious about the value of your heirlooms or antiques? This informal and fun event is your chance to get your treasures assessed by an expert. Join Hansons experts and bring your gold, jewellery, silver, medals, coins, collectibles, and antiques to this weekly valuation day, with the option to consign them for their next auction.  No charge and no appointments needed—just drop by and find out how much your antiques are worth. Friday 25th July – LEGO Club

Each week will have a theme but if your child enjoys free play, that’s fine too. Children of 8 years and under must have an adult with them at all times. Fridays from 4pm – 5pm at Buntingford Library, 77 High Street, Buntingford, SG9 9AE.


Saturday 26th July – Royston Coffee Morning

Come along to this weekly Royston Coffee Morning meeting Saturdays from 10am – 11.30am, at Royston Parish Church. All welcome.


Sunday 27th July – Great Chishill Windmill: Open Day

Discover one of only seven open trestle postmills in the UK. Great Chishill Windmill opens twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Sunday from 10am – 4pm (last entry 3.30pm). Offering guided tours led by friendly volunteers. Enjoy scenic views and picnic areas. Free Entry (donations welcome). Future dates 10th and 24th August, 14th and 28th September.


Sunday 3rd August – Craft Fair

Pop along for some unique crafts and gift ideas. First Sunday of the month from 10am – 2pm. At Market Hill Rooms Fish Hill, Royston, SG8 9JL.


Wednesday 6th August – Royston Rocks Open Mic

First Wednesday of the month from 8pm – 11pm, an open mic at The Old Bull Inn, 56 High Street, Royston SG8 9AW.


Saturday 9th August – LEGO Club for Children

LEGO Club for Children at Royston Library, Market Hill, Royston, SG8 9JN. Second Saturday of each month from 2pm – 3pm. Places are limited, book at the library.


Wednesday 13th August – Royston Rotary Memory Cafe

Royston Rotary Memory Cafe meets every second Wednesday of the month from 10am – 12 noon. Providing support to folks with memory loss and their carers. Enjoy friendship, fun and games at Coombes Community Centre, Burns Road, Royston, SG8 5PT.


Saturday 16th August – Board Games

Sunday 17th August – Herts and Essex Country Fair

The Herts and Essex Country Fair, Dog and Heavy Horse Show is on Sunday 17th August. A fun day out for all the family. Wednesday 20th August – Safari Stu

Safari Stu provides an educational and fun event providing a hands on close encounter experience with with a variety of animals. Including Reptiles, Invertebrates and Mammals. Buntingford Fire Station Open Day, Station Road, Buntingford, SG9 9HU, is on Saturday 6th September from 10am – 3pm. With food stalls, safety advice, look around a fire engine and more.


Saturday 13th September – Family Fun Day

Saturday 20th September – Farewell to the Bunt: Exhibition

The Buntingford Railway and Local History Society is hosting a special exhibition on Saturday 20th September from 10am – 4pm, to mark 60 years since the final goods train rolled along the Buntingford Branch. Railway enthusiasts, history lovers, and visitors from near and far are invited to explore original station signs, rare photographs, historic documents, an N gauge model railway, and artefacts that bring the story of the Bunt to life.  This is a rare chance to experience the story of a line that connected communities for over a century. Saturday 8th November – Christmas Farmers and Gift Market

A magical day at this Christmas Farmers and Gift Market, where the festive spirit comes alive. With over 35 unique artisan stalls, you will discover handcrafted gifts and delicious local produce you will not find on the high street.
