Friday 2nd January – PCSO Surgery

Friendly, informed, safer neighbourhood advice from your local PCSO. Friday 2nd January from 11am – 1pm, at Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, Hatfield, AL10 0LD.


Saturday 3rd January – Book Swap

Come along and swap a book or a puzzle. Delicious home made cake and tea/coffee available to purchase. At North Mymms Memorial Hall, Station Roadd, Welham Green, AL9 7PG. Saturday 3rd January from 10am – 12 noon.


Sunday 4th January – Junior Parkrun

A free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for juniors 4-14 year olds. The event takes place at Birchwood Leisure Centre, Longmead, Birchwood, Hatfield, AL10 0AN. Every Sunday from 9am, every week they grab a post parkrun coffee at the leisure centre café.


Monday 5th January – Stay and Play

A fun session with various activities and resources for children. There’s a special area for babies with family support staff available to help, plus the chance to socialise with other parents and carers. Siblings Welcome. Chargeable drop in, £2.50 per family. Mondays from 10am – 11.30am, at Breaks Manor Community Centre, Link Drive, Hatfield, AL10 8TP.


Monday 5th January – Baby Group

Meet other families with young babies and the Family Support Team in a friendly environment. During this session there will be time to play and discover more about your baby’s development as well as support your wellbeing as a new parent. Mondays from 10am – 11.30am, at De Havilland Family Centre, Hatfield, AL10 8TQ. Chargeable drop in, £1.50 per family.


Tuesday 6th January – Coffee Morning

Coffee morning on the first Tuesday of every month from 10.30am – 12.30pm at the Community Room, ASDA, Town Centre, Hatfield, AL10 0JP.


Wednesday 7th January – Colouring Club

Colouring Club for adults at Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, Hatfield, AL10 0LD. Materials supplied or bring your own. Drop in, no need to book. Every Wednesday from 1pm – 3pm.


Thursday 8th January – Chatty Cafe

The ‘Chatter and Natter table’ is a wonderful way of encouraging people of all ages to talk to others. Do come along and sit for a chat. Thursdays from 11am – 1pm, at Roe Hill Hall Community Hub, Briars Lane, Hatfield, AL10 8EY.


Thursday 8th January – Active Rhyme Time

Fun, active rhymes and songs for your baby and toddler. A great way to meet other families and develop your child’s communication and physical skills. At De Havilland Family Centre, Hatfield, AL10 8TQ. Chargeable drop in, £2.50 per family. Thursdays from 1.30pm – 2.30pm.

Saturday 17th January – Book Sale and Signing + Judo Demonstration 

Join Café Dutch, The Dutch Marketplace, Great North Road, Brookmans Park, Hatfield, AL9 6ND, for a fantastic community event as they welcome a local author for a book sale and signing, along with a special Judo demonstration by Kimura Judo Club. Come along, meet the author, pick up a signed copy, and enjoy the energy and skill of a live judo demo. A great outing for book lovers, families, and anyone who loves supporting local talent. Free entry, all welcome. Saturday 17th January from 11.30am.


Friday 20th March – Cyber crime and Fraud Awareness

This free drop-in event features talks from Hertfordshire Police, Hertfordshire County Council Trading Standards and Beacon Victim Care, as well as opportunities to ask questions of cyber and fraud crime prevention experts. Get advice on keeping your devices and accounts safe through passwords and 2-step verification, get better at spotting phishing and social engineering, keep up to date with the latest online, phone, email and text scams, and more. Friday 20th March from 10.45am – 3.30pm. At Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, Town Centre, Hatfield, AL10 0LD.


Saturday 12th September – Firework Champions

Get ready for an incredible night of colour, music, and sky-filling pyrotechnics as Firework Champions returns to the historic Hatfield Park, Hatfield AL9 5HX. With its grand parkland setting and centuries of heritage, Hatfield provides a stunning backdrop for one of the UK’s most exciting firework competition events. Three of the UK’s leading professional firework companies will each deliver a 10-minute fully choreographed display synced perfectly to music. After all three teams have shown what they can do, the night concludes with a huge, dazzling finale display that lights up the whole park. After the final competitor has performed, you will vote for your favourite display by text, helping to crown the next Firework Champion at Hatfield Park. To book click here
