Sunday 7th December – Winter Art Exhibition
Packed with beautiful and vibrant paintings which would make wonderful Christmas gifts. This winter art exhibition is on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December from 10am – 4pm. At The Lucy Kemp-Welch Gallery next to St James’ Church, Bushey.

Sunday 7th December – South Oxhey Market
Every Sunday from 9.30am – 3.30pm the South Oxhey Market, is proudly organised by Watford Rural Parish Council. The market is more than just a shopping destination, it is a social hub, a place where neighbours meet, families gather, and friendships grow. Set against the lively backdrop of our parish, it’s where the community comes alive every Sunday. The market brings together an ever-growing selection of local traders offering everything from fresh produce and handcrafted goods to world cuisine and unique finds you will not see on the high street. Supporting the market means supporting local business owners, creative artisans, and hardworking food vendors.
This market is not being run for profit. Watford Rural Parish Council is committed to creating a welcoming space for the community to enjoy and for traders to thrive. Any money raised goes directly back into running and improving the market, supporting local initiatives, and building something sustainable for the long term.

Sunday 7th December – Christmas Fair
Join CLP Arts and Crafts at St Martin’s Church, Muirfield Road, South Oxhey, WD19 6JD, on Sunday 7th December from 11am – 3pm, for our very popular Christmas fair. Entry is £1 per person. The hall will be full of hand crafted items, made and sold by local sellers for you to treat yourself and your loved ones. There will be home made cake and hot drinks for sale, so do come and support your local charity.

Sunday 7th December – Christingle
Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate the meaning of Advent and Christmas in this family friendly service. Come dressed in your favourite festive jumpers or outfits and enjoy singing some of the best loved carols of the season. The collection will be for the Children’s Society, here in the UK, helping those families less fortunate than ourselves to have a happy and meaningful Christmas. Sunday 7th December from 4pm – 5pm, at St James’s Church, High Street, Bushey.

Tuesday 9th December – Christmas Bingo
Christmas Bingo with free nibbles, music, raffles and Name the Teddy. Members and their signed in guests or you can join on the night. Tuesday 9th December from 7.4pm. At Labour Club, Henbury Way, South Oxhey, WD19 7AP.

Wednesday 10th December – Walking Group
Monthly themed walking group on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 2pm. You can join in with the theme as much or as little as you want or just come along for a stroll and a chat. All walks start and finish at Bushey Library, Sparrows Herne, WD23 1FA. No need to book. Ask in the library for more details.

Friday 12th December – Santa
Santa is returning for a visit to the Labour Club, Henbury Way, South Oxhey, WD19 7AP, on Friday 12th December from 4 – 8pm. There will be 80 spaces available at the price of £8 per child. Every child will receive a gift. The Small bar will be transformed into a calm magical space for your child to have a few minutes talking to Santa. The spaces available will be on a first come first serve basis and your child’s place will be secured by you popping in and paying upfront. They will need your child’s name and age and your number and they will contact you nearer the time to give your time slot.

Saturday 13th December – Christmas Market
Christmas market at The Red Lion, High Street, Bushey WD23 3HN, on Saturday 13th December from 11am – 3pm. With gifts, crafts and food. Free entry.

Saturday 13th December – Christmas with Watford Philharmonic Society
Join the choir and orchestra of Watford Philharmonic Society for an evening of traditional carols and contemporary Christmas songs and chances for you to join in and sing with them. Classic Christmas carols and festive music, at Grand Hall, The Bushey Arena, London Road, Bushey, WD23 3AA. Saturday 13th December from 7pm – 9.30pm. To book click here

Sunday 28th December – Family Pantomime: Rapunzel
Join the Magical Story Elves team for a delightful retelling of the classic fairy tale, Rapunzel. Follow Rapunzel, Dame Gertie, and Fairy Twinkle on a captivating adventure filled with music, audience participation, sing-alongs, and humour. Tuesday 30th December – Festive Family Fun
Enjoy a fun session with festive crafts, songs, and games for under 5s, with plenty of activities for older siblings up to age 8 too.

Looking for a warm, welcoming space to connect with other parents? Join this weekly baby group. Each session is led by caring Early Years professionals ready to support and guide you. Mondays from 10am – 11.30am, at South Oxhey Family Centre, Oxhey Wood Primary School, Northwick Road, South Oxhey, Watford, WD19 6NL. Chargeable drop in, £1.50 per family.

Monday 5th January – Baby Group
Meet other families with young babies and the Family Support Team in a friendly environment. During this session there will be time to play and discover more about your baby’s development as well as support your wellbeing as a new parent. Mondays from 1.15pm – 2.45pm. Tuesday 6th January – Active Rhyme Time

Wednesday 7th January – Craft Group

Saturday 17th January – Hello Baby Pregnancy Club
Hello Baby Pregnancy Club is open to all pregnant women in the local area. These events are a great opportunity to meet other mums-to-be and hear from guest speakers and experts. They are delighted to welcome guest speaker Louise from Birth Balm who is a former midwife and an experienced Placenta Specialist making placenta pills and tinctures to aid emotional / physical postnatal recovery. Thursday 29th January – CompassionART Café
Held at Oxhey Library, Bridlington ROAd, South Oxhey, WD19 7AG, run in partnership with Three Rivers District Council Healthy Hub. This CompassionART Café will take place on the last Thursday of every month from 1.30pm – 3pm. CompassionART Cafés are drop-in sessions that provide a safe space for people to come together and express themselves through art. They are aimed at anyone who has experienced bereavement, and those who might be lonely due to illness. The sessions include a guided arts and crafts activity and provide a safe space to chat and connect with others, share memories and create lasting connections over a cup of tea.
