Thursday 2nd May – Knit and Natter

Casual meet up of people to do knitting or crochet while having a natter along the way, at Oxhey Library, Bridlington Road, South Oxhey, WD19 7AG. Thursdays from 10am – 11am.


Saturday 4th May – Compassionate Cafe

A drop-in session, in partnership with Red Trust Bushey. It provides a space for members of our community who have been affected by any type of loss and would like to come along for a friendly chat and a chance to meet others over a cup of tea. Do join them and feel free to bring a friend or family member along. At Red Café, Phoenix Centre, Farrington Avenue, Bushey, WD23 3DG. Every first Saturday of the month from 11.30am – 1.30pm.


Saturday 4th May – Board Games Night

Join an evening filled with laughter, strategy, and fun. Saturday 4th May from 7pm, at King George Recreation Ground Bushey Bowling Club. From classic board games to thrilling card battles, there’s something for everyone. Bring your friends, bring your family, and let the games begin. Choose from a selection of 35 great board games and many card games or bring your own. Refreshments and bar snacks can be purchased from the bar. Contact [email protected]

Saturday 11th May –  Annual Model Railway Exhibition

The 42nd Annual Model Railway Exhibition will be on Saturday 11th May from 10am – 4.30pm. At Queens’ School, Aldenham Road, Bushey, WD23 2TY.


Saturday 11th May –  Hello Baby Pregnancy Club

Hello Baby Pregnancy Club is open to all pregnant women in the local area. These events are a great opportunity to meet other mums-to-be and hear from guest speakers and experts. Their very own Chloe will be speaking about hypnobirthing, what it entails and how it can help you experience a truly positive birth. She will also be able to answer any questions. Monday 13th May – Over 50’s Badminton

Take it at your own pace, enjoy the social aspect, meet new people and above all, stay healthy and moving. Do not worry if you d0 not have a racket, everything you need will be provided. IT Champions offer one-to-one support, problem-solving, and online safety advice for users of the library computers and WiFi. At Bushey Library, Sparrows Herne, Bushey, WD23 1FA. Every Monday from 2.30pm – 4.30pm.


Tuesday 14th May – Cuppa and Catch Up

Fortnightly Cuppa and Catch up sessions for the entire Bushey Community. Tuesday from 10am – 12 noon (2nd and 4th of the month) At SRMD London Spiritual Centre, Falconer Road, Bushey, WD23 3AD.


Sunday 19th May – Hertfordshire Big Band

The Hertfordshire Big Band perform at a free all day fringe event of the Watford Jazz Junction Festival, for all the family across the pubs of Oxhey Village. Catch the band at The Victoria pub, The Victoria, 39 Chalk Hill, WD19 4BU. Sunday 19th May from 3.30pm. To book click here


Sunday 26th May – Gardening Fair

Come and join this fair on Sunday 26th May from 9am – 2pm, there will be children activities, Eco friendly goods, local food vendors and more. At Carpenders Park Community Hall, Station Footpath / Gibbs Couch, Watford, WD19 5EG.


Tuesday 28th – Friday 31st May – Elms Activity Camps

This camp provides superb activity camps for children aged 5-11 years, offering exciting, safe and action-packed Camps. They offer a range of sports and activities at Ashfield Junior School, School Lane, Bushey, WD23 1SR. Tuesday 28th – Friday 31st May. Open to all children from the local area aged 5-11 years.


Saturday 1st June – Family D-Day Celebration

Watford Rural Parish Council are putting on their Summer Family Fun Day a bit earlier this year to join with the nation in celebrating the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. They will have a 1940’s live singer and prizes for the best Fancy Dress (for children, though Adults are welcome to join in) as well as all the usual children’s fairground rides and games. All proceeds collected go to The Royal British Legion and the local Food bank. Saturday 1st June from 11am – 3pm, at Market Square, South Oxhey, WD19 7EU (opposite Tesco)


Saturday 8th June – Summer Fayre

The Oxhey Village Summer Fayre will be back for its 48th edition on Saturday 8th June from 1pm. There will be dozens of stalls, Food and drink, entertainment, fun and games. At Oxhey Village Green, Lower Paddock Road, WD19 4GU.


Tuesday 11th June – Baby Fair

Baby Fair events are for expectant parents or parents of a child under 1 year, bringing together everything you need to give your baby the best start. If you are pregnant, meet other expectant parents and pick up some pre-loved baby clothes. Tuesday 11th June from 1pm – 3pm. At The Bushey Centre, High Street, Bushey, WD23 1TT.


Saturday 15th June – A Night on Broadway

Watford Pride Picnic is the first event of it’s kind in Watford, organised by Impactful Lives. It is a free event, just bring a picnic and they will provide the entertainment. The event will be led by LGBTQ+ communities and is for everyone to enjoy. Saturday 15th June from 12 noon. At Watford Heath, Watford, WD19 4EU. For further details click here


Saturday 29th June – Summer Fayre

St Meryl School in Carpenders Park, The Mead, WD19 5BT are hosting a Summer Fete on Saturday 29th June from 12 noon – 3pm. There will be games, inflatables, stalls, refreshments and more.


Saturday 29th June – A Night on Broadway
