Tuesday 21st April – Charter Market

Ware Charter Market bringing together a selection of vendors and traders at this regular Tuesday Charter Market. Taking place at Tudor Square and surrounding streets every Tuesday from 10am – 4pm. Come and support small businesses, and experience the charm of our community.


Friday 24th April – Ware Country Market

Weekly Country Market with plenty of goods on offer from local bakers, producers and makers all under one roof. Fridays from 9am – 12 noon. At Leaside Church and Community Centre, High Street, Ware, SG12 9BT.


Saturday 25th April – Westmill Parkrun

A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog or run. The event takes place at Three Lakes Campsite, Westmill Farm, Ware, SG12 0ES. Every week they grab a post parkrun coffee in the Three Lakes Restaurant. Saturdays from 9am, for further information click here


Sunday 26th April – Farmers and Craft Market

A magical pop-up event celebrating the best of Hertfordshire’s local makers, bakers and creators. Held at the picturesque Dane End Christmas Tree Farm, High View, Farm Green End Lane, Dane End, Ware, SG12 0FF. Expect a vibrant collection of artisan stalls featuring handmade crafts, seasonal produce, and unique gifts. Delicious treats from local bakers and food producers. Live music to set the spring mood and a cosy cafe on-site for hot drinks and homemade bites. Sunday 26th April from 10am – 3pm.


Sunday 26th April – Table Top Sale

Whether you are hunting for a bargain, having a clear out, or just fancy a browse and a cuppa, come along to this table top sale every last Sunday of the month from 10am – 2pm. Until the end of November. At Stanstead Abbotts and St Margarets Village Club, High Street, Stanstead Abbotts, Ware, SG12 8AB.


Sunday 26th April – The Stan Tracey Centennial Quintet

Celebrate the music of Stan Tracey, one of the most important figures in British jazz. As a pianist and composer, Stan Tracey’s work shaped the UK jazz scene for more than six decades.  The quintet plays Stan’s tunes with precision and heart. Clark is joined by two leading players. Mark Nightingale on trombone brings rich tone and strong phrasing. Simon Allen on sax brings sharp lines and expressive solos. Monday 27th April – Colouring and Craft Club

Join Ware Library, High Street, Ware, SG12 9BA, in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere to work on your own drawings, mindful colouring or craft. Free, with donations welcome. Mondays from 10.30am – 12 noon.


Monday 27th April – Guitar Club

The guitar club will be running on the last Monday of the month from 7.30pm – 10.30pm, at Southern Maltings, Kibes Lane, Ware, SG12 7BS. It is perfect for ex pros to first timers. Get advice from people who know, love and understand music. Resident bass, drummer and lead guitarist available to play with, or back you, if needed. With a full working set up. Wednesday 29th April – Splatter and Natter

A relaxed and creative evening as you capture the charm of Scotland’s most iconic resident, the Highland Cow. With its shaggy coat, sweeping horns, and irresistible character, this painting is a joy to create and guaranteed to make you smile. Enjoy great company, and follow easy step-by-step guidance to bring this delightful creature to life on canvas. Thursday 30th April – Maltings Stitch Café

Maltings Stitch Café is a fortnightly drop-in group for those seeking to stitch, make new friends and share ideas. Whether your style is embroidery or machine stitching, felting or tapestry, everyone is welcome to this friendly group. All levels are welcome too, whether you are a novice with a needle or an expert seamstress. You can bring your own projects to work on, whilst socialising in the Café, with a cuppa. This is a drop in session open to all, with no need to book. Thursdays fortnightly from 10am – 1pm, at  Southern Maltings. Kibes Lane, Ware, SG12 7BS, next is 14th May


Friday 8th May – Ware Poets

The first half of this event will be open mic, so please feel free to bring and read a poem in a friendly and welcoming space. Mary Mulholland is the author of the elimination game (Broken Sleep Books, 2025), What the sheep taught me (Live Canon, 2022) and two collaborations with Simon Maddrell and Vasiliki Albedo. Saturday 9th May – Paper Pets Collage Workshop

A chance to enshrine your pooch or kitty in paper collage, and create a pet portrait of your favourite furry friend to keep forever. This workshop is all about your best furry friend or pampered pet. Whether you are a dog person, a cat person (or you love your lizard or budgie). Creating art with paper is fun and accessible to everyone, whether you consider yourself to be an artist or not. Anyone can create amazing results which are one of a kind. All you need to bring to the workshop is your chosen image of your pet, either printed out or on your phone or tablet. Sunday 17th May – The Tudor Square Market

The Tudor Square Markets will be on the 3rd Sunday of the Month from 10am – 2pm. It will feature many of the regular stalls from the inside markets at Southern Maltings, together with some new stalls and street food too. Expect gorgeous locally made artisan food, drink and crafts from the best local makers and small independent producers and businesses, right on your doorstep in Ware. Not on in July, August or December.


Saturday 23rd May – Adventures in Wonderland

Join Ware Library, High Street, Ware, SG12 9BA, on Saturday 23rd May from 10am – 12 noon, for a Wonderland adventure. They will have crafts and activities based on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland for children aged 3+. This event is free to attend, with donations welcome.


Saturday 23rd May – Artisan Craft Fair

Folk and Bespoke prides itself as being different, they aim to be a unique shopping experience, a celebration of small independent businesses and time served craftspeople. Free entry, at Ware Drill Hall, 17 Amwell End, Ware, SG12 9HP, Saturday from 10am – 3pm.


Tuesday 26th May – Dragonflies of Amwell

A guided walk through this beautiful wildlife haven. As you explore the reserve, you will be introduced to some of the species of dragonflies and damselflies that call this reserve home, learn how to identify common species and start to understand their remarkable life cycles. Along the way, you will gain insight into the carefully managed habitats that help these stunning insects thrive and hear about the conservation work that makes Amwell such a special place for wildlife. This relaxed and informative walk covers approximately 1 mile along a mixture of surfaced paths and grass, passing through kissing gates as you journey through the reserve. Perfect for nature lovers, budding wildlife enthusiasts, and anyone curious to learn more about Amwell’s dragons. Suitable for ages 10+. Friday 29th May – Herts Rivers Week Storytime

Join Ware Library, High Street, Ware, SG12 9BA, on Friday 29th May from 10.30am – 11am, for a very special Storytime session. They will be celebrating all things rivers in the beautiful River Lea inspired children’s library, as it is Herts Rivers Week. They will have river themed stories and rhymes, with a special craft activity too. Storytime is free to attend, however spaces are limited, so they recommend arriving early.


Sunday 7th June – Art and Craft Market

This Art and Craft Market is a wonderful, colourful and joyfully vibrant celebration of the original works of the very best local creatives, designers, and makers. The market will be held indoors at Southern Maltings, Kibes Lane, Ware, SG12 7BS, and outdoors in the Malt Garden on Sunday 7th June from 10am – 3pm. Explore two floors packed with a great variety of original and local artists and take home something unique for yourself, a gift for a friend and the inspiration to tap into your own creativity.


Friday 12th June – Ware Poets

The first half of this event will be open mic, so please feel free to bring and read a poem in a friendly and welcoming space. Jackson Phoenix is a queer transgender poet and lecturer from Essex. Sunday 28th June – Sarah Ellen Hughes Quartet

Award-winning vocalist Sarah Ellen Hughes brings her incredible talent to Jazz @ Southern Maltings in what promises to be an unforgettable performance. Known for her swinging interpretations of jazz standards, Sarah’s unique style blends technical mastery with heartfelt connection. Sarah will be joined by her quartet, featuring some of the finest musicians in the UK jazz scene. As a local artist with roots in the area, this event carries a special resonance, celebrating both her outstanding artistry and her connection to the community. Sunday 28th June from 3pm – 5pm. Friday 17th July – Ware Poets

Everyone is welcome to this informal and celebratory event. There will be readings of competition’s winning and commended poems, followed by a special reading from this year’s judge Keith Jarrett. Tickets can be bought in advance or on the door. Entry prices are £5; £3 for students under 24; Free to ages 18 and under. Free entry for Competition prizewinners and commended poets. Saturday 18th July – Mentley Farm Lavender Summer Celebration

A wonderful Family Day in the Lavender Fields. Enjoy a relaxing day surrounded by stunning lavender fields, featuring artisan stalls showcasing unique local crafts, a BBQ and delicious cakes and treats along with entertainment for all ages. Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th November – Christmas Winterfest Market

Southern Maltings, Kibes Lane, Ware, SG12 7BS, will be packed to the rafters with two floors of curated, handpicked stalls with unique, handmade or boutique gifts and local produce, from makers, artists and small, local independent businesses. With approximately 45 stallholders. They will showcase local high-quality art, local produce and crafts, Christmas decorations and wreaths, toys, books, jewellery, handcrafted homeware and other small, local boutique businesses. Start your Christmas shopping early for all your shopping needs, and make Christmas 2026 extra special with a visit to this Christmas Winterfest Market. Food and drinks also available including mulled wine and mince pies. Entry is free but as a local charity operating in our community donations are always very welcome. Tickets are not required. Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th November from 10am – 3pm.
