Wednesday 1st May – Compassionate Café

Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care is delighted to bring you this Compassionate Café, run in partnership with Loaves and Fishes Café at Christ Church Little Heath, Great North Road, Potters Bar, EN6 1JNB. The café will run every Wednesday from 10am – 12 noon, and provides a space for local people who have been affected by bereavement or any kind of loss to meet others by coming together for a cuppa and a chat.


Wednesday 1st May – CreativiTEA

Bring your own craft and materials and enjoy a cuppa and a chat at this Craft Group. Meeting the first Wednesday of every month from 1pm – 3.30pm. At Oakmere Library, High Street, Potters Bar, EN6 5BZ.


Thursday 2nd May – Under 5’s Storytime

Join Oakmere Library, High Street, Potters Bar, EN6 5BZ, for stories and songs every Thursday from 11am – 11.30am. No need to book.


Thursday 2nd May – Compassionate Cafe

This café will run every first and third Thursday of the month from 2pm – 4pm at and provides a space for local people who have been affected by bereavement or any kind of loss to meet others by coming together for a cuppa and a chat. At Shenley Road Community Hub, Borehamwood, WD6 1EB.


Saturday 4th May – Adult Parkrun 

Adult parkrun at Aldenham Country Park, Aldenham Road, Radlett, Borehamwood, WD6 3BA, every Saturday from 9am. Completely free and accessible to all, it is a 5k race for all the family. At Simply visit their website and sign up click here


Saturday 4th May – Parkplay

ParkPlay is a national project that runs every Saturday from 10am – 12 noon. and is completely free to attend. They aim to encourage families to participate together across generations and get involved in game activities. All their games are inclusive and can be played across a range of ages in a way that keeps thing safe and most importantly fun for all the family. There are no age restrictions to any of their projects but say if they can walk, they can play. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Saturday 4th May – Ukulele Club

Come along to this ukulele club and make music together with new friends. Open to ages 7-11 years, but places are limited. Saturday 4th May from 1.30pm – 2.15pm. At Oakmere Library, High Street, Potters Bar, EN6 5BZ.


Sunday 5th May – Junior Parkrun 

Taking place at the Furzefield Leisure Centre, Mutton Lane, Potters Bar, EN6 3BW, the new junior parkrun is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for juniors aged 4 to 14 years old. It is held every Sunday at 9am. For further information click here


Sunday 5th May – SENsory Sunday Circle

A space for neurodiverse children and siblings to explore with art, sensory, music, lights and virtual reality. Each child is paired with a teenage buddy to give them attention and confidence for a fun, interactive and immersive experience. Bringing smiles and friendship. Sunday 5th May from 2.30pm – 3.30pm. Tuesday 7th May – Citizens Advice Drop In

Citizens Advice Drop In every Tuesday from 10am – 3pm, at The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue, Radlett, WD7 8HL.


Tuesday 7th May – IT Champions

IT Champions offer one-to-one support, problem-solving, and online safety advice for users of the library computers and WiFi. At Borehamwood Library, 96 Shenley Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1EB. Every Tuesday from 2pm – 4pm.


Wednesday 8th May – The Rummikub Runners

A friendly group, where people get together to play games of rummikub. All ages welcome. At Allum Manor House, 2 Allum Lane, Elstree, Borehamwood, WD6 3PJ. Every other Wednesday from 2.30pm – 4.30pm. Next is 22nd May.


Friday 10th May – Compost Giveaway

Join Hertsmere on Friday 10th May from 10am – 1pm, at Newberries car park in Radlett, WD7 7JH for a giveaway of 10 tonnes of steaming compost. As a thank you for recycling your food and garden waste, they will be giving it away for free. Simply bring along your own compost bags/rubble sacks.

To ensure they can provide a safe and fair event for everyone they will be filling bags, so please leave your shovels at home. Bags are limited to two, per person present at the event, based on a 50ltr sack. Any other bags or containers will be filled by them with an equivalent amount. 


Monday 13th May – SEND Chat and Play

These Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Chat and Play sessions are a great opportunity to come and meet other families going through a similar journey, in a relaxed environment. The SEND Champions are on hand to talk about the services they offer, signpost to different organisations or to simply act as a listening ear. All are welcome whether your child is diagnosed or you are concerned about a possible need. They have toys out for the children or you can come by yourself.

Monday 15th April from 10am – 11am. Next sessions, 3rd and 17th June, 1st, 15th and 29th July. At The BECC Family Centre, off Shakespeare Drive, Furzehill Road, Borehamwood, WD6 2FD.


Monday 13th May – Baby Rhyme Time

These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are an opportunity for you to meet other families too. Every Monday from 10am – 10.30am and 11am – 11.30am. At Borehamwood Library, 96 Shenley Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1EB.


Wednesday 15th May – Local History Talk

Local talk on the early history of Potters Bar High Street, at Oakmere Library, High Street, Potters Bar, EN6 5BZ. Wednesday 15th May from 10.30am. Book at the library.


Saturday 25th May – Mum2mum Market

Come and shop pre loved, good condition all things baby, kids and maternity with 20 stalls to browse. Refreshments and snacks available. At Maxwell Park Community Centre, Maxwell Road, Borehamwood, MD6 1JJ, Saturday 25th May from 2pm – 4pm.
