Wednesday 16th September – Herts Musical Memories

Herts Musical Memories sessions bring people together through the power of music, memories and singing. Whether you are living with dementia, supporting a loved one, or simply enjoy singing and meeting new people, these friendly sessions are a wonderful opportunity to sing along, share memories and enjoy time together. Thursday 17th September – Storytime

Join Oakmere Library, High Street, Potters Bar, EN6 5BZ, for stories and songs every Thursday from 11am – 11.30am. No need to book. Free event. Until at least 17th December.


Saturday 19th September – Car Boot Sale

Car boot sale held at The Events Field, Aldenham Road, Elstree, WD6 3BD. Open Every Saturday from 7am – 1pm (weather permitting) from April to October. 


Saturday 19th September – Aldenham Parkrun

A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog or run. The event takes place at Aldenham Country Park, Aldenham Road, Elstree, WD6 3BA. Every Saturday from 9am. For further information click here


Saturday 19th September – Elstree and Borehamwood Dog Show

Come along to Meadow Park on Saturday 19th September from 12 noon – 4pm, for the Elstree and Borehamwood Dog Show, hosted by Beauty Barks Pet Styling and Spa. Dog Show Classes from 1pm, plus free kids’ rides, market stalls, food stalls, plenty of four-legged friends, free entry. There is no need to pre-register your dog, simply come along and register at the Bandstand on the day.


Sunday 20th September – Meadow Park: Junior Parkrun

Junior parkrun is a free, fun and friendly 2k walk, jog or run for children aged 4-14, taking place every Sunday from 9am at Meadow Park, Brook Road, Borehamwood, WD6 5HQ. It is a great way for young people to get active, enjoy the outdoors and build confidence, with families encouraged to come along and support.


Sunday 20th September – Junior Parkrun

A free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for juniors 4-14 year olds. Held every Sunday from 9am, at Furzefield Leisure Centre, Mutton Lane, Potters Bar, EN6 3BW. Every week they grab a post parkrun coffee at the Furzefield Leisure Centre Café. For further information click here

Monday 21st September – NHS Health Check

If you’re aged 40-74, an NHS Health Check can help identify early signs of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and dementia. It is free, quick and could help you stay healthier for longer. At the Community Hub, 5 Leeming Road, Borehamwood, on Monday 21st September.


Wednesday 23rd September – Dementia Workshop

Join Meadowhill Care Home, Castleford Close, Borehamwood, WD6 4AL, for an opportunity to experience, first-hand, some of the challenges a person living with dementia may face in their everyday life. Through an immersive experience, you will gain an insight into what it can feel like to complete everyday tasks, communicate, make decisions and even experience mealtimes while living with dementia. This specialist dementia training is delivered by their Group Training Manager, Maria, who has completed specialist immersive dementia training with Training2Care. This training enables Maria to deliver an experience designed to help people better understand dementia by experiencing situations from the perspective of someone living with the condition. Whether you’re supporting a parent, grandparent, partner or friend, this is an opportunity to understand their world a little better and gain practical insight into how you can communicate and support them with greater understanding and compassion. Sunday 27th September – Farmers and Craft Market

The Town Council runs a monthly Farmers’ and Craft Market each month from 10am – 2pm, at civic offices car park, Borehamwood, WD6 5HQ. A mixture of stalls including fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, breads, cheeses, crafts, gifts and other exciting products from local small businesses.


Tuesday 29th September – Brush Party

Join Brush Party, the UK’s ‘Paint and Sip’ experts at Mops and Brooms, 52 Rowley Lane, Borehamwood, WD6 5PD on Tuesday 29th September from 7pm – 10pm, to create their fabulous theme Mind The Gap. To book click here

Spook-Fest brings plenty of Halloween fun for the whole family. It is Spooky rather than terrifying and suitable for all ages. Wednesday 28th October – Teddy Bears’ Picnic

This delightful show is full of songs, games, stories, fun and laughter and is suitable for under fives, mums, dads, grandmas and grandads and teddy bears. Everyone is encouraged to bring their teddy bears along with them as there will be prizes for the biggest, smallest, oldest and friendliest. In fact there is lots of audience participation in this one hour show with lots of prizes and giveaways. Wednesday 28th October from 2pm – 3pm. Free craft activity in the cafe after the show. Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council, Fireworks Display. Celebrating over 100 years of film and TV production in Elstree and Borehamwood. Thursday 5th November from 7pm – 8pm, display at 7.30pm. Free entry, at Meadow Park, Borehamwood.

Santa’s Magical Grotto runs from Saturday 28th November – Christmas Eve. Help the Elf get ready for Santa’s busy Christmas schedule. Meet Santa and share all your Christmas wishes. Head into Santa’s Workshop and choose your perfect gift. Write your letter to Santa and receive a video message reply. Winter Farm Pass runs from Saturday 28th November – Sunday 3rd January. Prepare to embark on an enchanting journey with this year’s Pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk at Wyllyotts Theatre, Wyllyotts Place, Darkes Lane, Potters Bar, EN6 2HZ. Join Jack, Dame Trott, and the lovable Clarabelle the Cow for an unforgettable escapade. These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are a great opportunity for you to meet other families too. Baby Rhyme Time is free although donations are welcome. No booking required. For the comfort and safety of families they may have to limit numbers so entry to a session cannot be guaranteed. Thursday 7th January – Storytime

These interactive story sessions are perfect for pre-school children to enjoy with their parent/carer. Join in with a mix of picture book stories and rhymes. Thursday 7th January – Craft and a Cuppa

Come along for fun challenges that build problem solving skills, spatial awareness, and creative thinking. Thursday 21st January – The Searchers and Hollies Experience

This show celebrates every top ten hit from both bands, as they stormed the UK and US charts throughout the golden age of pop.
