Saturday 27th July – Adult Parkrun 

Adult parkrun at Aldenham Country Park, Aldenham Road, Radlett, Borehamwood, WD6 3BA, every Saturday from 9am. Completely free and accessible to all, it is a 5k race for all the family. At Simply visit their website and sign up click here


Saturday 27th July – Parkplay

ParkPlay is a national project that runs every Saturday from 10am – 12 noon. and is completely free to attend. They aim to encourage families to participate together across generations and get involved in game activities. All their games are inclusive and can be played across a range of ages in a way that keeps thing safe and most importantly fun for all the family. There are no age restrictions to any of their projects but say if they can walk, they can play. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Sunday 28th July – Junior Parkrun 

Taking place at the Furzefield Leisure Centre, Mutton Lane, Potters Bar, EN6 3BW, the new junior parkrun is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for juniors aged 4 to 14 years old. It is held every Sunday at 9am. For further information click here


Sunday 28th July – An Evening Out in the Afternoon 

This great group supporting the isolated, disabled, those living with dementia and seniors, meet every Sunday afternoon from 2.30pm – 4.30pm. At Maxwell Park Community Centre, Maxwell Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1JJ. With singalongs, games, raffle and refreshments.


Sunday 28th July – Watford Brass Band

Bring a picnic and a chair and join Watford Brass Band on Sunday 28th July from 3pm at Meadow Park, Borehamwood.


Monday 29th July – SEND Chat and Play

Come along to SEND Chat and Play and meet Gemma Albon from the charity Upon Downs which is a parent run organisation which supports families of children with Down’s Syndrome. They welcome parents and practitioners from all over Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas. They offer one to one support for new parents, family meetings with children’s activities, outings to farms, theme parks and places of interest, and workshops and education days. They also run an early development group and specialised speech therapy classes. Citizens Advice Drop In every Tuesday from 10am – 3pm, at The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue, Radlett, WD7 8HL.


Tuesday 30th July – IT Champions

IT Champions offer one-to-one support, problem-solving, and online safety advice for users of the library computers and WiFi. At Borehamwood Library, 96 Shenley Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1EB. Every Tuesday from 2pm – 4pm.


Wednesday 31st July – Creative Fun with Numbers

Come and join Communities 1st for free numeracy fun with your child. Help them to explore numbers through a range of creative and physical activities. Make new friends and play. This event is suitable for primary school aged children. Parents/carers must accompany their children. Drinks and light refreshments will be provided. At Windsor Hall, Blyth Close,

Wednesday 31st July – Compassionate Cafe

Compassionate Cafés are a place where people who have experienced a loss, such as a bereavement, can pop in for a cuppa, a cake, and a friendly person to talk to. It provides a safe environment for individuals to come together, have a friendly chat, and connect with others who may share similar experiences. Every Wednesday from 10am – 12 noon, at Loaves and Fishes Café, Christ Church Little Heath, Great North Rd, Potters Bar, EN6 1JN.


Wednesday 31st July – Family Fun

Fun sessions with a wide range of activities for you and your children to play together, meet other local families and the Family Centre team. As well as lots for Under 5’s to enjoy, there will be activities for siblings up to the age of 8. Wednesdays until 28th August from 10.30am – 12 noon. Wednesday 31st July – School Holiday Lunch Session

Come and join Borehamwood Foodbank for a fun filled session on Wednesday 24 July from 11am – 1pm at St Teresa’s Church, 291 Shenley Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1TG. These sessions will run each week until 28th August, and as well as food packs and fun you can order school uniform for your child or children.


Wednesday 31st July – Back2Bowls

Back2Bowls is a perfect way to get moving and meet new people. Taking place at Aberford Community Centre, Aberford Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1PN, Back2Bowls provides free bowls sessions on both an outdoor bowling green and indoor mats. Free refreshments will be available and you can take part in a variety of board games. Wednesday 31st July – The Rummikub Runners

A friendly group, where people get together to play games of rummikub. All ages welcome. At Allum Manor House, 2 Allum Lane, Elstree, Borehamwood, WD6 3PJ. Every other Wednesday from 2.30pm – 4.30pm. Next is 14th August.


Thursday 1st August – Breastfeeding Celebration Event

To celebrate National Breastfeeding Week, Dacorum Family Centre Service are holding a celebration event in partnership with their health colleagues. All are welcome to attend. Their trained staff, as well as Public Health Nursing, will be attending the event. Thursday 1st August from 9.30am – 11am, at The BECC Family Centre, off Shakespeare Drive, Furzehill Road, Borehamwood, WD6 2FD.


Thursday 1st August – Family Gardening Fun

The Grow Your Own Sunshine project is a community gardening scheme that began during Hertfordshire’s Feeling Good Week in February 2024. During August on Thursdays from 10am – 2pm, they will be hosting gardening fun for all the family again at Farriers Way Community Centre, Farriers Way, Borehamwood, WD6 2TB. Activities: Creating bug hotels, decorating plant pots, gardening activity sheets and planting seeds. This is a free event for the community. Free refreshments will be provided.


Thursday 1st August – Under 5’s Storytime

Join Oakmere Library, High Street, Potters Bar, EN6 5BZ, for stories and songs every Thursday from 11am – 11.30am. No need to book.


Friday 2nd August – Creative Community Cafes

Creative Community Cafes are open to you in Borehamwood and Radlett for crafting with free refreshments. Bring your current project, meet new friends with similar interests, and chat about your hobbies. At Organ Hall, 37 Bairstow Close, Borehamwood, WD6 4TB, on Fridays from 10am – 2pm. Bring a picnic and a chair and join Welwyn Garden City Band on Sunday 4th August from 3pm, at Meadow Park, Borehamwood.


Monday 5th August – Herts Summer Parks

Herts Sports Partnership and Hertfordshire County Council are organising an exciting programme of free festival style events for teenagers aged between 12-16yrs across five different parks in Hertfordshire this summer. They are coming to Borehamwood Youth FC, 82 Aycliffe Road, Borehamwood, WD6 4JW, on Monday 5th, 12th and 19th August from 3pm – 6pm, where a range of free activities will be on offer, including a pump track, graffiti workshops, a climbing wall, bubble football, arts and crafts, wellbeing activities and lots more.

A free and tasty hot meal will also be provided via a food voucher that can be exchanged at a local food provider. There is no need to book, please just drop in to the sessions. Please scan the QR code below to sign up and find out more information.


Wednesday 7th August – Who Wants To Be an Olympian?

Qualify, win team medals and be in your very own Olympic ceremony with Pākiki Theatre’s ‘Who Wants To Be An Olympian?’, the show that celebrates Olympics and Paralympics past, present and future. Ideal for ages 6-12 and their families. Monday 12th August – Summer Event

Summer event by Aldenham Parish Council is with Christ Church and St John’s Radlett and Amer’s Amusements. Monday 12th August from 10.30am – 2.30pm. With bouncy castle, games, inflatable slide, crafts and more. At Christ Church Field, Watling Street, Radlett, WD7 7JJ.


Wednesday 14th August – Women’s Safety Talk

Hertsmere Borough Council, Hertfordshire Constabulary and SAFE by CST invite you to a seminar focussing on Women’s Safety, but the advice is, of course, useful for everyone. Discuss personal safety in both your professional and private life, including public transport, traveling to and from home, lone working, and work visits. They also look at how to use technology to assist with your safety. Refreshments will be provided. Tuesday 20th August – CPR Awareness Sessions

Free CPR Awareness sessions are being run by fire crews at Borehamwood and Elstree Fire Station and the Hertsmere Community Safety Partnership. At the sessions, participants will learn about the recovery position, how to deal with an unconscious person who isn’t breathing, CPR and how to use a defibrillator. The sessions will take place at Borehamwood Fire Station, 55 Elstree Way, Borehamwood, WD6 1JP. Tuesday 20th August from 7pm – 8pm.

Monday 16th September – Home Farm Glamping Bat Walk

Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust are delighted to be working in partnership with Home Farm Glamping to offer this evening bat walk. As the light fades over the meadows, join in to discover the bats found at Home Farm Glamping. Using detectors, you will be able to hear them echo-locating over the trees, along the hedgerows and over the lakes, seeking out moths and insects for their supper. Wednesday 2nd October – Wednesday Night Project

Wednesday Night Project is a free 10-week course for 10-18-year-olds that develops participants’ skills in dance, drama, and design, all leading up to a final performance. Sunday 1st December – The Dreamcoat Stars: A Christmas Musical

Christmas carols, festive favourites and a sprinkling of musical hits showcased by the stars of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in this seasonal family concert. Come on a sleigh-ride through a hand-picked selection of everyone’s favourite West End and Broadway classics, Les Misérables, The Sound of Music, Dirty Dancing, West Side Story.
