Thursday 19th September – Coffee Morning

Come along to Herts and Barnet Oddfellows ever growing coffee morning. They meet on the third Thursday of every month from 10.30am – 12.30pm. At Wyllyotts Theatre, Wyllyotts Place, Potters Bar, EN6 2HZ. Everybody is welcome.


Thursday 19th September – Compassionate Cafe

Compassionate Cafés are a place where people who have experienced a loss, such as a bereavement, can pop in for a cuppa, a cake, and a friendly person to talk to. It provides a safe environment for individuals to come together, have a friendly chat, and connect with others who may share similar experiences. Third Thursday each month from 2pm – 3.30pm, at Borehamwood Library Community Hub, 96 Shenley Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1EB.


Thursday 19th September – Knit and Natter

Free knitting session in a friendly relaxed environment. All abilities and ages welcome. Thursdays from 3pm – 5pm, at Radlett Library, 1 Aldenham Avenue, Radlett, WD7 8HL.


Friday 20th September – Creative Community Cafes

Creative Community Cafes are open to you in Borehamwood and Radlett for crafting with free refreshments. Bring your current project, meet new friends with similar interests, and chat about your hobbies. At Organ Hall, 37 Bairstow Close, Borehamwood, WD6 4TB, on Fridays from 10am – 2pm. Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd September – Aldenham Art Festival

Aldenham Art Festival at St. John Baptist Church, Church Lane, Radlett. A collection of works of art to browse and buy. On Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd September.


Saturday 21st September – Adult Parkrun 

Adult parkrun at Aldenham Country Park, Aldenham Road, Radlett, Borehamwood, WD6 3BA, every Saturday from 9am. Completely free and accessible to all, it is a 5k race for all the family. At Simply visit their website and sign up click here


Saturday 21st September – Parkplay

ParkPlay is a national project that runs every Saturday from 10am – 12 noon. and is completely free to attend. They aim to encourage families to participate together across generations and get involved in game activities. All their games are inclusive and can be played across a range of ages in a way that keeps thing safe and most importantly fun for all the family. There are no age restrictions to any of their projects but say if they can walk, they can play. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Sunday 22nd September – Junior Parkrun 

Taking place at the Furzefield Leisure Centre, Mutton Lane, Potters Bar, EN6 3BW, the new junior parkrun is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for juniors aged 4 to 14 years old. It is held every Sunday at 9am. For further information click here


Sunday 22nd September – Farmers and Craft Market

The Town Council runs a monthly Farmers’ and Craft Market on the 4th Sunday of each month at Brook Road Car Park, Borehamwood, WD6 5HQ. A mixture of stalls including fresh fruit & vegetables, meats, breads, cheeses, crafts, gifts and other exciting products from local small businesses.


Sunday 22nd September – An Evening Out in the Afternoon 

This great group supporting the isolated, disabled, those living with dementia and seniors, meet every Sunday afternoon from 2.30pm – 4.30pm. At Maxwell Park Community Centre, Maxwell Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1JJ. With singalongs, games, raffle and refreshments.


Monday 23rd September – Jump In SEN sessions

Jump In Trampoline Park Elstree offer Jump In SEN sessions which are perfect for autism groups and for parents looking for activities in a calmer environment. A free fun, 90 minute active session suitable for children aged 18 months plus. Come and meet other local families and enjoy lots of fun games and play opportunities to support your child with their physical development. Older siblings welcome. Wednesdays from 10.30am – 12 noon. Wednesday 25th September – The Rummikub Runners

A friendly group, where people get together to play games of rummikub. All ages welcome. At Allum Manor House, 2 Allum Lane, Elstree, Borehamwood, WD6 3PJ. Every other Wednesday from 2.30pm – 4.30pm. Next is 9th October


Saturday 28th September – The Nick Ross Orchestra: The Glenn Miller and Rat Pack Era

Sunday 29th September – Hertsmere’s 50th Anniversary

Hertsmere Borough Council is celebrating its 50th year anniversary with a free family fun day in the Civic Offices car park, Shenley Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1TJ, on Sunday 29th September from 12 noon – 5pm. See classic cars, vintage stalls, community and food stands, hear live music and enjoy fun fair rides. A retro style celebration, free to enter and there will be lots for people of all ages to see and do.


Sunday 29th September – Autumn Concert

The Elstree Mozart Players  have rapidly become a cornerstone of the town’s cultural scene. Their passion for classical music and commitment to community engagement has made the orchestra a beloved institution in the area. This concert will take place on Sunday 29th September from 7.30pm, Allum Hall and Manor, Elstree, Borehamwood, WD6 3PJ, offering an enchanting musical experience. Tuesday 1st October – Herts Musical Memories

Herts Musical Memories have a music therapy group on Tuesdays until 10th December from 11.30am – 1pm. They have been delivering therapeutic singing sessions across Hertfordshire for people with dementia and their carers for years now. Wednesday 2nd October – Wednesday Night Project

Wednesday Night Project is a free 10-week course for 10-18-year-olds that develops participants’ skills in dance, drama, and design, all leading up to a final performance. Join Herts Inclusive for a taster session on Wednesday 2nd October, and then every Wednesday from 6pm – 8pm until 11th December 11th at Hertswood Academy, Cowley Hill, Borehamwood, WD6 5LG. Sunday 6th October – Potters Bar Farmers Market and Craft Fair

Discover freshness, flavour, and community at this lovely market at Potters Bar Farmers Market and Craft Fair. Meeting the first and third Sunday of each month from 10am – 2pm. At Revive Health and Fitness, Darkes Lane, Potters Bar, EN6 1DE.


Saturday 12th October – Sunday 3rd November – Spook-Fest

Your Spook-Fest Ticket includes your Farm Pass to see all the animals as well as enjoying the spooky themed farm featuring the Aldenham Mausoleum and Spooky Shack and activities including- Giant Puzzles, Pumpkin Bingo, Spider Maze, Spooky-Oke, Mini Tractor Play, Bouncy Castle, Dance Tunnel and the Bale Play. Interact with their Scarecrow characters and watch out for their Pop Up Shows (available 26th – 31st October).

Wednesday 6th November – Slipper Swap

Old slippers often cause trips and falls, which could lead to an unnecessary stay in hospital and loss of independence. Older residents can swap their old slippers for a brand-new free pair of anti-slip ones – and find out more about keeping themselves safe and well at the same time. Wednesday 6th November from 10am – 1pm. At Borehamwood Library, 96 Shenley Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1EB. Just come along and library staff will not only be on hand to help you but to introduce you to their services for older people such as information; activities; the Home Library Service, and book a Home Fire Safety visit with the Fire Service.


Tuesday 12th November – Baby Fair

A free fun event for expectant parents or parents of a child under one year. Meet other local families, enjoy refreshments, find out what’s on and enjoy choosing preloved maternity and baby clothes. Our friendly team will be on hand to offer you free support and advice, alongside stalls from local partners. Tuesday 12th November from 1pm – 3pm, at Furzefield Family Centre, Potters Bar, EN6 3BW.


Tuesday 19th November –  Online Safety Talk

Hertsmere Borough Council, Hertfordshire Constabulary and SAFE by CST invite you to a seminar on Online Safety for Beginners. In this gentle introduction to Online Security, you will learn how to protect yourselves from online threats and scams. They look at how to spot fake emails, avoid common pitfalls and provide helpful hints and tips on how to stay safe online. At Civic Offices, Elstree Way, Borehamwood, WD6 1WA. Running every weekend from the 30th November – 15th December and every day from 16th – 24th December. Discover the secrets that unfold as you journey through Santa’s Magical Grotto. Sunday 1st December – The Dreamcoat Stars: A Christmas Musical

Christmas carols, festive favourites and a sprinkling of musical hits showcased by the stars of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in this seasonal family concert. Come on a sleigh-ride through a hand-picked selection of everyone’s favourite West End and Broadway classics, Les Misérables, The Sound of Music, Dirty Dancing, West Side Story. Upstage Productions present Sleeping Beauty as their 2024 traditional family pantomime.
