Tuesday 21st April – Man, You’re a Lifesaver,
Hertsmere Borough Council is hosting Man, You’re a Lifesaver, a men’s health and wellbeing event on Tuesday 21 April from 12.30pm – 3.30pm at Aberford Community Centre, Borehamwood, WD6 1PN. This will mark the final event of their Hertsmere Against Cancer campaign, which seeks to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of male cancers. The event will also feature a range of stallholders and talks, covering a wide range of aspects of men’s health and wellbeing. This is a free and open event for all residents of Hertsmere, no booking required.
Wednesday 22nd April – Lawn Bowls
Challenge yourself to get closest to the jack while enjoying a friendly, fun atmosphere. This lawn bowling green is accessible for all ages, with plenty of equipment ready for you, just bring flat shoes and you are good to go. Free sessions every Wednesdays from 12 noon – 4pm. Rain or shine, If the weather is very poor, the session may be held indoors inside the Borehamwood Bowls Club, Aberford Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1PL.
Wednesday 22nd April – Quiz Night
Get yourself a team together and come and join the fun, at this quiz night, with weekly cash prize. At The Wellington, Theobald Street., Borehamwood, WD6 4SE, every Wednesday from 8pm, until at least December 23rd.
Thursday 23rd April – Information Event
Are you living with a long-term health condition or reduced mobility, or caring for someone who is? This information event is to connect you with health and social care services, charities, and organisations in Hertfordshire or supporting people in the county. This is a great opportunity to find out what support is available and how it could benefit you or the person you care for. At Maxwell Park Community Centre, Maxwell Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1JJ. A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog or run. The event takes place at Aldenham Country Park, Aldenham Road, Elstree, WD6 3BA. Every Saturday from 9am. For further information click here
Saturday 25th April – Prosthetic and Orthotic Users
Meet other prosthetic and orthotic users from RNOH Stanmore and from other Limb centres across the country. Enjoy a coffee, a coke, a glass of wine or a pub meal and a great chat with fellow users and their families. Very informal and relaxed. Friends and family welcome. Sunday 26th April – Junior Parkrun
A free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for juniors 4-14 year olds. Held every Sunday from 9am, at Furzefield Leisure Centre, Mutton Lane, Potters Bar, EN6 3BW. Every week they grab a post parkrun coffee at the Furzefield Leisure Centre Café. For further information click here
Sunday 26th April – Farmers and Craft Market
The Town Council runs a monthly Farmers’ and Craft Market each month from 10am – 2pm, at civic offices car park, Borehamwood, WD6 5HQ. A mixture of stalls including fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, breads, cheeses, crafts, gifts and other exciting products from local small businesses.

Tuesday 28th April – Men That Meet Group

Tuesday 19th May – Learning French
A friendly French course to build your confidence. Beginners, intermediate, and advanced conversation groups available. The course takes place at Allum Manor, Allum Lane, Borehamwood, WD6 3PJ. Friday 26th June – Older Persons Activity, Learning and Safety
Older persons activity, learning and safety (OPALS) events are sociable, seated events where you can get quality advice and help on a wide range of services available. As well as giving reassuring safety and wellbeing support, the event includes an opportunity to meet other residents in your area, safety related freebies and representatives from a variety of agencies giving advice on the services they offer.
