Saturday 2nd December – Christmas Fayre

Fun fair, food stalls, craft and gift stalls, beer tent, live music and on Saturday 2nd December at 6pm the tree lights switch on.


Saturday 2nd December – Barley Christmas Market

The Barley Christmas Market is being held in both the Barley Town-house and Barley Church which are opposite each other in Church End SG8 8JW. Lots of fabulous Christmas presents and decorations to buy, including: Art, Jewellery, candles and melts, Metal work, fashion, toys, cards, wildlife art and pottery plus many more including Charity stalls, along with a raffle (prizes generously donated by our stall holders) and tasty refreshments.

It will be a great place to do your Christmas shopping away from the town centre crowds. Saturday 2nd December from 11am – 4pm.


Saturday 2nd – Sunday 3rd December – Christmas Market

Join Standalone Farm this Christmas for a fun-filled festive market complete with music, food and shopping. Their animals will even make an appearance. Visitors can enjoy festive food stalls, mulled cider and live music. Browse the various stalls and shop for the perfect gift from the talented makers selling gifts, art and local produce. Little ones will be able to enjoy festive activities and meet farm animals.

Sunday 3rd December – Craft Fair

Craft fair on the first Sunday of the month from 10am – 2pm. At Market Hill Rooms, Fish Hill, Royston. With free entry and parking.


Sunday 3rd December – Christmas Fair

Christmas fair with arts and crafts at Letchworth and Baldock Lions Club, The Cloisters, Barrington Road, Letchworth, SG6 3TH. On Sunday 3rd December from 11am – 4pm.


Sunday 3rd December – Christmas at St Nics

This Christmas fair is open to everyone and it would be lovely to see as many of the community there as possible on Sunday 3rd December from 12 noon – 3pm. At Norton St Nicholas Primary School, Letchworth, SG6 1AG.


Monday 4th December – Baby Rhyme Time

Join Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden, City SG6 3PF,for a fun, half an hour session of songs and rhymes that are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are an opportunity for you to meet other families too. No need to book, just turn up. However spaces are limited so please arrive promptly. Donations are welcome. Mondays until at least 18th December from 10.30am – 11am.


Monday 4th December – Monday Meet Up

Drop in for a chat, make new friends over tea, biscuits and various activities. At Baldock Library, Simpson Drive, Baldock, SG7 6DH. Every first Monday of the month from 10.30am – 12 noon.


Monday 4th December – Christmas Extravaganza at Royston Fire Station

Christmas Extravaganza at Royston Fire Station on Monday 4th December from 5pm – 8pm. (quiet hour 4 – 5pm). Meet Santa and his helpers, with hot drinks and food available. At Royston Fire Station, Baldock St, Royston SG8 5BD.


Tuesday 5th December – Craftea

Open to all, drop in, bring your current project and have a chat over a cuppa, every Tuesday from 10.30am – 12.30pm. At Baldock Library, Simpson Drive, Baldock, SG7 6DH.


Wednesday 6th Decemeber – Royston Outdoor Market

Royston Market Square, Market Hill, Royston, SG8 9JU, is on every Wednesday and Saturday 7.30am – 2pm.


Wednesday 6th December – IT Champion

IT Champions offer one-to-one support, problem-solving, and online safety advice for users of the library computers and WiFi. Every Wednesday from 10am – 12 noon. At Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF.


Wednesday 6th December – Pic-n-Mix

Join Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF, on Wednesday 6th December from 10.30am for Pic-n-Mix. Come a long to enjoy a cuppa and a chat, there may even be a mince pie on offer. Everyone is welcome and it’s free to join in.


Thursday 7th December – Game On

Board games and LEGO Club for adults, join in or just chat over a cuppa. For all ages, free admission but donations welcome. Every Thursday from 10.30am – 12 noon. At Baldock Library, Simpson Drive, Baldock, SG7 6DH.


Friday 8th December – Storytime

These interactive story sessions are perfect for pre-school children to enjoy with their parent/carer. Join in with a mix of picture book stories and rhymes. Discover lots of new stories as well as old favourites. Then choose your own books to borrow and share at home. Sessions are free (donations welcomed) and you do not have to book in advance. Fridays from 10.30am – 11am, at Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF.


Friday 8th December – Storytime

Listen to a story and have fun with a colouring activity. Every Friday at 2pm. Suitable for 2–5 year olds. At Royston Library, Market Hill, Royston, SG8 9JN.


Friday 8th December – LEGO Club

Each week will have a theme but if your child enjoys free play, that’s fine too. Children of 8 years and under must have an adult with them at all times. Fridays from 4pm – 5pm at Buntingford Library, 77 High Street, Buntingford, SG9 9AE

Saturday 9th December – Royston Town Band Christmas Concert

The Royston Town Band Christmas Concert is on Saturday 9th December from 2pm – 4pm. Festive fun and Christmas carols, with refreshments and a raffle. At St John the Baptist, Parish Church, Melbourn Street, Royston, SG8 7BP.


Saturday 9th December – Turn on to Christmas

Wednesday 13th December – Royston Rotary Memory Cafe

Royston Rotary Memory Cafe meets every second Wednesday of the month from 10am – 12 noon. Providing support to folks with memory loss and their carers. Enjoy friendship, fun and games at Coombes Community Centre, Burns Road, Royston, SG8 5PT.


Wednesday 13th December – WOW! said the owl

Join Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF, on Wednesday 13th December from 4pm – 5pm. They will be enjoying the book ‘WOW! said the owl’ by Tim Hopgood then making an owl to display in the children’s area of the library, using re-cycled newspapers. Suitable for ages 3-6. Thursday 14th – Sunday 17th December – Aladdin

A story of good versus evil, heroes and villains, magical genie’s and of course a flying carpet; not to mention song, dance, laughs, some very messy slapstick and an outrageous surprise or two. Aladdin promises to be a magical ride for all the family.

This performance will be specially adapted to be accessible to a broader range of audiences, such as those who are autistic, those with a learning disability, or anyone with additional sensory needs. Friday 15th December – Soft Toy Sleepover and Storytime

Royston Library, Market Hill, Royston, SG8 9JN, will be holding a festive Soft Toy Sleepover and Storytime on Friday 15th December from 4.15pm -5pm. Your little ones can bring along their soft toys, leave them overnight in the library and come to collect them the next day to see what they got up to overnight. This is a free event with no booking required, donations are welcome.


Friday 15th December – A Christmas Carol: A One-Man Show

This Christmas classic comes straight from the original text that Charles Dickens used for his own reading tours from 1853. Mat takes this festive favourite from page to performance, bringing the book and its host of memorable characters to life in a one-man show that’s sure to set up your festive season.  

This performance brings the story to life with its abundance of much-loved characters and familiar scenes that usher in the geniality and joy of the festive season. Sit back with a warming winter tipple  and take in this quintessential Christmas tale, reinvigorated from the author’s original words. Saturday 16th December – Letchworth Food, Drink and Craft Festival

The Letchworth Food, Drink and Craft Festival is on Saturday 18th November from 10am – 4pm. At Leys Square, Letchworth.


Saturday 16th December – Meet Hodman and Sally!

Meet Hodman Dodmanott and his beautiful wife Sally Forth as they amble merrily through the Garden Square Shopping Centre, Letchworth, bringing laughter and joy wherever they go. Enjoy their hilarious attempts at Christmas shopping and carol singing (although singing may not be quite the right word).

Two tiny adventurers with a lot on their minds and even more on their backs. Join these elderly amblers as they set out to unfathom the modern world, meet strange and exciting new people and search for a decent place to camp.


Saturday 16th December – Farmers on Lights Tour 

Come and watch the famous Farmers on Lights Tour visit through Letchworth Garden City. After a brief drive through Baldock, the tractors will be driving through town up Leys Avenue. Come and support the Garden House Hospice for this fantastic event. There will be hot food and drink and some Christmas additions to the town. Fun for all the family. Saturday 16th December from 5pm – 8pm.


On now until – Sunday 17th December – Nutcracker Trail

Get ready for a magical adventure as children 11 years and under are invited to embark on a festive quest to find the twelve enchanting Nutcracker characters hidden around Royston Town Centre shops. Locate the Nutcracker characters, and complete the answers for the chance to win a large nutcracker and treats from Kelly’s Kitchen.

Saturday 23rd December – Christmas Storytime

Join Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF, for a special Christmas Storytime. It is a free event and no booking required. Donations welcome. They hope that you will wear your Christmas jumper. Saturday 23rd December from 10.30am – 11am.

Pick up your trail sheet from the Love Letchworth office in the Arcade, match the shops to the pictures, return the sheet to be entered into a prize draw. Follow the trail and discover Letchworth.
