Saturday 27th July – Letchworth Model Railway Society’s Annual Exhibition

Monday 29th July – Baby Rhyme Time

These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are an opportunity for you to meet other families too. For the comfort and safety of families they may have to limit numbers so entry to a session cannot be guaranteed. Every Monday from 10.30am – 11am. Monday 29th July – Manga Workshop

A workshop at Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF to learn how to draw Manga with professional artist Heba Rena Yassin. Suitable for ages 14-24. All levels of experience. Monday 29th – Wednesday 31st July – Love is in Nature

This is a truly special workshop and the perfect opportunity to spend some creative, quality time with your child, grandchild, friend or even by yourself. Standalone Farm will supply an abundance of bulbs, a selection of plants, twigs, moss, foliage and other beautiful materials so you can get creative and produce a potted creation or table centrepiece. With expert help and guidance, each child and adult will create a unique, nature-themed masterpiece that can be taken home and proudly displayed.

Each session will last 1 hour, every person attending the session will need to purchase a ticket, whether they are an adult or child. Under twos can attend for free. Please dress warmly as the event will take place inside their rustic barns which are not heated. Tuesday 30th July – Knit and Natter

knit and natter, crochet and chatter, all welcome, all you need bring is your project. Every Tuesday from 1pm – 3pm, at Stepping Stones, Garden Square, SG6 3DN.


Thursday 1st August – Chatter and Natter

Chatter and Natter tables are where customers can sit if they are happy to talk to other customers, often a volunteer normally hosts. Pop along Monday – Friday from 8.30am – 2.30pm at Level Ground Co. Community Café, Spirella Bldg, Bridge Road, Letchworth Garden City SG6 4ET, to attend a chatty table session.


Thursday 1st August – Childrens Creative Chefs

Saturday 3rd August – The Community Cafe

Come along to St Paul’s Church, 179 Pixmore Way, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 1QT, and browse the lovely preloved children’s clothes, books, toys and equipment, take what you need, it is all free. Sample some excellent cakes as you relax with a cup of tea or coffee. They will have an exciting activity for the children, and plus our St Paul’s Pantry with cupboard staples and hygiene products. Saturday 3rd August from 10.30am – 12 noon. First Saturday of each month.


Monday 5th – Friday 9th August – Creepy Critters

World renowned animal wrangler Mark Amey is back at Standalone Farm, Wilbury Road, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 4JN, with a fact-filled demonstration showcasing amazing wildlife from across the globe. Mark Amey has had a love for reptiles and amphibians for as long as he can remember. What he does not know about the natural world is not worth knowing.

With everything from creepy crawlies to reptiles and cute but not-so-cuddly fluffy animals, this fascinating show will let you get up close to lots of creepy critters. Suitable for children 5 years and over. 30-minute show with a 10-minute photo opportunity. Tickets include day entry to Standalone Farm (10am-5pm). Monday 5th August – Lego Club for Children

This Lego Club is suitable for children aged 5-12 years. At Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF. Twice monthly from 4pm – 5pm.


Tuesday 6th August – Junk Robot Workshop

Join Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF, on Tuesday 6th August from 2pm – 4pm, at their Junk Robot Workshop. Drop in to make a robot out of recycled packaging. Suitable for ages 5 – 11. Children must be accompanied by an adult.


Wednesday 7th August – Pic N Mix

Join Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF, for refreshments and a chat on the first Wednesday of each month from 10.30am – 12 noon, and make some new friends.


Saturday 10th August – Deaf Awareness Workshop

Join Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF, for a Deaf Awareness Workshop. Improve your interactions with the Deaf community. Find out more about the history of deafness, the origins of sign language and basic British Sign Language and finger spelling. Suitable for Age 14 – 24 year olds. Drop in, no need to book. Saturday 10th August from 10.30am – 12.30pm.

The Letchworth Food, Drink and Craft Festival is on every third Saturday from 10am – 4pm. At Leys Square, Letchworth.

Tuesday 20th August – Ready to Read

Join Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF, for a family learning event for children aged 3-5 years. Fun games and activities to help your child develop their skills in preparation for starting school. £4 per child. Spaces are limited so please book in the Library. Tuesday 20th August from 3pm – 4pm.


Wednesday 21st August – Create and Chat

Join Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF, at their Create and Chat group. Meeting on the third Wednesday of every month from 10.30am. Bring along your crafting projects and share ideas over a cuppa. Or they can help you learn to knit, crochet or sew. It is free to join in but donations are always welcome.


Thursday 22nd August – Menopause Cafe

Come along to this Menopause Cafe followed by a chat with Laurence, nutritional therapist, to talk all things sugar addiction. Thursday 22nd August from 6.30pm. At Nuffield Health, Letchworth Lane, (next to Hall Hotel), Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3NP.


Monday 26th – Friday 30th August – Space Dome

Standalone Farm have teamed up with Immersive Theatres who are a mobile digital planetarium service specialising in astronomy, interactive learning, entertainment and a digital 360-degree exploration of space. Enter the dome and they will take you on an up close educational voyage into space, where little ones will learn about the universe in an accessible way.

Immersive Theatre’s teaching of astronomy is very much tailored to all the various developmental stages of children’s thinking and is the perfect introduction to space for little ones. Suitable for ages 4-7 years. Sessions will last 30 minutes. This event will be held in their Tractor Barn (with the dome set up inside). All tickets include access to the Farm (10am-5pm). Tuesday 27th August – Older Persons Activity Learning and Safety

An OPALS (Older Persons Activity Learning and Safety) event is taking place on Tuesday 27th August from 10am – 2pm, at the Free Church Hall, Gernon Road, Letchworth, SG6 3HS. The aim of the OPALS event is to provide quality information, advice and help available within the local community on a wide range of services available to reduce vulnerability of their senior citizens, to provide reassurance, safe and wellbeing support and reduce loneliness.


Friday 31st August – Big Goldilocks and the Three Bears Plus

Booster Cushion Theatre is coming to Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF, on Saturday 31st August from 11am with a performance of Big Goldilocks and the three Bears Plus. It will be a entertaining and interactive show. Come and enjoy an entertaining and interactive show, rediscovering new versions of familiar fairy tales. Tickets are £5 per person and are required for all adults and children. Sunday 8th September – Parent and Baby Fayre

This free event raises thousands for the Lister NICU and they continue to make the Letchworth Parent and Baby Fayre bigger and better each year. Over 30 exhibitors, Free demos and baby/toddler classes, Goodie bags for the first 50 families,  Raffle bundles. Sunday 8th September from 11am – 3pm. Sunday 15th September – Walking Tour: Letchworth’s Historic Highlights

Join Letchworth Historian, Josh Tidy, on a pleasant stroll through some of the highlights of the first Garden City’s history. This gentle walking route is punctuated with stops where we can dig deeper into the history of certain buildings. Starting and finishing at The Museum at One Garden City on the corner of Broadway Gardens (next to Morrisons). This tour takes in Parks and Gardens, Arts AND Crafts, Cheap Cottages, and some hidden gems. There is a small amount of walking on grass/uneven ground – you should wear sensible footwear if possible. Saturday 12th October – Deaf Awareness Workshop

Join Standalone Farm, Wilbury Road, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 4JN, for their first pumpkin patch event. Stroll through their pumpkin patch and enjoy countless photo opportunities along the way. Saturday 30th November – Sunday 1st December – Standalone Farm Christmas Market

Join Standalone Farm, Wilbury Road, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 4JN, this Christmas for a fun-filled Festive Market complete with music, food and shopping. Their animals will even make an appearance. Visit Standalone on the weekends of 30th Nov – 1st December and 7th – 8th December as they transform their farmyard into a magical Festive Market.
