Tuesday 30th April – Craftea

Open to all, drop in, bring your current project and have a chat over a cuppa, every Tuesday from 10.30am – 12.30pm. At Baldock Library, Simpson Drive, Baldock, SG7 6DH.

knit and natter, crochet and chatter, all welcome, all you need bring is your project. Every Tuesday from 1pm – 3pm, at Stepping Stones, Garden Square, SG6 3DN.


Wednesday 1st May – IT Champions

IT Champions offer one-to-one support, problem-solving, and online safety advice for users of the library computers and WiFi. At Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF. Every Wednesday from 10am – 12 noon.


Wednesday 1st May – Citizens Advice Drop In

The CAB will be at Baldock Library, Simpson Drive, Baldock, SG7 6DH, every Wednesday from 10.30am – 12 noon until at least the end of the year, for advice and sign-posting.


Wednesday 1st May – Baby Rhyme Time

Join Baldock Library, Simpson Drive, Baldock, SG7 6DH, for their weekly Baby Rhyme Time. Wednesdays from 10.30am – 11am. It is free but donations are welcome.


Wednesday 1st May – Pic N Mix

Join Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF, for refreshments and a chat on the first Wednesday of each month from 10.30am – 12 noon, and make some new friends.


Thursday 2nd May – Sowing Stories

Join Baldock Library, Simpson Drive, Baldock, SG7 6DH, for a brilliant-themed Storytime followed by colouring and crafts. This event is free to attend but donations welcome. Thursday 2nd May from 10.30am – 11am.


Thursday 2nd May – Game On

Board games and LEGO Club for adults, join in or just chat over a cuppa. For all ages, free admission but donations welcome. Every Thursday from 10.30am – 12 noon. At Baldock Library, Simpson Drive, Baldock, SG7 6DH.


Friday 3rd May – Come and Read to Wilbur

Wilbur the Therapy Dog is coming to Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF. Come and read to Wilbur on Friday 3rd May from 4pm – 5pm. Slots are for ten minutes and they must be booked in the Library. There is no charge for a slot but they are limited and are on a first come first served basis.


Saturday 4th May – Droid Dash

Help BB8 and friends travel through the Library maze. Who will set the fastest time? Drop in anytime on Saturday 4th May from 10am – 4pm to have a go! Fun for the whole family. At Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF.


Monday 6th May – Club Gala Day

A fun day of social lawn bowls with a rolling supply of refreshments, Monday 6th May from 10am – 5.30pm. At Whitethorn Bowls Club, Whitethorn Lane, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 2DN.


Tuesday 7th May – Walking Reading Group

The next book walk will be on Tuesday 7th May, leaving Baldock Library, Simpson Drive, Baldock, SG7 6DH, at 10.30am. They will be walking around the town for around an hour looking at the buildings and discussing the retellings of Nora Penfold and Edna Page from their book ‘Baldock Voices’. Back at the library there will be tea, coffee and biscuits waiting for you. This is a free event, though donations are always very welcome. Come and see us at the Enquiries desk to book you place and collect a book; spaces are limited and are filling up fast.


Wednesday 8th May – Move Yourself to Better Health

Free drop in sessions with John from Molyfit. Get help and advise on how to keep fit and active. Pick up tips to improve your posture and age better. Wednesday 8th May from 10.30am – 11.30am. At Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden, City SG6 3PF. Next 12th June and 10th July.


Friday 10th May – The Baldock Festival Quiz

The Baldock Festival Quiz will be held on Friday 10th May from 7pm, at the Community Centre, Simpson Drive, Baldock. SG7 6DH. This light-hearted quiz is perfect for quizzers of all abilities so do not hesitate to get your team ticket as soon as Festival event sales start on Saturday 13th April.

 


Saturday 11th May – Gravitrax

Following our very successful and very popular Gravitrax session, Baldock Library, Simpson Drive, Baldock, SG7 6DH, are pleased to announce that they have another on Saturday 11th May from 10am – 12.30pm. This is a free drop in session, though donations are always very welcome and there is no need to book, just come along. Speak to them at the enquiries desk if you would like to find out more.


Sunday 12th May – Bowls Club Open Day

An open day to learn lawn bowls Sunday 12th May from 11am – 4pm. At Whitethorn Bowls Club, Whitethorn Lane, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 2DN.


Monday 13th May – Baby Rhyme Time

These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are an opportunity for you to meet other families too. For the comfort and safety of families they may have to limit numbers so entry to a session cannot be guaranteed. Every Monday from 10.30am – 11am. Wednesday 15th May – Create and Chat

Join Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF, at their Create and Chat group. Meeting on the third Wednesday of every month from 10.30am. Bring along your crafting projects and share ideas over a cuppa. Or they can help you learn to knit, crochet or sew. It is free to join in but donations are always welcome.


Saturday 18th May – Letchworth Food, Drink and Craft Festival

The Letchworth Food, Drink and Craft Festival is on every third Saturday from 10am – 4pm. At Leys Square, Letchworth.


Saturday 18th May – Kings, Queens and Quills

Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden, City SG6 3PF invite you to create your own charter and seal at this event suitable for 7-12 years. On Saturday 18th May from 10.30am – 11.30am.


Tuesday 21st May – Community Conference

Join North Herts and Stevenage CVS at this North Herts All About Us Community Conference. As well as meeting others working in the voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise sector, you will take part in an engaging storytelling workshop. Wednesday 29th May – History Nature Walk

Join a gentle walk, of approximately an hour, around Letchworth. They will be using old maps and plans to look at where trees were planted, and discover if they are there now and what they look like. There will be refreshments in the Library after the walk. All the family can come along. Meet at Letchworth Library, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3PF. Tickets are available in the Library. Wednesday 29th May – Tiny Mites Music Presents: Cave Girl

With engaging puppets, original songs, lots of interaction and great dance moves to join in with, this production of Cave Girl will be a fun experience for children aged 1-10 and their families. Wednesday 29th May – Saturday 1st June – Beauty and The Beast

You are invited to step into the enchanted world of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, The Broadway Musical, produced in 37 countries worldwide and is based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, this stage version includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. Including “Be our Guest and of course the title song “Beauty and the Beast”.

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. Saturday 15th June – Father’s Day Storytime

Saturday 29th June – Rainbow Craft Fairs

Regular craft fair held Baldock Community Centre, Simpson Drive, Baldock, SG7 6DH. Each event there will have a variety of craft stall holders. Saturday 29th June from 11am – 3pm.


Saturday 6th July – Vegan Market

The Letchworth Garden City event takes over Leys Square, right in the centre of the town, on Saturday 6th July from 10.30am – 4pm. The event brings together a huge variety of vegan street food vendors, artisan bakers, craft brewers, ethical jewellers, sustainable chandlers, local artists, zero-waste champions, environmental charities and loads more.


Saturday 13th July – Little People Love Letchworth

A family festival aimed at under 5s and their families. Join a day or community, nature and discovery with live acts, workshops, art and crafts and music. Saturday 13th July from 10am – 4pm.
