Sunday 7th December – Hemel Old Town Market
This vibrant and popular market is held on the first Sunday of every month from 11am – 3pm. The market stalls will be located in St Marys Square, Under the Arches next to The Old Town Hall, in St Mary’s Church Hall and on the grassy area surrounding St Marys Church.
Dacorum Borough Council restrict the traffic on market day so the High Street is closed to traffic between 10am – 4pm. If you are a blue badge holder, please show this to the gate operatives and they will allow you access. Pedestrian access to the market is unrestricted. There are plenty of car parks within a 2 minute walk of the market grounds. The public toilets in the High Street and in St Mary’s Church Hall will be open on the day.

Monday 8th December – Redfly Pilates
Contemporary mat Pilates with equipment with classes at Bourne End Village Hall, London Road, Bourne End, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 2RH, and at various other locations during each week.

Monday 8th December – Open Mic Night
Held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each Month from 7pm, this bi-weekly open mic night is for musicians and held in the cosy indoor Snug room of Fishery Wharf, Fishery Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1NA. Doors open for food and drinks at 6pm and they start at 7pm so come early and get your name down and find yourself a good seat or just come and enjoy the musical talents of their local music scene.

Tuesday 9th December – Chess Night
Come join Fishery Wharf Cafe, Fishery Lock, Fishery Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1NA, for an evening of Chess, bring a board or just bring yourself and join in on a game, All levels of play are welcome. Drop in for Chess or other games from their cafe games cupboard every second Tuesday of the month from 6pm -10pm. The bar will be open for hot drinks and cakes, beers wine etc.

Thursday 11th December – Arts and Crafts Class
Join this arts and crafts class, Thursdays from 12.30pm – 2pm. Open to all 16+ at St Mary’s Church, London Road, Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 9ST.

Thursday 11th December – Christmas Hit Mix Bingo
Dig out your Christmas jumpers and join The Hop Tap, The Square, Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1EP, for this festive night of Christmas Hit mix Bingo. There will be mince pies on all the tables and some money will be raised for the local Salvation Army. Thursday 11th December from 8pm. Four games played, £1 a card, cash prizes to be won.

Thursday 11th December – Christmas Music Quiz
Christmas Music Quiz at Boxmoor Social Club, Horsecroft Road, Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1PY. Thursday 11th December from 8.15pm. Club and Kitchen open 7pm.

Saturday 13th December – Sunnyside Arts Fair
An incredible day of Live music, art makers, craft, bakers, poets and holistic therapists at the friendly, fun Sunnyside Arts Fair. Free entry and a great day out for all the family. Saturday from 10am – 3pm. At Sunnyside Up Cafe and Farm Shop, Two Waters Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 9BY.

Saturday 13th – Wednesday 24th December – Rosie Robin and the Christmas Post
This gentle, magical, heart-warming show tells the story of one tiny Robin determined that no one is forgotten this Christmas. The letters and parcels are piling up high and Rosie Robin is working hard delivering the Christmas Post. But when a snowstorm sweeps through Clover Leaf Wood, the animals must come together to make sure all the mail arrives on time. Saturday 13th – Wednesday 24th December from various times. Sunday 14th December – Record Fair
Whether you are a seasoned collector or just starting out, you have the chance to have a good look through thousands of vinyl records, CDs and cassettes from a wealth of dealers all under one roof. From reggae to heavy metal, soul to glam rock there will be something for everyone on display. Pick up that rarity that’s been eluding you for years or catch a bargain. Free entry. Sunday 14th December – Christmas Market
A great community market hosting local businesses and craftspeople and showcasing the historic and beautiful Old Town in which it is set with an array of unique, independent businesses, bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. With over 75 stalls, music, mulled wine, mince pies, food court and DJ. Sunday 14th December from 11am – 3pm.

Friday 19th December – Life Drawing
Regular Life Drawing session at the stunning Boxmoor Trust Centre, London Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 2RE. In the main building, upstairs to the right, from 10.30am – 1pm. Life model, friendly vibe, everyone welcome. Cost is £15, cash payment on the day. Please bring along your own materials, board and paper essential, any other materials are completely up to you. Easels very welcome. Last Friday of the month apart from December which is on the 19th.

Saturday 20th December – Carols around The Square
Gather your family and friends and join a heart-warming morning of Community Carol Singing right in the heart of Adeyfield, in The Queen’s Square. Get ready to fill The Queen’s Square with the sound of your favourite festive carols. This is a wonderful, informal chance to come together as a community and share the joy of the season. With delicious, complimentary mince pies to keep everyone warm and merry. Sing the classic Christmas carols; song sheets will be provided. Saturday 20th December from 10am – 11am.

Saturday 20th December – Local Artisan Market
Discover local gems at this local Artisan Market. Alongside their stores there will be a selection of individually hand-picked local stallholders and small businesses, selling a range of Artisan products including candles, homeware, sweet treats and more. Tuesday 23rd December – Christmas Bingo Afernoon
Join The Three Blackbirds, St John’s Road, Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1NR, for their last Afternoon Bingo of the year, some singing, chair dancing, a visit from the BIG man himself, and a whole load of festive cheer. Tuesday 23rd December – Christmas Jumper Night

Tuesday 6th January – Physical Fun
A fun, active session. Come and meet other local families and enjoy lots of play opportunities to support your child with their physical development. Siblings welcome. Wednesday 7th January – SEND Chat and Play
These Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Chat and Play sessions are a great opportunity to come and meet other families going through a similar journey, in a relaxed environment. The SEND Champions are on hand to talk to you about the services we offer, signpost to different organisations or to simply act as a listening ear. All are welcome whether your child is diagnosed or you are concerned about a possible need. They have toys out for the children, or you can come by yourself. Wednesdays from 11.15am – 12.15pm. Thursday 22nd January – Baby Massage
Learn to massage your baby. Find out how it helps with their sleeping, digestion and colic. Get to know other families and ask for help and advice. This is a five week course. An opportunity to check your baby’s weight at 16 weeks, 20 weeks, 8 months and 12 months, and receive information and advice from the Family Support Team. Either book an appointment via Eventbrite, or drop in at specific times. If your baby is outside of these key touchpoints or if you have any concerns, please contact your Health Visitor. Sunday 29th March – Vegan Market
The Hemel Hempstead event takes over the Marlowes, just outside Primark and right in the centre of the town, on just one day each year. The event brings together live music alongside an incredible selection of vegan street food vendors, artisan bakers, ethical jewellers, local artists, environmental charities and more.
