Saturday 2nd December – Christmas Gift Fair

The Leverstock Green Cricket Club, Bedmond Road, Leverstock Green, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 8LJ, Christmas fair is on Saturday 2nd December from 11am – 4pm.


Saturday 2nd December – Christmas Market

On Saturday 2nd December The Three Blackbirds Boxmoor are hosting their Christmas Festival, the wonderful combination of their annual light switch-on alongside a fabulous Christmas market. Saturday 2nd December from 3pm – 6pm.


Saturday 2nd December –  Festive Market and Christmas Lights Switch On

Join The Three Blackbirds Boxmoor and BOHO once again for Boxmoor’s annual tradition of the Christmas tee light switch on. Saturday 2nd December, at 4pm, the Ice Breaker Truck will be back, this year spreading Christmas cheer with mulled wine by the gallons.


Sunday 3rd December – Hemel Old Town Market

This vibrant and popular market is held on the first Sunday of every month. The market stalls will be located in St Marys Square, Under the Arches next to The Old Town Hall, in St Mary’s Church Hall and on the grassy area surrounding St Marys Church. Sunday 3rd December from 11am – 3pm.

Dacorum Borough Council restrict the traffic on market day so the High Street is closed to traffic between 10am – 4pm. If you are a blue badge holder, please show this to the gate operatives and they will allow you access. Pedestrian access to the market is unrestricted. There are plenty of car parks within a 2 minute walk of the market grounds. The public toilets in the High Street and in St Mary’s Church Hall will be open on the day.


Tuesday 5th December – Tweenie Tuesdays

Join this free weekly Tweenie Tuesdays sessions at The Marlowes in Centre Court, Hemel Hempstead. They have got lots of activities for your little ones to enjoy from 10am – 2pm, perfect for when you stop by for your shopping or lunch out at their stores and cafes. Tuesdays until 19th December.


Tuesday 5th December – Women’s Walking football

Wednesday 6th December – Baby Rhyme Time

These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are an opportunity for you to meet other families too. Wednesday 6th December – Alzheimer’s Society Coffee Morning

Join Alzheimer’s Society for a monthly coffee mornings on the first Wednesday of each month from 10am – 12 noon. Come and chat to the team at The Marlowes Shopping Centre, Hemel Hempstead (located opposite The Entertainer), for a catch-up, or talk about any queries or concerns.

Thursday 7th December – Slipper Swap

Trade in your worn-out slippers for free at this event. Old slippers often cause trips and falls, which could lead to an unnecessary stay in hospital and loss of independence. Older residents can swap their old slippers for a brand-new free pair of anti-slip ones, and find out more about keeping themselves safe and well at the same time. Saturday 9th December – Gadebridge Parkrun

Saturday 9th December – Second Hand Clothing Sale and Swap Shop

Monday 11th December – Stitch Social

A new and exciting art social is coming to Hemel Hempstead. Stitch Social is an informal friendly group which meets every 2nd Monday of the month from 5pm at the café in Dunelm, 1 London Road, Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 9SR. No experience or expertise required.

Each month they will try out a new skill, learn some new stitches and get creative. They will try out things like visible patching, slow stitch, rag rug, cross stitch, embroidery, weaving and more. They will be mainly using recycled and repurposed fabric and thread sourced from local recycling centres like WRAP and WorkAid in line with my passion for reducing waste. Wednesday 13th December –  Sling and Reusable Nappy Support

Stork and Bees Baby Sling Library run monthly sling and reusable nappy library sessions at Croxley Green Library, Barton Way, Croxley Green, WD3 3HB. These sessions involve one to one session with a Carrying Consultant giving tips and advise on suggested slings which can be tried on the day. The next is Wednesday 13th December from 11.30am – 1pm. Friday 15th December – Silent Night

Join Hemel Hempstead Library, The Forum, HP1 1DN, on Friday 15th December from 7pm – 8.30pm, for an evening of quiet, where you can come to read, study or do a quiet craft activity. Hot drinks will be available.


Saturday 16th December – Becoming Dad

Becoming Dad is a new inclusive workshop for new and expectant fathers to help them to connect with and understand their babies’ needs. Supported by trained facilitators from the Family Support Service. This is a hands-on session where your baby aged 0–1 year can come too. On the third Monday of each month this regular craft and chat group is from 5.30pm – 7.15pm. Become part of this friendly community to support one another in our exploration of art and crafts. Each month they will try out a new craft together while you share a cup of tea and some great company. The Apex activity camps at Longdean Sports Centre in Hemel Hempstead are fun-filled and action-packed. Children will be enjoying a variety of sports games, team building challenges, inflatables, battlezone and much more! The camp is for 5-12 year old’s and core activities run from 8am – 5pm. Santa’s Woodland Grotto is on in The Marlowes Shopping Centre, Centre Court, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1DX, giving local families the chance to embrace the Christmas magic with a cosy walk-through experience. A visit will include photo opportunities, crafts and a one-to-one visit with Santa himself where he will gift little ones with a festive treat.
