Saturday 3rd October – Gadebridge Parkrun
A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog or run. The event takes place at Gadebridge Park, Leighton Buzzard Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 3AQ. Every week they grab a post parkrun coffee in HIVE Coffee Shop, High Street, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 3AA. Every Saturday from 9am, for further information click here
Saturday 3rd October – Repair Cafe
Repair cafe where skilled individuals volunteer their tools and materials to help fix cherished items that are no longer functional or are damaged. There are a variety of items that can be fixed for free or at little cost, such as a bicycle’s broken chain, a worn-out teddy bear, a toaster that fails to pop up and more. Saturday 3rd October – Cafe and Craft
Join in some crafting or just enjoy a cuppa with a chat at St Barnabas Church, Queen Square, Adeyfield, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 4HY. First Saturday of the month from 10am – 12 noon.
Sunday 4th October – Hemel Old Town Market
This vibrant and popular market is held on the first Sunday of every month from 11am – 3pm. The market stalls will be located in St Marys Square, Under the Arches next to The Old Town Hall, in St Mary’s Church Hall and on the grassy area surrounding St Marys Church. Dacorum Borough Council restrict the traffic on market day so the High Street is closed to traffic between 10am – 4pm. If you are a blue badge holder, please show this to the gate operatives and they will allow you access. Pedestrian access to the market is unrestricted. There are plenty of car parks within a 2 minute walk of the market grounds. The public toilets in the High Street and in St Mary’s Church Hall will be open on the day.
Tuesday 6th October – Community Café
There will be tea, coffee and delicious treats, a quiz, raffle and most importantly, plenty of good company. It is completely free, there is no need to book and everyone is welcome, whether you are coming along on your own, bringing a friend or relative, or simply fancy getting out of the house and meeting some local people. Tuesday 6th October – Tea and Friends

Tuesday 6th October – Quiz Night
Get ready for a night of brain-teasing fun at Green Man, Leverstock Green Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 8QE. An evening of trivia, laughter, and friendly competition, Every Tuesday from 8pm. Wednesday 7th October – Crafternoon
Come along to Hemel’s CreatorSpace to catch up with likeminded people and work on your favourite crafts. Bring along any craft you are working on, knitting, origami, drawing, sewing, all crafts are welcome. Please bring your own craft materials. Basic materials, such as paper, pencils and pens, can be provided if you would like to come along but do not have a craft in mind. They will have free demonstrations of the CreatorSpace equipment (sewing machine, embroidery machine and digital cutter) at occasional meetings. Suitable for ages 15+ Wednesdays from 2pm – 4pm. Thursday 8th October – Macmillan Coffee Morning
Boxmoor Social Club, 81 Horsecroft Road, Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1PY, are hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning and invite you to join them for coffee, tea, cake, and a chat, all in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. Every penny raised at this event directly funds medical, emotional, and financial support for people living with cancer, as well as their families. Guests pay for their treats, and 100% of the proceeds go straight to Macmillan. Thursday 8th October from 10am – 2pm.
Thursday 8th October – Breastfeeding Support
Are you seeking support in your breastfeeding journey? Come to this support drop-in and meet with professionally trained volunteers who are ready to support you no matter what stage you are at. Running twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays from 10.30am – 12 noon. Until December 10th.
Saturday 10th October – The Bubble Show
Created and performed by Guinness World Record holder, The Highland Joker, this theatrical experience blends storytelling, magic, science, and bubble artistry into an unforgettable journey. From tiny bubbles to giant bubbles, from smoke bubbles to fire bubbles, and even a sparkling bubble cube and an erupting bubble volcano, every moment is full of colour, excitement, and interactive fun. Tuesday 13th October – Herts Musical Memories
Herts Musical Memories sessions bring people together through the power of music, memories and singing. Whether you are living with dementia, supporting a loved one, or simply enjoy singing and meeting new people, these friendly sessions are a wonderful opportunity to sing along, share memories and enjoy time together. Sunday 25th October – Old Town Spooktacular
This large community event celebrates the Hemel Hempstead Old Town High Street, working in partnership with local businesses, St Mary’s Church, Community Action Dacorum and the Old Town Hall. Expect entertainment throughout the site, a fancy dress competition for all ages and a fantastic fireworks display at 7.30pm in Gadebridge Park. Sunday 25th October from 3pm – 7pm.
Wednesday 28th October – Halloween Quiz
Gather your team and join this Halloween Quiz Night at The Three Horseshoes, 48 Winkwell, Pouchen End Lane, Bourne End, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 2RZ. Saturday 31st October – Halloween Ride to Watford
Halloween fancy dress friendly ride from Hemel to Watford Hospital to deliver some smiles to the kids and staff in hospital over Halloween. Saturday 31st October, meet at 3pm, at The Hop Tap, 31–32 The Square, Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1EP. Departing at 3.30pm, heading over to Watford via Apsley and Kings Langley. Wednesday 18th November – Kenneth Williams: A Centenary Celebration
2026 is the centenary year of the great Kenneth Williams, one of Britain’s most distinctive and beloved performers. To mark this, join Simon Cartwright, Russell Davies, Mark Farrelly and Madeline Smith at The Old Town Hall for an unforgettable journey through Kenneth’s extraordinary life. The performance showcases readings of scenes and sketches from his most iconic work, alongside moving and revealing extracts from his private diaries which will be shared onstage for the very first time. By turns hilarious and deeply poignant, this celebration pays tribute to the wit and brilliance of a true national treasure. After the performance there will also be a Q&A with the cast, and a chance to share your memories of Kenneth. From classic TV game shows to zen-like word puzzles, from retro video games to modern first person shooters, WiFi Wars has something for everyone in its truly original whistlestop tour of all the ways you can have fun, in public. The entire audience competes, both as teams and as individuals, on games, quizzes and more that are magically beamed into their smartphones and tablets using WiFi Wars’ Guinness World Record-Breaking tech, developed in residency at London’s prestigious Royal Institution. Friday 4th – Sunday 13th December – Hercules the Panto
Hemel Hempstead Theatre Company legendary pantomime is back, and this year they are heading to Ancient Greece for a hilarious adventure packed with gods, monsters and mayhem. Join Hercules as he embarks on an epic quest to stop the evil Hades from taking over Boxmoor, and the world. With Zak and Ma by his side, chaos around every corner and enough Hummus to sink a ship; it is a quest packed with laughter, fun and more (awful) puns that you can swing Jason the Cat at. Wednesday 6th January – Baby Rhyme Time
These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are a great opportunity for you to meet other families too. Baby Rhyme Time is free although donations are welcome, No booking required. For the comfort and safety of families they may have to limit numbers so entry to a session cannot be guaranteed.
