Tuesday 15th September – Herts Musical Memories
Herts Musical Memories sessions bring people together through the power of music, memories and singing. Whether you are living with dementia, supporting a loved one, or simply enjoy singing and meeting new people, these friendly sessions are a wonderful opportunity to sing along, share memories and enjoy time together. Come along, grab a cuppa and a snack, and settle in before the singing begins. Tuesdays from 2pm – 3.30pm. At St Georges URC Hall, 106 Long Chaulden, Hemel, HP1 2NX. Wednesday 16th September – Crafternoon
Come along to Hemel’s CreatorSpace to catch up with likeminded people and work on your favourite crafts. Bring along any craft you are working on, knitting, origami, drawing, sewing, all crafts are welcome. Please bring your own craft materials. Basic materials, such as paper, pencils and pens, can be provided if you would like to come along but do not have a craft in mind. They will have free demonstrations of the CreatorSpace equipment (sewing machine, embroidery machine and digital cutter) at occasional meetings. Suitable for ages 15+ Wednesdays from 2pm – 4pm. Thursday 17th September – Save A Life September

The Box Moor Trust Festival is two days of celebration and community. With circus marquees, live entertainment, food, drink, and wonderful stalls. Saturday 26th September – China Crisis
China Crisis were part of a wave of new Liverpool acts in the late 1970s and early 1980s, led by OMD and also including Echo and the Bunnymen, The Teardrop Explodes, A Flock of Seagulls and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Known for their string of hit singles, including African & White, Chrstian, Working with Fire and Steel, Black Man Ray and Wishful Thinking, the band will be performing these classics and more, alongside tracks from the new album. Saturday 3rd October – Repair Cafe
Repair cafe where skilled individuals volunteer their tools and materials to help fix cherished items that are no longer functional or are damaged. There are a variety of items that can be fixed for free or at little cost, such as a bicycle’s broken chain, a worn-out teddy bear, a toaster that fails to pop up and more. Saturday 3rd October – Cafe and Craft
Join in some crafting or just enjoy a cuppa with a chat at St Barnabas Church, Queen Square, Adeyfield, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 4HY. First Saturday of the month from 10am – 12 noon.
Sunday 4th October – Hemel Old Town Market
This vibrant and popular market is held on the first Sunday of every month from 11am – 3pm. The market stalls will be located in St Marys Square, Under the Arches next to The Old Town Hall, in St Mary’s Church Hall and on the grassy area surrounding St Marys Church. Dacorum Borough Council restrict the traffic on market day so the High Street is closed to traffic between 10am – 4pm. If you are a blue badge holder, please show this to the gate operatives and they will allow you access. Pedestrian access to the market is unrestricted. There are plenty of car parks within a 2 minute walk of the market grounds. The public toilets in the High Street and in St Mary’s Church Hall will be open on the day.
Tuesday 6th October – Tea and Friends

Thursday 8th October – Macmillan Coffee Morning
Boxmoor Social Club, 81 Horsecroft Road, Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1PY, are hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning and invite you to join them for coffee, tea, cake, and a chat, all in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. Every penny raised at this event directly funds medical, emotional, and financial support for people living with cancer, as well as their families. Guests pay for their treats, and 100% of the proceeds go straight to Macmillan. Thursday 8th October from 10am – 2pm.
Saturday 10th October – The Bubble Show
Created and performed by Guinness World Record holder, The Highland Joker, this theatrical experience blends storytelling, magic, science, and bubble artistry into an unforgettable journey. From tiny bubbles to giant bubbles, from smoke bubbles to fire bubbles, and even a sparkling bubble cube and an erupting bubble volcano, every moment is full of colour, excitement, and interactive fun. Tuesday 13th October – Green Fingers Afternoon Club
Spend a relaxing afternoon potting vegetables and fruit, crafting and topping up bird feeders and creating hanging baskets. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided throughout. Sunday 25th October – Old Town Spooktacular
This large community event celebrates the Hemel Hempstead Old Town High Street, working in partnership with local businesses, St Mary’s Church, Community Action Dacorum and the Old Town Hall. Expect entertainment throughout the site, a fancy dress competition for all ages and a fantastic fireworks display at 7.30pm.
Wednesday 18th November – Kenneth Williams: A Centenary Celebration
2026 is the centenary year of the great Kenneth Williams, one of Britain’s most distinctive and beloved performers. To mark this, join Simon Cartwright, Russell Davies, Mark Farrelly and Madeline Smith at The Old Town Hall for an unforgettable journey through Kenneth’s extraordinary life. The performance showcases readings of scenes and sketches from his most iconic work, alongside moving and revealing extracts from his private diaries which will be shared onstage for the very first time. By turns hilarious and deeply poignant, this celebration pays tribute to the wit and brilliance of a true national treasure. After the performance there will also be a Q&A with the cast, and a chance to share your memories of Kenneth. Sunday 22nd November – WiFi Wars
From classic TV game shows to zen-like word puzzles, from retro video games to modern first person shooters, WiFi Wars has something for everyone in its truly original whistlestop tour of all the ways you can have fun, in public. The entire audience competes, both as teams and as individuals, on games, quizzes and more that are magically beamed into their smartphones and tablets using WiFi Wars’ Guinness World Record-Breaking tech, developed in residency at London’s prestigious Royal Institution. Wednesday 6th January – Baby Rhyme Time
These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are a great opportunity for you to meet other families too. Baby Rhyme Time is free although donations are welcome, No booking required. For the comfort and safety of families they may have to limit numbers so entry to a session cannot be guaranteed.
