Saturday 27th July – Sunday 1st September – Summer Beach

Stevenage Borough Council is turning Event Island stage area into the seaside for all of the summer holidays. Grab your bucket and spade and head down to work on your sandcastle skills. Saturday 27th July – Sunday 1st September.


Monday 29th July – Tea and Chat

Come and join this friendly group for good conversation and lots of laughs over a cuppa. They have a monthly speaker or activity, and chat and socialise on the weeks in between. No need to book, just drop in on the day. Free event, but donations are welcome. Mondays from 10.30am – 12 noon. At Stevenage Central Library, Southgate, Stevenage, SG1 1HD.


Monday 29th July – IT Champions

IT Champions offer one-to-one support, problem-solving, and online safety advice for users of the library computers and WiFi. Every Monday from 2pm – 4pm. At Stevenage Central Library, Southgate, Stevenage, SG1 1HD.


Wednesday 31st July – Meet and Compete Board Game Group

The group meet in the front area of Stevenage Central Library, Southgate, Stevenage, SG1 1HD, to play scrabble and other board games. Free drop-in event. Every Wednesday from 2pm – 3.30pm.


Thursday 1st August – Let’s Play Anything Night

Lost Ark Games have an extensive board game library full of great games to play. Come and play games from their board game library. Bring your own in, meet friends and play. Play a wargame on a big table. Run a Role Playing game with friends. Play Magic: The Gathering or any other TCG. Bring a games console in. hook it up to one of our big TVs and play with your mates.

At Lost Ark Games, 29 Market Place, Stevenage, SG1 1DH. Their front door on the high street is closed from 5pm. Please use their rear entrance which can be found directly opposite the car entrance to the Westgate Multi Storey car park. Please use your sat-nav to find the car park if you are unsure. Every Thursday until at least June 2025 from 6pm – 10pm.


Friday 2nd August – Have a go Archery

Each Friday in August the Green Dragon Bowmen Archery Club will be in Knebworth Park, Knebworth, Stevenage, SG1 2AX, running Have-a-go Archery sessions for aspiring Archers. This activity is suitable for ages 8+ with adults encouraged to take part and is charged at £3 for 6 arrows. Payment is taken on the day by the Green Dragon Bowmen Archery Club. To book click here

If you have not recently visited Stevenage Indoor Market why not come and give them a try, you will be pleasantly surprised by the range and quality of goods and services on offer. At Stevenage Town Centre.


Saturday 3rd August – ParkPlay

ParkPlay is a two-hour long play session of fun and games for everyone every Saturday morning from 10am. At Hampson Park, Stevenage, SG1 5QU. Activities are relaxed enough to attract the shy and less confident, but structured enough to reassure.


Sunday 4th August – Garden Theatre: Hamlet

Come along to the Sunken Lawn of Knebworth House, Knebworth, Stevenage, SG1 2AX, for an open-air performance of ‘Hamlet’ by The Lord Chamberlain’s Men. On Sunday 4th August. Gates open at 6pm and the performance begins at 7pm. Bring a picnic, blanket and chairs to make the evening even more enjoyable. They will have hot and cold drinks, cakes, ice cream and a selection from their daily menu in the Garden Terrace Tea Room for your to enjoy during the performance. To book click here


Monday 5th August – Who Wants To Be an Olympian?

Qualify, win team medals and be in your very own Olympic ceremony with Pākiki Theatre’s ‘Who Wants To Be An Olympian?’, the show that celebrates Olympics and Paralympics past, present and future. Ideal for ages 6-12 and their families. Wednesday 7th August – Reading Friends

Join our Reading Friends group on the first Wednesday of every month from 10.30am – 11.45am. Meet people and make new friend, and chat about books, hobbies and interests over a hot drink. At Stevenage Central Library, Southgate, Stevenage, SG1 1HD.


Thursday 8th August – Play Day

Join Stevenage Town Centre at Event Island on Thursday 8th August from 11am – 3.30pm for free fun, with Skate school, Slush puppies, Fancy dress, Kids tattoos, Dancing and games, and much more.


Wednesday 14th August – Peartree Park Community Event

Join Stevenage Borough Council Community Engagement team at Peartree Park on Wednesday 14th August from 1pm – 4pm. This free community event at the Skate Park is the place to be to enjoy lots of fun activities and giveaways. All ages are welcome and do not forget to bring your skateboard, roller skates, BMX or any other wheels for a great time. Entry is free.


Thursday 15th August – Dementia Cafe

Come along to this dementia café and meet like-minded members of the community. Enjoy an informal chat, share experiences and receive support. Friday 16th August – Animal Crackers

Come along and see Wycome Pastures Petting Zoo, plus there will be donkey rides, Reptiles, Birds of prey, Free face painting, Balloon fun and more. Free entry with some paid activities. At Stevenage Town Centre, Friday 16th August from 10.30am – 3.30pm.


Saturday 17th August – The Peculiar Market

A specialised market in Hertfordshire bringing you over 25 unusual and fantastical traders. Discover peculiar collections of art, home decor, jewellery, live music and so much more. Saturday 17th August from 11am – 3.30pm, at Event Island, Stevenage, SG1 1BP.

Come along to Coltsfoot summer fun day, Datchworth, Knebworth, SG3 6SB, on Saturday 18th August from 11.30am – 4.30pm.


Saturday 24th – Sunday 25th August – Food and Drink Festival

Stevenage Food and Drink Festival, will be at Event Island, New Town Fountain and Clock Tower, Queensway on Saturday 24th from 10am – 7pm and Sunday 25th August from 10am – 5pm. A weekend packed with mouth-watering food, refreshing drinks, and lively entertainment for the whole family. Explore the marketplace filled with top quality traders offering everything from artisanal cheeses to international street food favourites. Enjoy delicious cocktails and ice-cold drinks while soaking up the summer vibes.

There will be live music performances on our main stage, showcasing talented local artists and community groups. Plus, enjoy walkabout entertainment and workshops to hone your culinary skills. Admission is free, so everyone can join in the fun.

Sunday 29th September – Mayor’s Charity Garden Party

Come along and meet the Mayor, drink tea, eat some cakes and enjoy the music. There will be a raffle and music from the Welwyn Garden City Band. Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th November – Knebworth Christmas Market

The Knebworth Christmas Fair will be returning to the Barns and Marquees at Knebworth House, Knebworth Park, Stevenage SG1 2AX, for a three day event on Friday 22nd, Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November. Packed with Christmas gifts, presents for all the family and delicious festive food and drink, this really is a festive event that everyone can enjoy. Come along with your friends and enjoy this festive feast of fun and entertainment and browse over 250 stalls. Friday 22nd November – Sunday 19th January – The New Adventures of Peter Pan
