Wednesday 23rd October – Board Game Group

The group meet in the front area of Stevenage Central Library, Southgate, Stevenage, SG1 1HD, to play scrabble and other board games. Free drop-in event. Every Wednesday from 2pm – 3.30pm.


Thursday 24th October – Inclusive Job Fair

Step2Skills is delighted that their next job fair will be held at 76 Lounge at Stevenage FC, Broadhall Way, Stevenage, SG2 8RH. The Inclusive Job Fair is delivered in partnership with Stevenage Borough Council and Job Centre Plus. This Job Fair is aimed towards adult residents living in Stevenage and North Herts with learning and physical disabilities, sensory needs, neurodiversity and mental health conditions. Thursday 24th October – Let’s Play Anything Night

Lost Ark Games have an extensive board game library full of great games to play. Come and play games from their board game library. Bring your own in, meet friends and play. Play a wargame on a big table. Run a Role Playing game with friends. Play Magic: The Gathering or any other TCG. Bring a games console in. hook it up to one of our big TVs and play with your mates.

At Lost Ark Games, 29 Market Place, Stevenage, SG1 1DH. Their front door on the high street is closed from 5pm. Please use their rear entrance which can be found directly opposite the car entrance to the Westgate Multi Storey car park. Please use your sat-nav to find the car park if you are unsure. Every Thursday until at least June 2025 from 6pm – 10pm.


Saturday 26th October – ParkPlay

ParkPlay is a two-hour long play session of fun and games for everyone every Saturday morning from 10am. At Hampson Park, Stevenage, SG1 5QU. Activities are relaxed enough to attract the shy and less confident, but structured enough to reassure.


Saturday 26th October – Halloween Event

Come and join Stevenage Town Centre at Event Island on Saturday 26th October from 12 noon – 7pm for a spook-tacular day. Get into the Halloween spirit with, Pumpkin Rodeo, Balloon modelling, face painting and candy floss, slime workshop, reptile handling, photo booths, fancy dress competition and much more.


Saturday 26th October – Halloween Family Fun Day

Bring your whole family for a day of thrills, chills, and fun at this Halloween Family Fun Day. There’s something for everyone, from the tiniest trick-or-treaters to parents who want to join in the fun. Spooky Room with live exotic encounters that can be handled with guidance. Fancy Dress for kids and adults, judged at 3pm. Music, Fun and Games. Spooktakular village Halloween trail. £3.00 per child which includes a gift bag. Saturday 26th October – Halloween into Christmas Fair

A number of craft stalls selling all sorts of items for Halloween and Christmas. From knitted items to wooden puzzles and stain-glass. Handmade cards to personalised items the list is endless. Also a local author selling her children’s books a lovely gift for your children or grandchildren along with her delicious homemade cheesecakes. At Hampson Park Community Centre, Hampson Park, Webb Rise, Stevenage, SG1 5QU. Come and pick up a nice gift for Christmas or the Halloween weekend. Also the centre will be holding a raffle so do bring some cash along with you to buy a ticket support the community centre. Saturday 26th October from 12.30pm – 3.30pm.


Saturday 26th October – LEGO Club for Children

Suitable for children aged 5 to 12 years old (Under8’s must be accompanied by an adult). Places are limited so please book at Stevenage Central Library, Southgate, Stevenage, SG1 1HD. Saturdays from 3pm – 4pm.


Sunday 27th October – Steve Backshall’s Ocean

Steve Backshall’s Ocean is a love letter to the most exciting environment on our planet, and a great way to learn more about what we need to do to save our seas. Stunts, experiments, props, cutting edge science and big screen footage from his two decades in TV will all help Steve to bring the icons of the Big Blue to life. From Great whites to Great whales, seals to sardine shoals, Orca to the oddities of the deep: this is a fantastic opportunity for fans of all ages to dive deep into the wonderful world beneath the waves. Monday 28th October – Tea and Chat

Come and join this friendly group for good conversation and lots of laughs over a cuppa. They have a monthly speaker or activity, and chat and socialise on the weeks in between. No need to book, just drop in on the day. Free event, but donations are welcome. Mondays from 10.30am – 12 noon. At Stevenage Central Library, Southgate, Stevenage, SG1 1HD.


Wednesday 6th November – Reading Friends

Join our Reading Friends group on the first Wednesday of every month from 10.30am – 11.45am. Meet people and make new friend, and chat about books, hobbies and interests over a hot drink. At Stevenage Central Library, Southgate, Stevenage, SG1 1HD.


Saturday 16th November – Christmas Craft Fair

This craft fair takes place in the large school hall of Thomas Alleyne Academy, High Street, Stevenage, SG1 3BE. Saturday 16th November from 10am – 2pm.


Wednesday 20th November – Steel Bones: Stevenage Meet Up

Steel Bones supports amputee families to live life to the full, overcoming the trauma of amputation. Join fellow amputees for a chat and a catch up. Refreshments provided. Family and friends welcome. Wednesday 18th September from 12 noon – 2pm, at The Oval Community Centre, The Oval, Vardon Road, Stevenage, SG1 5RD. Next is 20th November and 18th December.


Thursday 21st November – Dementia Cafe

Come along to this dementia café and meet like-minded members of the community. Enjoy an informal chat, share experiences and receive support. Friday 22nd November – Knebworth Christmas Lights Switch-On

The village Christmas lights will be turned on at a family fun event run by the Parish Council on Friday 22nd November from 5pm – 8pm (switch on at 6pm). Browse stalls from Knebworth residents and businesses, children’s entertainment and live music. At St Martin’s Church, Knebworth.


Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th November – Knebworth Christmas Market

The Knebworth Christmas Fair will be returning to the Barns and Marquees at Knebworth House, Knebworth Park, Stevenage SG1 2AX, for a three day event on Friday 22nd, Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November. Packed with Christmas gifts, presents for all the family and delicious festive food and drink, this really is a festive event that everyone can enjoy. Come along with your friends and enjoy this festive feast of fun and entertainment and browse over 250 stalls. Friday 22nd November – Sunday 19th January – The New Adventures of Peter Pan

Take to the skies with Peter, Wendy and Tinker Bell as The Gordon Craig Theatre, Lytton Way, Stevenage, SG1 1LZ, presents their next sensational pantomime The New Adventures of Peter Pan, flying onto their stage from Friday 22nd November 2024 until Sunday 19th January 2025. Saturday 23rd November – Christmas Lights Switch On

DJ Luck and MC Neat are set to perform at Stevenage Christmas light switch-on, the garage music legends will be performing at 4.30pm alongside pop singer Channy. People will also have the chance to meet TikTok star Sevda, and of course, Santa will be in attendance to hand out gifts. There will also be festive stalls, face painting, a snow globe, and so much more. Saturday 23rd November from 12 noon – 5.30pm.

Saturday 7th December – Crafty Christmas Chemistry

Saturday 7th December – Community Celebration 

A cooperative celebration between Councillors, officers and the community. Turn on the lights, sing in the festive season in the precinct and visit the stalls in the community centre , enjoy a cuppa and cake with your neighbours. Sunday 15th December – TrackPlay

A fun and entertaining time for kids who love trains. With over 500 feet of Track and over 100 Thomas and his friends trains to choose from. Kids will be raving about the experience for a long time.
