Wednesday 1st May – Reading Friends

Join our Reading Friends group on the first Wednesday of every month from 10.30am – 11.45am. Meet people and make new friend, and chat about books, hobbies and interests over a hot drink. At Stevenage Central Library, Southgate, Stevenage, SG1 1HD.


Wednesday 1st May – Meet and Compete Board Game Group

The group meet in the front area of Stevenage Central Library, Southgate, Stevenage, SG1 1HD, to play scrabble and other board games. Free drop-in event. Every Wednesday from 2pm – 3.30pm


Wednesday 1st May – Herts Haven Cafe

Open to any young persons in Herts (ages 10 – 18) without the need for a referral. Just pop in. The service helps children and young people to build resilience by working with them to problem solve and develop coping strategies, coming up with solutions that will enable them to improve their own health and wellbeing.

They will also provide advice and guidance to parents/families/carers and professionals to ensure a holistic response to supporting the individual and creating a network around them to empower and enable positive change. At Bowes Lyon Young People’s Centre, St George’s Way, Stevenage, SG1 1XY. Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3.30pm – 8pm, and Saturdays 12 noon – 5pm.


Saturday 4th May – Stevenage Indoor Market

If you have not recently visited Stevenage Indoor Market why not come and give them a try, you will be pleasantly surprised by the range and quality of goods and services on offer. At Stevenage Town Centre.


Monday 13th May – Tea and Chat

Come and join this friendly group for good conversation and lots of laughs over a cuppa. They have a monthly speaker or activity, and chat and socialise on the weeks in between. No need to book, just drop in on the day. Free event, but donations are welcome. Mondays from 10.30am – 12 noon. At Stevenage Central Library, Southgate, Stevenage, SG1 1HD.


Monday 13th May – IT Champions

IT Champions offer one-to-one support, problem-solving, and online safety advice for users of the library computers and WiFi. Every Monday from 2pm – 4pm. At Stevenage Central Library, Southgate, Stevenage, SG1 1HD.


Thursday 16th May – Dementia Cafe

Come along to this dementia café and meet like-minded members of the community. Enjoy an informal chat, share experiences and receive support. Saturday 22nd June – Becoming Dad

Becoming Dad is an inclusive workshop for new and expectant fathers to help them to connect with and understand their babies’ needs. Supported by trained facilitators from the Family Support Service, this workshop offers expectant and new fathers an informal and relaxed space to talk through any thoughts and challenges dad to dad as they transition into parenthood.
