Wednesday 4th March – A Special Cup
Join Bishop’s Stortford Methodist Church, 34B South Street, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 3AZ, every week on a Wednesday from 12 noon – 4pm. They do a bring and share lunch, have a good chat and then play games. Come make new friends or meet with old ones.

Thursday 5th March – Compassionate Café

Friday 6th March – Chatty Cafe

Friday 6th March – Storytime
Half an hour of stories and rhymes which pre-schoolers will love. This activity is free, but donations are welcome. At Bishop’s Stortford Library, The Causeway, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 2EJ, Fridays from 10.30am.

Saturday 7th March – Castle Park Parkrun

Sunday 8th March – Junior Parkrun
A free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for juniors 4-14 year olds. The event takes place at Grange Paddocks Leisure Centre, Rye Street, Bishops Stortford, CM23 3HH, every Sunday from 9am. Every week we grab a post parkrun coffee in a local café. For further information click here

Monday 9th March – Quiet Book Club
Discover new books and authors, connect with fellow book lovers and unwind and de-stress in a relaxed atmosphere. There will be time at the end of each session to have an informal chat about what you are reading and, of course, plenty of time to relax and read. No booking necessary. Refreshments provided. Saturday 28th March – Farmers Market
The Elsenham Farmers Market is on the last Saturday of the month from 12.30pm – 2.30pm, at Elsenham Village Hall (School Hall), High Street, Bishop Stortford. Come and join them and treat yourself to some fabulous produce, meet a friend for a coffee and cake, grab something delicious for lunch and support small, independent businesses and shop local.

Friday 10th April – A Noise Annoys
A Noise Annoys is a poetry show for all the senses! It features rhymes, noises, songs, surprises and lots of audience interaction. Bursting with joyful humour and witty wordplay, Jude takes the audience on a mind-bending journey through the sounds of langauge and the language of sounds. There is lots of joy, a healthy dose of nonsense, and a few heartfelt moments of beautiful hush. The show is best suited to families with children age 6+. Sunday 12th April – Guided Walk
Enjoy a guided walk around Thorley Wash Nature Reserve to enjoy the sights and sounds of this special place as we move into spring. Led by a volunteer Warden, learn about, and possibly see, some of the residents and seasonal visitors such as warblers and water voles and look out for other signs of spring. In spring, you will find this reserve alive with birdsong and spring and early summer are also a great time to discover wildflowers, with the golden yellow of Marsh Marigold, amethyst spikes of Purple Loosestrife and the bright pinks of Ragged Robin. Please be aware there is a deep step up to the bridge that leads across the Stort onto the reserve, which may not be suitable for people with limited mobility. Suitable for ages 8+. Wednesday 15th April – Cyber Crime and Fraud Awareness
This free drop-in event features talks from Hertfordshire Police, Hertfordshire County Council Trading Standards and Beacon Victim Care, as well as opportunities to ask questions of cyber and fraud crime prevention experts. Get advice on keeping your devices and accounts safe through passwords and 2-step verification, get better at spotting phishing and social engineering, keep up to date with the latest online, phone, email and text scams, and more. A joyful two-day celebration of children, colour and creativity, held in a welcoming community space. Creative workshops throughout the day for children and parents, a vibrant exhibition of young artists’ work, and prizes celebrating imagination and expression. Sunday 21st June – Guided Walk
Join this summer solstice for a walk around Thorley Wash to experience the sights and sounds of summer. Learn about the reserve and enjoy the summer flowers, butterflies and birdsong. You will also look out for signs of water voles and may even catch sight of one. Please be aware there is a deep step up to the bridge that leads across the Stort onto the reserve, which may not be suitable for people with limited mobility. Suitable for adults and older children.
