Thursday 6th August – Board Games for Grown Ups

Saturday 8th August – Barclay Parkrun

Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th August – Bird Weekend
Join Hertfordshire Zoo, White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne, EN10 7QA, for their Bird Weekend. Join zookeepers for a fun-filled weekend and learn more about the World of Birds, and watch their amazing Bird show in their arena. This weekend will be dedicated to celebrating all our Birds here at the here at the Zoo, with funds raised during the weekend will go towards vital animal conservation. Sunday 9th August – Cheshunt Junior Parkrun
junior parkrun is a free, fun, friendly weekly community event, organised by volunteers of all ages, for children aged 4 to 14. These 2k events take place on Sunday mornings. click here

Monday 10th August – Chess Club
A friendly game of chess. All welcome. Free, with donations welcome. Mondays from 10am – 12.30pm, at Hoddesdon Library, 98 High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD.

Tuesday 11th August – Stitch and Bitch
Hertfordshire Studios is bringing communities together through creative talents. Free Tea’s/Coffees and biscuits provided. A safe place for your friends and family to join a group of like minded individuals who enjoy knitting, sewing, and having a good old gossip. Every Tuesday from 10.30am – 12.30pm, at Hertfordshire Studios, Brewery Road, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HF.

Tuesday 11th August – Herts Summer Parks
Completely free for young people aged 12–16 years. Activities change weekly but include inflatables, lyrical writing, climbing, graffiti art, football, jewellery making, archery, gaming/VR and more. Tuesday 11th August – Reading Group
Join this friendly social group for refreshments and good conversation. We can chat about reading, or anything and everything. It’s all about sharing stories and making new friends. All welcome, no booking needed. Free, with donations welcome. Tuesdays from 4.45pm – 5.45pm, at Hoddesdon Library, 98 High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD.

Wednesday 12th August – Teddy Bear Tea Party
Children all ages are welcome along for stories and singing in the library garden, at Hoddesdon Library, 98 High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, for a summer craft activity and an edible treasure hunt prize to enjoy with a refreshing drink. You are welcome to bring additional snacks, but please make sure these are nut-free. Spaces are limited and can be booked in the library. Wednesday 12th August from 2pm – 3pm.

Thursday 13th August – Coffee Morning Sing Along
Join a nostalgic coffee morning Sing along, where familiar tunes and timeless classics bring back the best memories. Cost from 50p for a tea/coffee plus a 50p donation per raffle ticket. Friday 14th August – Outdoor Cinema
Bring a blanket and join Love Cheshunt Outdoor Cinema in the park. Free showings at 12 noon, 3pm and 6pm. Movies as follows. 12 noon – Winner of public vote (Either Spongebob Squarepants, or Lilo and Stitch). 3pm The SpongeBob Movie: The Search for Squarepants, 6pm Mamma Mia. Food and drink stalls, face painting, dance performances and more happening throughout the day. Picnics welcome but no alcohol allowed in the park. Sunday 23rd August – Rock Around The Clocktower
Live music from incredible local bands, delicious food vendors, The George III Pop-Up Bar, Raffles and prizes, including Spurs hospitality and luxury hampers. Free entry, fun for all the family. This event is in partnership with Love Hoddesdon, and Broxbourne Council. All happening in the heart of Hoddesdon Town Centre and all in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. Thursday 27th August – Wormley Community Day
Wormley Community Day, with Face painting, animal experience, food stalls, ice cream van, music and games, picnic area (BYO blanket and chairs). No dogs allowed. At Wormley Community Centre, Fairfield Drive, Wormley, Broxbourne, EN10 6DX. Thursday 27th August from 1.30pm – 4.30pm.

Sunday 30th August – Card Market
The Card Markets have a huge variety of cards vendors. You will find cards from £1 to cards in the £1,000s. Rare cards you will not find online, bargains that do not exist in shops. You can see and feel these items up close, all under one roof. Alongside cards, there are vendors selling collectibles, accessories and many other card related items. The vendors will mostly be selling Pokemon related items with some smaller amounts of other TCG and merchandise. Free entry for carers. Just bring along proof of being carer to our door staff. Saturday 31st October – Halloween Howls with Nicky Trix
Grab your spookiest costumes and gather the whole family for a fang-tastic afternoon of fun and magic with Nicky Trix and Nambu before heading off on your trick-or-treat trail. This Halloween, join renowned entertainer Nicky Trix and his best friend Nambu the elephant, for Halloween Howls. This fast paced spook-tacular show is packed with magic, laughter and family fun. Wednesday 4th November – Older Persons Activity, Learning and Safety
Older persons activity, learning and safety (OPALS) events are sociable, seated events where you can get quality advice and help on a wide range of services available. As well as giving reassuring safety and wellbeing support, the event includes an opportunity to meet other residents in your area, safety related freebies and representatives from a variety of agencies giving advice on the services they offer. Tuesday 24th November – Comedies Quiz Night
