Friday 24th April – Knit and Natter

Open to all, from absolute beginners to experienced knitters. Bring along all your crafts whilst enjoying a chat. At Hoddesdon Library, High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD. Fridays from 10.30am – 12.30pm.


Saturday 25th April – Barclay Parkrun

A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog or run. The event takes place at Barclay Park, Hoddesdon, EN11 8PY. Saturdays from 9am, for further information click here


Saturday 25th April – St George’s Family Fun Day

St George’s Family Fun Day event with opportunities including Birds of Prey displays, medieval re-enactments and a family puppet show. Saturday 25th April from 12 noon – 5pm, at Grundy Park, Cheshunt.


Sunday 26th April – Cheshunt Junior Parkrun

junior parkrun is a free, fun, friendly weekly community event, organised by volunteers of all ages, for children aged 4 to 14. These 2k events take place on Sunday mornings. click here


Monday 27th April – Chess Club

Join Hoddesdon Library, High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, for a friendly game of chess. All welcome. Free, with donations welcome. Mondays from 10am – 12.30pm. Until at least end of June.


Tuesday 28th April – Stitch and Bitch

Hertfordshire Studios is bringing communities together through creative talents. Free Tea’s/Coffees and biscuits provided. A safe place for your friends and family to join a group of like minded individuals who enjoy knitting, sewing, and having a good old gossip. Every Tuesday from 10.30am – 12.30pm, at Hertfordshire Studios, Brewery Road, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HF.


Thursday 30th April – Board Games for Grown Ups

Drop in, have a tea or coffee, and meet others while playing fun and friendly board and card games. All welcome, no experience required. At Cheshunt Library, Turners Hill, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, EN8 8LB. Thursdays from 2pm – 3pm.


Thursday 30th April – Pint and Padel 

Pint and Padel at Hertfordshire Golf and Country Club, Broxbournebury Mansion, White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne, EN10 7PY, a relaxed and social session combining great games and a well-earned drink after. Thursdays from 7pm.


Saturday 2nd May – May Day Fayre

A delightful day at our May Day Fayre, set in the beautiful garden of Lowewood museum, High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8BH. Enjoy a wonderful mix of local charm and traditional entertainment, including Morris dancing by Etcetera Morris at 11.30am, local crafters and makers stalls, delicious cream teas, raffle and bottle tombola, hands-on craft activities and artefact handling. The museum galleries cafe and Behind the Seams exhibition will also be open, offering even more to explore throughout the day. Saturday 2nd May from 10am – 4pm.


Tuesday 5th May – Reading Group

Friendly social group for refreshments and good conversation. You can chat about reading, or anything and everything. It’s all about sharing stories and making new friends. Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May – Sun bear, Binturong and Otter weekend

Join Hertfordshire Zoo, White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne, EN10 7QA, for their Sunbear, binturong and otter weekend. Enjoy animal themed merchandise, treats and much more. This weekend will be dedicated to celebrating both species here at the Zoo, with funds raised during the weekend will go towards vital animal conservation. Sunday 31st May – Ice Age Adventure Live

Brace yourselves for a mammoth mission in the frozen world of Ice Age Adventure Live. Journey back in time to meet incredible prehistoric animals in the coolest family show this side of the arctic circle. This mammoth fun-filled family day out is the frozen tale you will never forget. Saturday 6th June – Summer Evenings at the Zoo

An exclusive after-hours adventure like no other. As the sun sets over Hertfordshire, enjoy rare evening access to Hertfordshire Zoo, White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne, EN10 7QA, and experience their animals in a calm and magical twilight setting. Step back in time as you explore our World of Dinosaurs, home to over 40 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs that come to life as the sun goes down. Discover our incredible animal habitats, from big cats to amazing species from around the world, all open for you to explore in a unique evening atmosphere. Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August – Red Panda Weekend

Join Hertfordshire Zoo, White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne, EN10 7QA, for their Red Panda Weekend. Enjoy a Red Panda fun-filled family day out learning about the species, with Red Panda-themed merchandise, treats and much more. This weekend will be dedicated to celebrating our much-loved Red Pandas at the zoo, with funds raised during the weekend will go towards vital animal conservation. Join zookeepers for a fun-filled weekend and learn more about the World of Birds, and watch their amazing Bird show in their arena. Wednesday 4th November – Older Persons Activity, Learning and Safety

Older persons activity, learning and safety (OPALS) events are sociable, seated events where you can get quality advice and help on a wide range of services available. As well as giving reassuring safety and wellbeing support, the event includes an opportunity to meet other residents in your area, safety related freebies and representatives from a variety of agencies giving advice on the services they offer.
