Friday 15th May – Knit and Natter
Open to all, from absolute beginners to experienced knitters. Bring along all your crafts whilst enjoying a chat. At Hoddesdon Library, High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD. Fridays from 10.30am – 12.30pm.

Saturday 16th May – Barclay Parkrun

Saturday 16th May – Clay Bug Making
This month’s Family Fun activity is Clay Bug Making, inspired by Lucy Cousin’s ‘A Good Place’. Join Hoddesdon Library, High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, as they read the story and help the bugs find the perfect place to live, before making your own clay bug to paint and take home. Sunday 17th May – Cheshunt Junior Parkrun
junior parkrun is a free, fun, friendly weekly community event, organised by volunteers of all ages, for children aged 4 to 14. These 2k events take place on Sunday mornings. click here

Sunday 17th May – Card Market
The vendors will mostly be selling Pokemon related items with some smaller amounts of other TCG and merchandise. There will also be collectibles, trading area, Retro Gaming, Kid Zone, Face Painting and cafe. Free entry for carers. Just bring along proof of being carer to our door staff. Monday 18th May – Chess Club
Join Hoddesdon Library, High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, for a friendly game of chess. All welcome. Free, with donations welcome. Mondays from 10am – 12.30pm. Until at least end of June.

Tuesday 19th May – Stitch and Bitch
Hertfordshire Studios is bringing communities together through creative talents. Free Tea’s/Coffees and biscuits provided. A safe place for your friends and family to join a group of like minded individuals who enjoy knitting, sewing, and having a good old gossip. Every Tuesday from 10.30am – 12.30pm, at Hertfordshire Studios, Brewery Road, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HF.

Thursday 21st May – Board Games for Grown Ups
Drop in, have a tea or coffee, and meet others while playing fun and friendly board and card games. All welcome, no experience required. At Cheshunt Library, Turners Hill, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, EN8 8LB. Thursdays from 2pm – 3pm.

Thursday 21st May – Pint and Padel
Pint and Padel at Hertfordshire Golf and Country Club, Broxbournebury Mansion, White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne, EN10 7PY, a relaxed and social session combining great games and a well-earned drink after. Thursdays from 7pm.

Friday 22nd May – Adult Craft Workshop
Make a beautiful flock of tiny sheep. You will learn how to manipulate chenille stems (pipe cleaners) to form a structure for each sheep, like a sculptor’s armature. You will then learn a wrapping technique using British wool tops to complete your sheep. Once you have completed your flock, you will be shown a variety of ways to take your sheep further, such as making them into necklaces, bracelets, sheep strings, etc. as ornaments or gifts. Sunday 24th May – Hoddesdon Model and Railway Club
Hoddesdon Model and Railway Club will be hosting their annual show on Sunday 24th May from 10am – 4pm. A fantastic day for all ages. At Broxbourne Meadows, Mill Lane, Broxbourne, EN10 7AX. Everyone is more than welcome. No need to book.

Tuesday 26th May – Open Air Cinema
Come along to Queen Eleanor Square, High Street, Waltham Cross, EN8 7BX, for this outdoor cinema. Showings, Tuesday 26th May from 11am, Zootropolis 2 from 1pm, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants and at 3pm, Wicked: For Good (Sing-Along). There will also be stalls, face painting, balloon twister and a pamper station.

Thursday 28th and Friday 29th May – Egyptology Day
This half term the Lowewood museum, High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8BH, will be holding a children’s Egyptology day, on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th May from 10.30am – 3pm. Quiet hour 3pm – 4pm by arrangement only. Please contact info@lowewoodmuseum.org.uk Admission is free.

Friday 29th May – Family Fun
This session is a brilliant way to enjoy quality time together, meet other local families and join in with playful and creative activities. Whether your family loves messy play, crafts, games or simply exploring new spaces, there is something for everyone. Costs just £2.50 per family, making it an affordable, friendly and welcoming way to spend part of your school holiday. Join Hertfordshire Zoo, White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne, EN10 7QA, for their Sunbear, binturong and otter weekend. Enjoy animal themed merchandise, treats and much more. Saturday 6th June – Summer Evenings at the Zoo
An exclusive after-hours adventure like no other. As the sun sets over Hertfordshire, enjoy rare evening access to Hertfordshire Zoo, White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne, EN10 7QA, and experience their animals in a calm and magical twilight setting. Step back in time as you explore our World of Dinosaurs, home to over 40 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs that come to life as the sun goes down. Sunday 7th June – Broxbourne Big Green Fest

Saturday 20th June – Summer Fair

Wednesday 24th June – Heritage Walk
Step back in time this summer and discover the rich local history of Hoddesdon with one of our special Heritage Walks, part of the Love Hoddesdon 2026 Midsummer Festival. Join Lowewood museum, High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8BH, for a guided circular walk. Along the way, you will hear fascinating stories about three significant families, the Warners, the Barclays and the Rawdons, who were influential in the history of Hoddesdon. The walk will explore the area surrounding Lowewood Museum before heading towards Barclay Park. From there, you will pass through the park to Beech Walk, continue to Park View, and exit via Grange Gates onto the High Road, eventually returning to the starting point. Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August – Red Panda Weekend
Join Hertfordshire Zoo, White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne, EN10 7QA, for their Red Panda Weekend. Enjoy a Red Panda fun-filled family day out learning about the species, with Red Panda-themed merchandise, treats and much more. Wednesday 4th November – Older Persons Activity, Learning and Safety
Older persons activity, learning and safety (OPALS) events are sociable, seated events where you can get quality advice and help on a wide range of services available. As well as giving reassuring safety and wellbeing support, the event includes an opportunity to meet other residents in your area, safety related freebies and representatives from a variety of agencies giving advice on the services they offer.
