Saturday 27th July – ParkPlay

ParkPlay is a national project that runs every Saturday from 10am – 12 noon. and is completely free to attend. They aim to encourage families to participate together across generations and get involved in game activities. All their games are inclusive and can be played across a range of ages in a way that keeps thing safe and most importantly fun for all the family.

There are no age restrictions to any of their projects but say if they can walk, they can play. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. For more information or to complete out one-time free sign up check out their website: https://park-play.com


Saturday 27th July – LEGO Club for Children

Join Hoddesdon Library, 98 High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, on alternative Saturdays from 2pm – 3pm for this Lego club. For ages 5 upwards, under 8’s must be accompanied by an adult during the session. To book, head in to the library or call 0300 123 4049. The next session will be Saturday 10th August.


Saturday 27th July – Summer Fair

Summer fair with bouncy castle, face painting, food stalls and more on Saturday 27th July from 1pm – 5pm. At Wormley Community Centre, Fairfield Drive, Wormley, Broxbourne EN10 6DX.


Sunday 28th July – Great Amwell Car Boot Sale

Completely flat, picturesque grassy field. Suitable for mobility scooters, wheelchairs and buggies. Fun for the kids with slides, bouncy castles and miniature rides every week. Huge variety of first-class hot food catering, all with large comfortable seating areas. Every Sunday from 9am at Hillside Farm, Pepper Hill, Great Amwell, SG12 9RZ. Monday 29th July – Baby Rhyme Time

Baby Rhyme Time at Cheshunt Library, Turners Hill, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, EN8 8LB, is half an hour of songs and rhymes for you to enjoy with your little one. Every Monday from 10am -10.30am and 11am -11.30am. Booking at the library is essential as spaces are limited.


Monday 29th July – Chess Club

Visit Hoddesdon Library, 98A High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, and join in the Chess Club. Mondays from 10am – 12 noon.


Tuesday 30th July – Storytime

These interactive story sessions are perfect for pre-school children to enjoy with their parent/carer. Join in with a mix of picture book stories and rhymes. Weekly on Tuesdays from 9.30am – 10am, at Hoddesdon Library, 98 High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD.


Wednesday 31st July – Hoddesdon Market

Hoddesdon Market is under the Clocktower every Wednesday and Friday from 9am – 3.30pm, serving up all your favourite Sourdough Cheese Toasties, Freshly roasted Barista Coffee, Homemade Cookies and Brownies. Come along and buy some lovely freshly made food using locally sourced / made ingredients, helping to support a small business that supports other small local businesses.


Wednesday 31st July – Pickleball

Stay active with Pickleball at the Laura Trott Leisure Centre, 44 Windmill Lane, Cheshunt, EN8 9AJ. Your first session is free and only £3 per sessions thereafter. No need to pre-book, just turn up and play. Every Wednesday from 1.45pm – 2.45pm.


Thursday 1st August – Sewing Bee

Come and enjoy a few hours spent with people who share your love of anything textiles and craft related, meeting every Thursday from 1pm – 3pm in the Studio at Wormley Community Centre, Fairfield Drive, Wormley, Broxbourne, EN10 6DX. You can bring your own equipment or there are a handful of sewing machines and tools available.


Thursday 1st August – Board Games

Join Cheshunt library, Turners Hill, Cheshunt, EN8 8LB, for some relaxed and friendly board games fun. They have a range of exciting games to choose from. Feel free to bring drinks and snacks, for ages 18+ No need to book, just turn up. Every Thursday from 2pm – 3pm.


Friday 2nd August – Conversation Cafe

A free informal group for those who speak English as a second language and who want to practice. Come and join Wormley Free Church, Slipe Lane, Turnford, Broxbourne, EN10 6AA, on Fridays from 1pm – 2pm. Open to those of all backgrounds and of all abilities.


Saturday 3rd August – Weird and Wonderful Story Time and Crafts

Come along and join Hoddesdon Library, 98 High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, for a morning celebrating and learning about the less fluffy creatures we can find in nature. They are excited to announce Dr Tom White, Principal Curator of the Natural History Museum will be sharing his fantastic collection of invertebrates during two free sessions on Saturday 3rd August.

At 11am – Weird and Wonderful Story Time and crafts with a chance to see some of Tom’s shells and sponges. Suitable for ages 0-8yrs, and from 11.45am – 1pm – A chance to look at the many exhibits Tom has brought and to ask questions and find out more. Suitable for ages 7 to adult.


Tuesday 6th August – Reading Group for Adults

Join this reading group for adults which meets every first Tuesday of the month at 4.45pm – 5.45pm. At Hoddesdon Library, 98A High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD.


Tuesday 13th August – Summer Storytime

Join Hoddesdon Library, 98 High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, for summer stories, fabulous crafts, then get creative and make funny fruit faces to enjoy in their summer garden. Tuesday 13th August from 10.30am – 11.30am.


Wednesday 14th August – Model Railway Day

Join Lowewood museum, High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8BH, in partnership with Hoddesdon Model Railway club for this model railway day. Wednesday 14th August from 10am – 3pm. Free admission.


Friday 16th August – Love Cheshunt

Bring a picnic and join Princess Lucia and her team of princesses and superheroes for fun in the park at this free open air event. At Grundy Park, Guinevere Gardens, Waltham Cross, EN8 8EJ. Organised by Love Cheshunt and supported by Broxbourne Council, there will be party games, face painting, glitter tattoos, meet and greets with your favourite characters and more. Friday 16th August from 12 noon – 3pm.


Saturday 17th August – Open Day

Annual event at the Harmony Garden, Shirley Close, Cheshunt, EN8 9PS, with games, cakes, plant sale and more with a 70’s theme. Saturday 17th August from 10.30am – 4pm.


Thursday 22nd August – Build a Lego Zoo

Get ready to let your creativity run wild and build a LEGO Zoo. Create your favourite LEGO zoo animals and explore different habitats from the jungle to the savannah. You will get to bring your wildest ideas to life and share them with fellow builders. Do not miss out on their zoo-per fun, big build. You can book your tickets in the library or click here. Friday 23rd August – Love Cheshunt

Bring a picnic and a chair and enjoy movies in the park with friends and family at this free open air event. Three films showings throughout the day on the big screen, 12 noon Encanto, 3pm Wonka and 6pm The Greatest Showman. Performances from LMA Dance Studios in between showings. Organised by Love Cheshunt and supported by Broxbourne Council.


Sunday 1st September – Summer Fete

Brickendon Summer Fete and Festival is on Sunday 1st September from 11.30am – 3.30pm. Come along for a fun day out for all the family. Featuring Dog show, Live music, Punch and Judy, Flying chairs, Bar, Pizza van, Burgers and hot dogs, lots of craft stalls and the fantastic Birds of prey attraction is also returning this year.


Thursday 12th – Monday 30th December – Sleeping Beauty
