Tuesday 30th April – Story Time

These interactive story sessions are perfect for pre-school children to enjoy with their parent/carer. Join in with a mix of picture book stories and rhymes. Weekly on Tuesdays from 9.30am – 10am, at Hoddesdon Library, 98 High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD.


Tuesday 30th April – Rhyme Time

Rhyme Time is a fun and interactive activity for children under 5 and their parents/carers. This engaging program provides an opportunity for little ones to explore the world of rhymes, while also creating a bonding experience for families. Tuesdays from 11am – 11.30am, at  Goffs Oak Library, Goffs Lane, Goff’s Oak, Waltham Cross, EN7 5ET


Wednesday 1st May – Hoddesdon Market

Hoddesdon Market is under the Clocktower every Wednesday and Friday from 9am – 3.30pm, serving up all your favourite Sourdough Cheese Toasties, Freshly roasted Barista Coffee, Homemade Cookies and Brownies. Come along and buy some lovely freshly made food using locally sourced / made ingredients, helping to support a small business that supports other small local businesses.


Wednesday 1st May – Memories of Hoddesdon

Join Hoddesdon Library, 98 High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, for a chance to share photos and memories of Hoddesdon. Wednesday 1st May from 10am – 12 noon.


Wednesday 1st May – Pickleball

Stay active with Pickleball at the Laura Trott Leisure Centre, 44 Windmill Lane, Cheshunt, EN8 9AJ. Your first session is free and only £3 per sessions thereafter. No need to pre-book, just turn up and play. Every Wednesday from 1.45pm – 2.45pm.


Thursday 2nd May – Sewing Bee

Come and enjoy a few hours spent with people who share your love of anything textiles and craft related, meeting every Thursday from 1pm – 3pm in the Studio at Wormley Community Centre, Fairfield Drive, Wormley, Broxbourne, EN10 6DX. You can bring your own equipment or there are a handful of sewing machines and tools available.


Thursday 2nd May – Board Games

Join Cheshunt library, Turners Hill, Cheshunt, EN8 8LB, for some relaxed and friendly board games fun. They have a range of exciting games to choose from. Feel free to bring drinks and snacks, for ages 18+ No need to book, just turn up. Every Thursday from 2pm – 3pm.


Friday 3rd May – Conversation Cafe

A free informal group for those who speak English as a second language and who want to practice. Come and join Wormley Free Church, Slipe Lane, Turnford, Broxbourne, EN10 6AA, on Fridays from 1pm – 2pm. Open to those of all backgrounds and of all abilities.


Saturday 4th May – ParkPlay

ParkPlay is a national project that runs every Saturday from 10am – 12 noon. and is completely free to attend. They aim to encourage families to participate together across generations and get involved in game activities. All their games are inclusive and can be played across a range of ages in a way that keeps thing safe and most importantly fun for all the family.

Saturday 4th May – LEGO Club for Children

Join Hoddesdon Library, 98 High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, on alternative Saturdays from 2pm – 3pm for this Lego club. For ages 5 upwards, under 8’s must be accompanied by an adult during the session. To book, head in to the library or call 0300 123 4049. The next session will be Saturday 18th May.


Saturday 4th May – Ready, Steady, Build

As part of Hertfordshire Libraries History Month, in place of their usual LEGO Club, Hoddesdon Library, 98 High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, are excited to be holding a special session where you will have the opportunity to build Hoddesdon out of Lego. Spaces are limited spaces so be sure not to miss out and book your place either in the library. Saturday 4th May from 1pm – 3pm.


Sunday 5th May – Great Amwell Car Boot Sale

Completely flat, picturesque grassy field. Suitable for mobility scooters, wheelchairs and buggies. Fun for the kids with slides, bouncy castles and miniature rides every week. Tuesday 7th May – Reading Group for Adults

Join this reading group for adults which meets every first Tuesday of the month at 4.45pm – 5.45pm. At Hoddesdon Library, 98A High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD.


Monday 13th May – Get Back To Netball

Come along to Get back to netball, sessions are for female players over 16 years and coach led, covering basic skill development and court play. Every Monday from 9.30am – 10.30am. At Wormley Netball Courts, Wormley Playing Fields, Church Lane, Wormley, EN10 7QE.


Monday 13th May – Baby Rhyme Time

Baby Rhyme Time at Cheshunt Library, Turners Hill, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, EN8 8LB, is half an hour of songs and rhymes for you to enjoy with your little one. Every Monday from 10am -10.30am and 11am -11.30am. Booking at the library is essential as spaces are limited.

Visit Hoddesdon Library, 98A High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, and join in the Chess Club. Mondays from 10am – 12 noon.


Saturday 25th – Sunday 26th May – Sun Bear, Binturong and Otter Weekend

Join Hertfordshire Zoo (Formerly Paradise Wildlife Park), White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne, EN10 7QA, on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May for Bear Weekend. With this being their first Bear Weekend since their arrival in March 2023 there is no better time to help raise awareness and support for the incredible species. Also, enjoy Bear-themed merchandise, treats and much more. Join their zookeepers as they celebrate Bear Weekend. This weekend will be part of your general admissions ticket and you will not require an additional ticket to enjoy their animal weekend. For further information click here


Thursday 30th May – Tiny Mites Music Presents: Cave Girl

With engaging puppets, original songs, lots of interaction and great dance moves to join in with, this production of Cave Girl will be a fun experience for children aged 1-10 and their families. Saturday 1st June – Evenings at Hertfordshire Zoo
