Formal gardens and lawns, flowerbeds and speciality trees surround the 200 year old Manor House and Summer House. The network of woodlands includes ancient and secondary woodland. They are protected species on the site, such as numerous colonies of Coralroot Bittercress (its main area in Hertfordshire). The ground flora supports ancient woodland indicators. The grassland areas are composed of semi-improved neutral to acid grassland with chalk grassland in Chorleywood Dell which is recognised as a key neutral grassland site in the Biodiversity Action Plan for Hertfordshire.

Croxley Common Moor SSSI Local Nature Reserve

40 hectares of historic grassland straddle the flood plain of the River Gade. The action of the river, combined with centuries of grazing, has produced the rich and diverse plant life that we see today. Without grazing animals the moor would soon become covered in dense woodland. The Common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to the diversity of its plant life.  It is also a designated Local Nature Reserve because of its value to local people. In Croxley Green.

Rickmansworth Aquadrome Local Nature Reserve

The Aquadrome has a vibrant atmosphere, shown by the wide variety of clubs and organisations that use the facilities at the Aquadrome, such as water skiing, sailing and kayaking. Walks around Batchworth (1.6km) and Bury (1.4km) and an Easy Access Trail through the wet woodland (1.3km) are a great way to explore the site. Car park is open 8am – 9:30pm 1st May – 30th September and 8am – 6pm 1st October – 30th April. At Frogmoor Lane, Rickmansworth, WD3 1NB.
