Monday 14th September – Memory Cafe
The Harpenden Memory Lane Café is open every Monday from 2pm – 3.30pm (with the exception of Bank Holidays) at The Salvation Army on Leyton Green in Harpenden. The Café is organised through a partnership between Harpenden Town Council, The Salvation Army and The Harpenden Trust’s Wellbeing Hub and is an opportunity for anyone living with dementia, and their loved ones, to enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of cake with a range of activities to participate in, should they wish to.

Monday 14th September – How to Make Sustainability Irresistible
Grab a friend and join Our Planet Our Future for an inspiring evening, with guest speaker Virginia Cinquemani author of The Good Communicator, How to Make Sustainability Irresistible. This talk is part of Our Planet Our Future, Sustainable St Albans’ landmark series of talks and events. The programme includes a variety of free events for those who want to discover more about moving towards a more sustainable life, including walks, open mic nights and a book club. Sunday 20th September – Harpenden Sustainability Market
Stallholders will have all your eco essentials, inspiring greener gifts, delicious vegan food, plus uplifting tunes from the Reverbs Ukulele Band. Sunday 20th September from 10am – 3pm. On Harpenden Common.

Sunday 20th September – Kids Table
Every Sunday from 12 noon – 4pm, The Kids’ Table team is at the Harpenden Arms, 188 St Albans Road, Harpenden, AL5 2TR, to entertain the little ones. So you can enjoy some much needed ‘me’ time while enjoying a long, leisurely lunch. Book a table and select the ‘The Kids’ Table’ offer. Places are limited so booking is advised.

Friday 25th September – Macmillan Coffee Morning
Come along and join us for a lovely morning with friends and family, enjoying delicious homemade cakes and a good cup of coffee, all while supporting a wonderful charity that has helped so many of us. Bring your loved ones, have a chat, enjoy some treats, and most importantly, help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Monday 28th September – Slipper Swap
Slipper Swap events prevent slips and trips by picking up free slippers and getting lots of advice about staying safe and well in your home. You can pick up free anti-slip slippers, find out about local social groups and clubs you might enjoy, get advice from occupational therapists and other event partners, and book a Home Fire Safety visit with the Fire Service. Wednesday 7th October – Community Companions Cafe
Afternoon tea with friendly company. They support vulnerable people and want to foster community connections so that everyone feels less alone. At Field House Care Home, 8 Townsend Road, Harpenden, AL5 4BQ. First Wednesday of the month from 2pm, until at least the end of the year.

Wednesday 7th October – Brush Party
Join Brush Party, the UK’s ‘Paint and Sip’ experts at The Harpenden Arms, 188 High Street, Harpenden, AL5 2TR on Wednesday 7th October from 7pm – 10pm, to create their fabulous theme Plumes of Gold. To book click here

Tuesday 20th October – An Evening with Tottenham Legends
An Evening with Tottenham Legends, Chris Waddle, Gary Mabbutt, along with host, former club captain Graham Roberts, to hear first-hand accounts from your favourite players, and gain a unique perspective on sport, and all things Spurs. The lads will also discuss their careers, games, dressing room/training ground stories, managers, fallouts and everything you wanted to know about playing for a successful football club. Saturday 31st October – Thank ABBA For The Music
For one night only dust off your platforms and flares for a journey back in time to when ABBA ruled the airwaves! Thank ABBA For The Music is an epic two-hour ABBA-fest that captures all of the magic and excitement of one of pop history’s most phenomenal bands. Featuring a dynamic cast of outstanding singers, dazzling choreography and interactive video projection. Monday 9th November – Environmental Board Games Evening

Sunday 22nd November – Harpenden’s Christmas Carnival
Harpenden’s Christmas Carnival will take place on Sunday 22nd November from 12 noon – 6pm. Residents and visitors are all welcome to enjoy the Christmas Carnival and all that Harpenden has to offer in its vibrant Town Centre. An exciting, magical celebration for all this Christmas, it is free to attend and everyone is welcome.

Saturday 5th – Wednesday 30th December – Rapunzel
Get ready for a hair-raising adventure about the girl with the magical golden hair as Polka Dot Pantomimes and the Eric Morecambe Centre proudly present Rapunzel. Pantomime at the Eric Morecambe Centre, Rothamsted Park, Harpenden, AL5 2FR, is always the highlight of the festive calendar and Rapunzel is the perfect Christmas outing for the whole family. As always, there will be modern songs to sing along to, huge amounts of laughter, plenty of audience participation, incredible special effects and a talking Chameleon. Monday 4th January – LEGO Club
Come along for fun challenges that build problem solving skills, spatial awareness, and creative thinking. Suitable for children aged 5-11 years old. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Tuesday 5th January – Storytime
These interactive story sessions are perfect for pre-school children to enjoy with their parent/carer. Join in with a mix of picture book stories and rhymes. Discover lots of new stories as well as old favourites. Tuesdays from 2.15pm – 2.45pm. At Harpenden Library, 27 High Street, Harpenden, AL5 2RU.

Thursday 7th January – Baby Rhyme Time
These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are a great opportunity for you to meet other families too. Baby Rhyme Time is free although donations are welcome. No booking required. For the comfort and safety of families they may have to limit numbers so entry to a session cannot be guaranteed. Saturday 30th January – Buddy Holly and The Cricketers
Five outstanding actor-musicians recreate the sound, spirit and energy of the 1950s in a night bursting with nostalgia, joy and unforgettable live music. Now revamped for 2027, it features all Buddy Holly’s greatest hits plus classics from Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, The Everly Brothers and many more.
