Monday 24th February – Craftea Morning

Join this craft group every Monday morning from 10am – 12 noon, a chance to meet other crafters and chat over a cup of tea or coffee. Everyone is welcome, just bring along your current craft project and join in. This is a great informal group where you can relax, enjoy good conversation and pick up a few hints and tips. At Welwyn Garden City Central Library, Campus West, AL8 6AJ.


Monday 24th February – Storytime

Join Welwyn Garden City Library, Campus West AL8 6AJ, for Storytime, every Monday from 2.15pm – 2.45pm, in the children’s area of the Library. They will share a selection of books and rhymes at each session. Perfect for under 5’s, no booking needed. These are free session but donations are welcome.


Tuesday 25th January – Active Rhyme Time

Active rhymes and songs for your baby and toddler. A great way to meet other families and develop your child’s communication and physical skills. Tuesdays from 1.30pm – 2.15pm, at Oak Tree Children’s Centre, Holwell Road, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 3RP. £2.50 per family drop in. Pay on the day.


Wednesday 26th February – Pop up Dental Clinic

Pop up dentist sessions offer a free dental screening for children under 5. After the screening, the dentist will provide you with an age appropriate toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste for your child. Wednesday 26th February from 9.30am – 12 noon and 1.30pm – 4pm. At Creswick Family Centre, Welwyn Garden City.


Thursday 27th February – Physical Fun

A fun, active session where you can meet other local families and enjoy lots of fun games and play opportunities to support your child with their physical development. Thursdays from 10am – 11am. £2.50 per family drop in, pay on the day. At Panshanger Church, 24 Hardings, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 2EJ.


Thursday 27th February – Baby Rhyme Time

Fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are a great opportunity for you to meet other families too. Baby Rhyme Time is free though donations are welcomed. No booking required. Every Thursday from 10.30am – 11am and 2.30pm – 3pm. At Welwyn Garden City Central Library, Campus West AL8 6AJ.


Friday 21st February – Melody Monkeys

Fun weekly drop in sessions at Hyde Cricket club Beehive Lane, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 4BP, with lots of music, singing, movement, parachute activities, bubbles, instrument play, action songs, puppets, dancing, stories, lights and more. These are mixed age sessions for 0-5s, although it is recommend that babies are sitting up before attending (smaller babies welcome free with older siblings). If you sign up for the term, the fee is reduced.

Each week will be a different theme so learning covers a huge range of areas, such as Seasons, Jungle, Jobs, Farm, Pets, Transport, Food and Under the Sea to name just a few. Sessions promote early years learning, with activities that involve creating sounds, using rhythmic movement, counting skills and exploring rhythms to name just a few. They also help children to develop core areas such as improving their listening skills and ability to follow instructions, whilst building confidence and developing healthy peer interactions. Friday 28th February – IT Champions

IT Champions offer one-to-one support, problem-solving, and online safety advice for users of the library computers and WiFi. Fridays from 11am – 1pm. At Welwyn Garden City Central Library, Campus West, Welwyn Garden City, AL8 6AJ.


Friday 28th February – Hertfordshire Libraries Centenary Launch 

Today marks exactly 100 years since the establishment of the countywide library service. Join Hertfordshire Libraries on their 100th anniversary to launch their centenary celebrations. The evening will feature speeches, an interactive session with a local artist, live music, and the unveiling of the touring exhibition exploring the rich history of Hertfordshire libraries. Saturday 1st March – ParkPlay

ParkPlay is a two-hour long play session of fun and games for everyone every Saturday morning from 10am. At King George V Playing Fields, Beehive Lane, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 4BP. Activities are relaxed enough to attract the shy and less confident, but structured enough to reassure.


Saturday 1st March – Food and Craft Market

Local and national traders selling a wide range of produce, gifts, crafts and much more. Hot and cold food stalls from your favourite regular traders as well as guest food stalls. Saturday from 10am – 4pm. Every first and third Saturday of the month. At Welwyn Garden City Town Centre.


Saturday 1st March – Reading Friends

A social group where you can talk about books, share stories and make new friends. Free to join, no booking needed. Donations welcome. Running on the first Saturday of every month, 2pm – 3pm. At Welwyn Garden City Central Library, Campus West, AL8 6AJ.


Saturday 8th March – Dreamcoat Stars

Stars of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat sing the biggest musical hits of a generation. The concert includes everyone’s favourite West End and Broadway classics. Sunday 16th March – Knebworth TrackPlay

A fun and entertaining time for kids who love trains. With over 500 feet of Track and over 100 Thomas and his friends trains to choose from. Kids will be raving about the experience for a long time . Sunday 6th April – The Peculiar Market: Bloomin’ Bizarre

An established alternative market in Hertfordshire, bringing together over 20 incredible independent and small businesses. they specialise in offering gothic, horror, and whimsical art, décor, jewellery, clothing, and more. Whether you are looking for something weird, wonderful, or just a little different, this is the place to be. Come along and support small alternative businesses. Sunday 6th April from 10am – 4pm. Monday 7th April – Dinosaur Adventure Live

Join the intrepid rangers on a quest to recover the data crystal, restore power to the island and save the Dinosaurs. An unforgettable Jurassic experience for all the family to enjoy. Learn their history with amazing Dino-facts, meet the beautiful baby dinosaurs and even feed them. Friday 9th May –  40th Anniversary Display: Open Day

This is an invitation to anyone interested in becoming a professional pyrotechnician, someone who ‘fires’ professional fireworks displays, to join a special occasion. As part of a 40th anniversary celebrations, this exhibition display on Friday 9th May at Brocket Hall, Welwyn Garden City, AL8 7XH. If you would like to come and see what it’s like to be part of one of the UK’s top fireworks display teams, this is your chance. Saturday 14th June – Vegan Market

Welwyn Garden City event takes over Stonehills Square, right in the centre of the town (between John Lewis and the Howard Centre), throughout the year. The event brings together a huge variety of vegan street food vendors, artisan bakers, craft brewers, ethical jewellers, sustainable chandlers, local artists, zero-waste champions, environmental charities and loads more. Saturday 8th February from 10.30am – 4pm. Future dates 11th October 2025.


Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd June – Welwyn Garden City Vintage Festival

The WGC Vintage Festival is a two day and three evening, international live music and dance weekend, organised by JiveSwing.Com and sponsored by the businesses of Welwyn Garden City.
