Friday 28th March – Ware Country Market
Weekly Country Market with plenty of goods on offer from local bakers, producers and makers all under one roof. Fridays from 9am – 12 noon. At Leaside Church and Community Centre, High Street, Ware, SG12 9BT.

Friday 28th March – Board Games Club
Weekly adult Board Games Club at Ware Library, High Street, Ware, every Friday 2pm – 3.30pm. Meet new people and bring out your competitive streak. Until at least end of September 2025.

Saturday 29th March – Spring Wreath Workshop
Do you want to brighten up your front door for Spring and Easter? then this perfect Spring workshop is for you. Create your own seasonal wreath with local gardener and florist Debbie Kendrick from Dragonfly Gardens/ DK Designs. You will learn how to wrap a wreath ring in moss, and how to place your foliage for a full, layered effect. You will create a beautiful wreath with many textures and foliage’s from the Spring garden. Sunday 30th March – Mum2mum Market
Come and shop pre loved, good condition all things baby, children and maternity with 20+ stalls to browse. At The Riverside Hall, The Age Concern Centre, Priory Street, WARE, SG12 0DE. Sunday 30th March from 10am – 12 noon.

Tuesday 1st April – Baby Rhyme Time
These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are a great opportunity for you to meet other families too. Tuesdays from 10.30am – 11am. At Ware Library, 41-45 High Street, Ware, SG12 9BA.

Tuesday 1st April – IT Champion
IT Champions offer one-to-one support, problem-solving, and online safety advice for users of the library computers and WiFi. Every Tuesday from 2pm – 4pm. At Ware Library, 41-45 High Street, Ware, SG12 9BA.

Wednesday 2nd April – Community Cafe
Come along to this monthly friendly café. Join like-minded members of the community and enjoy a complimentary coffee and cake whilst sharing experiences and meeting the friendly team at Snowdrop House Care Home, Baldock Street, Ware, SG12 9DT. Until at least June 2025. Wednesday from 10.30am – 12 noon, next May 7th and June 4th.

Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th April – Spring Gala
The East Herts Miniature Railway Society Ltd Spring Gala will be held on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th April. Established for over 40 years, they are a 7 1/4” Gauge independent Miniature Railway located in the Hertfordshire countryside. Located within the grounds of Van Hage Garden Centre in Great Amwell (near Ware, SG12 9RP). There is no age limit to riding on the train. Fares can be paid on site via cash or card. £1.50 per person with under 24 month old travelling free with an adult fare-paying passenger. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an older fare paying passenger.

Wednesday 9th April – Maltings Stitch Café
Maltings Stitch Café is a fortnightly drop-in group from 10am – 1pm, for those seeking to stitch, make new friends and share ideas. Whether your style is embroidery or machine stitching, felting or tapestry, everyone is welcome to this friendly group. All levels are welcome too, whether you are a novice with a needle or an expert seamstress. You can bring your own projects to work on, whilst socialising in their Café. Friday 11th April – Easter Mosaic Decorations
Create your own Easter themed mosaic. This workshop is designed for children, young people and adults too. Come as a family or with your friends and create beautiful mosaic art pieces that you can take home and cherish for years to come. No experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided. Friday 11th April – Ware Poets
Ware poets welcome two poets this evening, both winners of their Ware Poets Competition 2024. Damen O’Brien won First Prize and Hetty Cliss won the Sonnet Prize as well as two commendations. Damen is visiting from Australia, so this is a rare opportunity to hear him read in Britain. There will be a reduced open mic slot this evening, but if you have a poem you would like to read, do bring it and they will accommodate you if they can. Friday 11th and Saturday 12th April – The House Of George
This small amateur dramatics group have a upcoming show on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th April, at Thundridge Village Hall, Ermine Street, Thundridge, Ware, SG12 0SY. The show is called The House of George: The Complete Story, a ghostly comedy which is sure to entertain. Please Note that there will be very short bursts of strobe lighting throughout the show. Monday 14th April – The Big Herts Hero Hunt
Take on the ultimate challenge and uncover the secrets of Hertfordshire’s heroes. Pākiki Theatre presents The Big Herts Hero Hunt, an interactive theatre show, exploring Hertfordshire’s wonderful heritage. The show will introduce suffragist Louisa Puller, racing driver Lewis Hamilton, scientist Alfred Russell Wallace, writer and illustrator Beatrix Potter, well-being pioneer Ebenezer Howard and daredevil Dolly Shepherd. The audience will help our Hero Hunters discover these people and their legacy using clues, a map, problem solving, drama, fun facts, and time travel, working as a team to uncover the future heroes of Hertfordshire.

Tuesday 15th April – Paddington In Peru

Saturday 19th April – Easter Fun
Join The Red Lion, High Street, Stanstead Abbotts, Ware, SG12 8AA, for a day full of Easter excitement on Saturday 19th April from 12 noon – 3pm, meet the Easter Bunny, Children’s colouring competition, face painting, BBQ and Easter raffle.

Saturday 19th April – Easter Fun Day
Fun Day for all the family at Ware Priory, High Street, Ware, SG12 9AL. Join them for an Easter Egg hunt for under 8’s in the Priory gardens, plus egg decorating competition in Fletcher’s Lea, winners will be judged by the Mayor of Ware with prizes up for grabs. Free to attend. Saturday 19th April from 1.30pm – 3.15pm.

Sunday 20th April – Farmers’ Market
Monthly Farmers Market at Tudor Square, Ware, SG12 9XF, with an array of stalls offering quality food and drink, made locally by small independent producers and businesses. Held on the 3rd Sunday of the month, every market will have a twist or theme. Pop by and pick up something delicious, enjoy food demonstrations and live music. Sunday from 10am – 1pm. Not on in July, August or December.

Monday 21st April – Monster Mania
Scott’s Grotto usual Easter Egg hunt this year is instead Monster Mania. Kids can find the monsters around the Grotto and receive a mini monster if they spot them all. As always, bring a torch (on a phone is a fine) and wear comfortable shoes. A visit will take around half an hour / 45 minutes. Getting around the site is tricky for people with mobility issues. Saturday 26th April – Train and Track Play
Train and Track Play is an organised session for children to integrate and socialise with other children through playing with toy trains and cars. Let your child explore the world of vehicles through exciting, tunnels, bridges, turntables, roads, garages, sidings and ignite their imagination and creativity. On now until – Wednesday 30th April – Ware Poetry Competition
Ware Poets have just launched their 27th annual Open Poetry Competition with prizes for the best poems and the best sonnet. The competition is open to everyone, avid poets and first-time writers. Poems must be in English, be your own original work and no longer than 50 lines. Entry is £5 per poem. Poems can be submitted and paid for online or by post. Thursday 8th May – VE-Day 80th Anniversary
Commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE-Day at Ware Priory, The Priory, High Street, Ware, SG12 9AL. Enjoy entertainment from Swingdanceuk, fish and chips and performances from the Miss Jones jazz band. Free entry. Thursday 8th May from 6pm – 9.30pm, with a special beacon lighting and flag ceremony.

Saturday 17th May – Artisan Craft Fair
Folk and Bespoke aims to bring you something different, they aim to be a unique shopping experience, a celebration of small independent businesses and time served craftspeople. This Artisan Craft Fair is on Saturday 17th May from 10am – 3pm, with free entry, at Ware Drill Hall, 17 Amwell End, Ware, SG12 9HP.

Sunday 1st June – Summer Concert: Steve Young
Free summer concert taking place on the back lawn at Ware Priory, High Street, Ware, SG12 9AL. Picnics and lawn chairs welcome, the Priory bar will be available. Sunday 1st June from 3pm – 5pm.

Tuesday 3rd June – Dragonflies of Amwell
An introduction to some of the dragonflies and damselflies of Amwell Nature reserve. Suitable for adults. Please note there are no toilets available at the reserve. Sunday 8th June – Summer Art and Craft Market
The Summer Art and Craft Market is in its 5th year and will be held indoors and outdoors in the garden at Southern Maltings, Kibes Lane, Ware, SG12 7BS, on Sunday 8th June from 10am – 3pm. With local creatives, designers, and makers, you could take home something unique for yourself or a gift for a friend. The market will feature local talented printmakers, fine artists, graphic designers, leather crafters, textiles, glass blowing, stained and fused glass, jewellery, macramé, paper crafting, ceramics, crochet, embroidery, candle making and much more. Refreshments will be available in their café.

Saturday 14th June – Summer Concert: Old Time Sailors

Sunday 20th July – Food Festival
Celebrating fantastic local food and produce at Ware Priory, High Street, Ware, SG12 9AL. Free entry, with live music, entertainment and free children’s face painting. Sunday 20th July from 12 noon – 4pm.

Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd December – Christmas Winterfest Market
This Christmas Winterfest Market at the Southern Maltings, Kibes Lane, Ware, SG12 7BS, is always early and always a hit. This year it is on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd November. This bumper market will be run across two floors, and will showcase local high-quality art, local farmers produce and crafts, Christmas decorations and wreaths, toys, books, jewellery, handcrafted homeware and other small, local boutique businesses. Mini-Christmas photoshoots of you and your family in magical Christmas scenes will be available. Food and drinks also available including mulled wine and mince pies. Entry is a donation of £1.
