Friday 18th October – Ware Country Market

Weekly Country Market with plenty of goods on offer from local bakers, producers and makers all under one roof. Fridays from 9am – 12 noon. At Leaside Church and Community Centre, High Street, Ware, SG12 9BT.


Saturday 19th October – Coffee Morning

Coffee morning serving tea and coffee and an abundance of homemade cakes, available by a donation to Herts/Essex (Ware) Samaritans. Ware Christadelphian Church, Church Street, Ware, SG12 9EH. Saturday 19th October from 10.30am – 12.30pm.


Sunday 20th October – Farmers’ Market 

Monthly Farmers Market at Tudor Square, Ware, SG12 9XF, with an array of stalls offering quality food and drink, made locally by small independent producers and businesses. Held on the 3rd Sunday of the month, every market will have a twist or theme. Pop by and pick up something delicious, enjoy food demonstrations and live music. Sunday from 10am – 1pm.


Sunday 20th October – Vintage and Retro Fair

Shop unique vintage and retro fashion and homewares. Plus jewellery, furniture, kitchenware, kitsch, art and collectables. There will be a vintage cafe serving lovely hand made cakes. Live music, DJ and more. Entry £2. At The Drill Hall, 17 Amwell End, Ware, SG12 9HP. Sunday 20th October from 10am – 4pm. Ware Drill Hall is a Victorian barrel-vaulted building constructed in iron, making it a great space in which to hold a fair.


Thursday 24th October – Laughter Yoga 

Laughter Yoga is all about laughing for no reason by using laughter techniques without relying on humour, jokes or comedy. It encourages playfulness, and in most cases soon leads to real and contagious laughter. The body cannot tell the difference between real and fake laughter, so we reap all the health benefits just for laughing. Thursday from 7pm – 8pm, at Fletchers Lea, High Street, Ware, SG12 9AL.

During the evening session leader Tracey will be giving a brief introduction about the main reasons why Laughter Yoga can benefit our health and well-being, followed by lots of laughter exercises. You may feel one or more of the benefits of a good hearty laugh which can include: boosted energy, less stressed, tension release and feelings of lightness. Friday 25th October –  Spooky Storytime

Join Ware Library, High Street, Ware, SG12 9BA, on Friday 25 October from 10.30am – 11am, for a very special Spooky Storytime. They will have a Halloween craft and some fun themed stories. Spaces are limited, so please book a place at the enquiry desk with a member of staff. This event is free, with donations welcome.


Saturday 26th October – Lego Club

Come along to this monthly Lego Club at Ware Library, High Street, Ware, SG12 9AD. Test your building skills, complete their challenges and earn a master builder certificate. For ages 5-12 (children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult). £4, please book at the library. Saturday 31st August from 10.30am – 11.30am.


Saturday 26th October – Circus Life Drawing

A unique circus drawing experience. Sketch, draw or paint a professional aerialist in action, working on aerial equipment above your head in dynamic and static poses. In a relaxed atmosphere you can also draw seated performers posing in colourful costumes to really help you capture the spirit of the circus. You do not need any previous experience to have a great time at this circus drawing event.

All basic drawing materials and paper are provided, but you can bring your own materials if you like. The fabulous artist and educator Julie Arnall will be on hand if you need help and drawing tips. The Circus Life Drawing is part of Arts in East Herts, an exciting new initiative to boost participation in arts and culture in the area. At Ware Drill Hall, Amwell End, Ware, SG12 9HP. Tuesday 29th October – Gaming Screens

Turn up and test your gaming skills at Fletchers Lea, High Street, Ware, SG12 9AL. Open to all gamers age 7 and above, no need to book. Free to take part. Tuesday 29th October from 12 noon – 4pm.


Wednesday 30th October – Halloween Collaboration

Little City East Herts and Train and Trackplay will be collaborating this year for a Spooky (not scary) Halloween Special. Wednesday 30th October – Stitch Cafe

Maltings Stitch Café is a fortnightly drop-in group for those seeking to stitch, make new friends and share ideas. Whether your style is embroidery or machine stitching, felting or tapestry, everyone is welcome to this friendly group. You can bring your own projects to work on, whilst socialising in the Café, with a cuppa. This is a drop in session open to all, with no need to book, so just pop by and say hello. Wednesday 30th October – LEGO Play Day

All ages welcome to attend Ware Town Councils free LEGO Play Day at Fletcher’s Lea, High Street, Ware, SG12 9AL. Simply turn up and join in, booking not required. Wednesday 30th October from 12 noon – 4pm.


Thursday 31st October – Ware Halloween Ghost Walk

Join Ware Ghost Walk host, John Wing for one of two Spooky Tales and Curious incidents about Ware’s rich and fascinating past. Walks meet at the Ware Priory Gates, Costs are £7.50 per person, advance bookings only please. Please email [email protected] to secure places.


Saturday 2nd November – Train and Track Play

Exciting sessions with 100’s of battery-run Thomas and Friends trains, tunnels, bridges, Hot Wheels tracks, and more! Perfect for all little car and train enthusiasts. Train and Track Play is an organised session for children to integrate and socialise with other children through playing with toy trains and cars. Sunday 3rd November – Christmas Gift Market

This pop-up Christmas Gift Market at the Southern Maltings is always early and always a hit. This year it is on Sunday 3rd November from 10am – 4pm. Packed to the rafters with two floors of curated, handpicked stalls with unique, handmade or boutique gifts for a local Christmas, from makers, artists and small, local independent businesses. Including Christmas workshops, mulled wine and local fayre, plus mini-Christmas photoshoots of you and your family in magical Christmas scenes will be available. Friday 8th November – All Nations Christian College: Open Day

This programme provide learning and new skills for those heading into cross-cultural mission service for the first time as well as in-depth, developmental learning for experienced mission workers. Discover more at an open day, designed to inform and inspire and help you make the right decision about your next step. Friday 8th November – Artisan Craft Fair 

This folk and bespoke artisan craft fair aims to bring you something different. A celebration of small independent businesses and time served craftspeople. Saturday 9th November – Hunsdon JMI School Firework Night

Spectacular Fireworks on Saturday 9th November, gates open at 5pm, display at 6.15pm. Bring your family and friends along to enjoy this fantastic event. We guarantee a fun-filled evening with plenty of excitement and entertainment for all ages. Food stalls will be available, offering a variety of delicious treats to satisfy your cravings. Monday 18th November – Watercolour Christmas Cards Workshop

This gorgeous workshop will get you in the festive spirit. Together you will create some fun and festive watercolour Christmas Cards. This workshop is ideal for beginners or those fairly new to watercolours who are looking for new ideas or to gain confidence in using watercolours for a purpose. Using watercolours and waterproof fine liners, you will create a set of Watercolour Christmas cards and learn the techniques to create lots more at home, to send to all your friends and family for that ultra special personal touch. Saturday 23rd November – Christmas Fayre

Join the Jolly Fisherman, 8 Station Road, Stanstead St Margarets, Ware, SG12 8DH, on Saturday 23rd November from 11am – 3pm, for their Christmas Fayre. With a selection of Stalls, Christmas crafts, Games, Live Music and of course Mulled wine and hot chocolate.


Sunday 1st December – Christmas Market

Stock up on tasty Christmas treats, local artisan food and handcrafted gifts for Christmas and a glass of mulled wine to celebrate. Run across two floors for another bumper Christmas market, with artisan food and produce on the ground floor, with local quality crafts, fresh wreaths and Christmas table arrangements and gifts on the top floor, including jewellery, glass, ceramics, beauty products and much more, alongside their bar with mulled wine, sausage rolls, mince pies and other Christmassy delights.

Plus there will be fresh coffees and hot chocolate in the downstairs café. Festive Workshops will also be available. At Southern Maltings, Kibes Lane, Ware, SG12 7BS. Sunday 1st December from 10am – 3pm. Entry is a donation of £1. Southern Maltings is the trading name of Ware Arts Centre Limited and is a registered charity (Registered charity no. 276998). All events are run by volunteers and proceeds go towards developing the Southern Maltings into an amazing creative arts centre which will enable them to put on a wider and more frequent range of events and activities for the whole community.


Monday 2nd December – Slipper Swap

Old slippers often cause trips and falls, which could lead to an unnecessary stay in hospital and loss of independence. Older residents can swap their old slippers for a brand-new free pair of anti-slip ones – and find out more about keeping themselves safe and well at the same time. Monday 2nd December from 10am – 1pm, at Ware Library, 87 High Street, Ware, SG12 9AD. Just come along and library staff will not only be on hand to help you but to introduce you to their services for older people such as information; activities; the Home Library Service, and book a Home Fire Safety visit with the Fire Service.


Friday 6th December – Ware Dickensian Evening

Ware travels back in a time before cars and people stopped in the street to exchange news. Join them for Dickensian 2024 – stalls, street food, fun fair rides, craft stalls, music and multiple locations including a new Christmas Arcade near the Ware Bear on the High Street. Friday 6th December from 6pm.


Sunday 8th December – A Christmas Carol by The Pantaloons

The critically-acclaimed Pantaloons Theatre Company present a brand-new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ fantastical festive fable. Performed by a multi-talented cast in The Pantaloons’ own inimitable, hilarious and moving style, this will be an evening out to remember. Featuring live music and audience interaction. Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th December – Christmas Experience

You and your family will enter through Southern Maltings’ Malt Garden, other wise known as the Christmas Tree Farm, where an elf will greet you. Their elf will guide you into the wonderous Elf workshop, where you will paint and colour your very own Christmas decorations. Once your decorations are complete, the Elf will show you to your seats in our woodland theatre, ready for Dan ‘Eend their woodland elf who will perform a reworked version of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Little Christmas Tree.

Whilst waiting to see Santa in his Grotto, you will have the opportunity to view the Christmas Village and play with knock down Olaf and other Christmas themed games. Their magical Santa’s grotto will delight your young ones where they can tell Santa what they would like for Christmas and have a photo taken with the man himself.
