Monday 9th September – Take a moment

Experience how it feels to use some unusual techniques to apply paint onto a canvas, create your own picture and feel good about it. Using acrylic paint, step by step you will learn simple painting techniques to create this style of painting. Come and have a go and amaze yourself with what you can do. Wednesday 11th September – Herford Astronomy Group

Your local astronomy club for Hertford, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, St Albans and surrounding area. A Friendly group of people with a common interest in astronomy. A monthly meeting at the University of Hertfordshire, Lindop Building, College Lane, Hatfield, AL10 9AB. They broadcast it live on Zoom for those unable to get to the University and they also publish the meetings on YouTube (subject to the speaker’s consent). Thursday 12th September – Hertfordshire Funding Fair

Community Help Hertfordshire and Herts Sport and Physical Activity Partnership invite you to the Hertfordshire Funding Fair. Community groups, charities, voluntary organisations, sports clubs, faith groups and social enterprises in Hertfordshire are welcome to attend for free. Thursday 12th September from 9.30am – 1pm, at University of Hertfordshire, de Havilland Campus,

Friday 13th September – Baby Rhyme Time

These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are an opportunity for you to meet other families too.  Every Friday from 10.30am – 11am and 11.30am – 12 noon, at Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, 26-32 Town Centre, Hatfield, AL10 0LD.


Tuesday 17th September – LEGO Spike Club

LEGO Spike combines colourful Lego building elements, easy-to-use hardware, and an intuitive drag-and-drop coding language based on Scratch1, engaging children through playful learning activities to think critically and solve complex problems. Tuesday 17th September from 4.15pm, at Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, Hatfield AL10 0LD. Suitable for ages 11-13. You can book at the library.


Saturday 21st September – Book Swap

Come and join this book swap, where you can swap a book and enjoy some refreshments. Every first and third Saturday of the month from 10am- 12 noon. At North Mymms Memorial Hall, Station Road, Welham Green, Hatfield, AL9 7PG.


Saturday 21st September – Hatfield Community Event

Join Hatfield Town Council at White Lion Square in Hatfield Town Centre on Saturday 21st September from 11am – 4pm, for Hatfield Town Council’s Community Event. This family-focused community day will include a variety of stalls from different cultures selling high-quality goods and produce, foods, games, arts and crafts. There will be a range of interactive family entertainment for all ages, including face painting, an immersive photobooth experience, engaging performances, local information, and activity stations.


Friday 27th September – Macmillan Coffee Morning

The Red Lion, 88 Great North Road, Hatfield, AL9 5EU, are participating in the worlds biggest coffee morning again. Their coffee morning will take place on Friday 27th September from at 9.30am. Feel free to bring your own baked yummy goods and connect with friends, all raising money for an amazing cause.


Friday 27th September – Paint a Magnificent Sunset

Inspired by this painting of a magnificent sunset experience how it feels to apply different coloured paint in layers onto a canvas to create your own picture. Using acrylic paint, step by step you will learn simple painting techniques to create this style of painting. Come and have a go and amaze yourself with what you can do. No experience is necessary. Thier highly experienced art tutors will guide you through the process of painting your picture, step by step, so that you can relax and just enjoy the experience. Sunday 29th September – Antique and Vintage Fair

This huge indoor venue will be packed full of stalls selling all manner of weird and wonderful items. From quality antiques, to vintage fashion, furniture to jewellery, collectables, curios or art. Whether it’s that unusual gift or that cool period piece for your home, there really will be something to suit all tastes and budgets. Sunday 29th September – Wedding Fair

A spectacular Wedding Fair held in the historic Old Palace and contemporary Riding School at Hatfield House, Hatfield Park, Hatfield, AL9 5HX. As well as up to sixty leading wedding professionals from Hertfordshire and beyond, this unique and long running Wedding Fair often also includes masterclasses on wedding related topics. Whilst part of the Old Palace will be decorated and dressed for a wedding offering you an insight and inspiration.

There are fashion shows at 12:30pm and 2pm featuring the very latest bridal and couture gowns. Knowledgeable staff from Hatfield House Hospitality will be available to discuss your wedding ideas and to offer tips and advice. Sunday 6th October – Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club

Open to all those who served, or who are still serving in HM Armed Forces. They meet on the first Sunday of each month from 10am. At Harpsfield Hall, Parkhouse Court, Hatfield, AL10 9RQ.


Monday 7th October – Quiz Night

These monthly quiz nights are held on the first Monday of every month from 8pm, at The Red Lion, 88 Great North Road, Hatfield, AL9 5EU. With several rounds of trivia and a picture round, their quiz master will get your brains itching. Teams are a maximum of 6. Booking is not essential but is advised to avoid disappointment.

Hertfordshire Sports Village, Hatfield Business Park Park Office, De Havilland Campus, Mosquito Way, Hatfield AL10 9EU, The huge carpeted sports hall will be full to the rafters with inspirational ideas and gifts for all your friends and family. This is a shopping experience you will not find on the high street, it will be full of unique items. So if it is that special gift for a loved one, something for your home, a festive treat or some great stocking fillers, it will all be here under one roof.
