Friday 18th April – Easter Egg Hunt
Easter Egg Hunt at The Dutch Marketplace, Great North Road, Hatfield, AL9 6ND. Hop on over for a fun-filled Easter morning. Join an exciting Easter Egg Hunt, followed by a delicious pancake breakfast in Café Dutch. Plus, every child will take home a special treat from the Easter Bunny. Spaces are limited, so book early to secure your spot at the Dutch Marketplace. Friday 18th April from 9am.

Tuesday 22nd April – Community Hub
Join Roe Hill Community Hub, Briars Lane, Hatfield, AL10 8EY, for a welcoming space to connect, relax, and enjoy good company. Whether you are catching up with friends or making new ones, there is always a warm cup of tea or coffee waiting for you, free of charge. Chatter and Natter table available in collaboration with The Chatty Café Scheme. This is your community space, with opportunities to shape its future. Share your ideas, get involved, and help us plan special events and group activities. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am – 2pm. Until at least the end of June

IT Champions offer one-to-one support, problem-solving, and online safety advice for users of the library computers and WiFi. At Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, 26-32 Town Centre, Hatfield, AL10 0LD. Tuesdays from 2pm – 4pm.

Wednesday 23rd April – Knit and Natter
Have a natter while you knit, crochet or work on your own art and craft projects. No booking needed. Free weekly drop in sessions in CreatorSpace. Every Wednesday from 10.30am – 12.30pm. At Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, 26-32 Town Centre, Hatfield, AL10 0LD.

Wednesday 23rd April – Board Games
Friendly board games drop in sessions, no need to book. Bring a friend or just join in. Every Wednesday from 1pm – 3pm, at Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, Hatfield, AL10 0LD.

Wednesday 23rd April – Colouring Club
Colouring Club for adults at Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, Hatfield, AL10 0LD. Materials supplied or bring your own. Drop in, no need to book. Every Wednesday from 1pm – 3pm.

Thursday 24th April – Baby Group
An opportunity to meet other families with young babies in a supportive, stimulating and friendly environment. During the session you can play, discover more about their development and support your wellbeing. Thursdays from 10am – 11.30am, £1.50 per family drop in, pay on the day.

Friday 25th April – Baby Rhyme Time
These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are an opportunity for you to meet other families too. Fridays from 10.30am – 11am, at Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, 26-32 Town Centre, Hatfield, AL10 0LD.

Saturday 26th April – Easter Fun
Enjoy a jam-packed day full of egg-citing activities for the whole family, including Carrot trail, meet the Easter bunny and collect a sweet treat, live performers, design an Easter card to take home and Easter crafts for the little artists out there. Saturday 26th April from 10am – 3pm, at Hatfield Town Centre.

Saturday 26th April – Print and Create
Make a tote bag with heat transfer printing. In this creative and colourful hands-on workshop, you will design and print small fabric samples using inks, papers and a heat press, guided by one-time Hatfield Artist in Residence Hazel Russell. You will use a variety of materials experimenting with textures, patterns and colour. You will then have the opportunity to create your own unique tote bag to take home. Saturday 26th April from 12 noon – 2pm, at Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, Hatfield, AL10 0LD. Monday 5th May – Quiz Night
These monthly quiz nights are held on the first Monday of every month from 8pm, at The Red Lion, 88 Great North Road, Hatfield, AL9 5EU. With several rounds of trivia and a picture round, their quiz master will get your brains itching. Teams are a maximum of 6. Booking is not essential but is advised to avoid disappointment.

Thursday 8th – VE Day Afternoon Tea
A charming afternoon in honour of VE Day at The Dutch Marketplace, Great North Road, Hatfield, AL9 6ND. They will be serving up a traditional Afternoon Tea, complete with dainty sandwiches, sweet treats, and freshly brewed tea, all enjoyed to the sound of music and a fun quiz to test your knowledge. Thursday 8th – Sunday 11th May – Living Crafts
A four-day festival of art, craft and design that supports outstanding contemporary designer-makers and artisans. Saturday 10th May – Hatfield Awakens
Join Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and Hatfield Town Centre for an action-packed Star Wars event in Hatfield Town Centre. Budding Jedi can take part in Jedi training, test their skills with themed games, and enjoy exciting music throughout the day. Plus, do not miss out on balloon modelling fun to take home a galactic souvenir. Saturday 10th May from 10am – 3pm.

Wednesday 14th May – Herford Astronomy Group
Your local astronomy club for Hertford, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, St Albans and surrounding area. A Friendly group of people with a common interest in astronomy. A monthly meeting at the University of Hertfordshire, Lindop Building, College Lane, Hatfield, AL10 9AB. They broadcast it live on Zoom for those unable to get to the University and they also publish the meetings on YouTube (subject to the speaker’s consent). Hatfield Town Council are excited to be hosting another fun-filled Community Day on Saturday 21st June. There will be a variety of stalls, performers, musicians and more filling White Lion Square.

Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July – Summer Craft Fair
A wonderful weekend of creativity at this Summer Craft Fair on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July from 10am – 4pm. Explore a fantastic selection of stalls from talented local artists and crafters, offering a beautiful range of handmade goodies, unique gifts, and artisan crafts. Saturday 13th September – Hatfield House Firework Champions
Prepare for an unforgettable night at the iconic Firework Champions event at Hatfield House, Hatfield AL9 5HX. Watch three of the UK’s top firework companies go head-to-head, lighting up the night sky with breath-taking displays set to music. Each team will showcase their unique artistry and choreography, competing to win the audience’s vote for the best show of the night.
The evening features: 4 Spectacular Firework Displays – 3 dazzling competition displays plus a larger grand finale. Drone Show – An exclusive display by DroneSwarm. Saturday 1st November – Firework Night
Essendon Country Club, Bedwell Avenue, Essendon, Hatfield, AL9 6HN, will be hosting their 2025 Firework Night on Saturday 1st November. Gates will be open at 4pm and the firework display will be at around 6.30pm. Full details and tickets will be released nearer to the time.
