Thursday 27th February – Baby Group
An opportunity to meet other families with young babies in a supportive, stimulating and friendly environment. During the session you can play, discover more about their development and support your wellbeing. Thursdays from 10am – 11.30am, £1.50 per family drop in, pay on the day.
Friday 28th February – Art and Thrive Social Painting
Get creative, be inspired, and let your mind unwind at this Art and Thrive social painting daytime class. This picture captures the vibrant colours of a Mediterranean seascape by the artist, Sir John Avery. Painting in this style is a joy to paint. Come and have a go and amaze yourself with what you can do. Their highly experienced art tutors will guide you through the process of painting your picture, step by step, so that you can relax and just enjoy the experience. Friday 28th February – Baby Rhyme Time
These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are an opportunity for you to meet other families too. Fridays from 10.30am – 11am, at Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, 26-32 Town Centre, Hatfield, AL10 0LD.
Saturday 1st March – Book Swap
Come and swap a book or puzzle, and enjoy a drink and a slice of cake. Saturday 1st February from 10am – 12 noon, at North Mymms Memorial Hall, Station Road, Welham Green, AL9 7PG.
Saturday 1st March – Centenary Crafts
Celebrate 100 years of Hertfordshire Libraires with some themed centenary crafts. This free crafting session is suitable for ages 5-11, and places must be booked at the enquiry desk. The session will be held on Saturday 1st March form 12 noon – 1.30pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult. At Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, Hatfield, AL10 0LD.
Sunday 2nd March – Antique and Vintage Fair
This huge indoor venue will be packed full of stalls selling all manner of weird and wonderful items. From quality antiques, to vintage fashion, furniture to jewellery, collectables, curios or art. Whether it is that unusual gift or that cool period piece for your home, there really will be something to suit all tastes and budgets. Sunday 2nd March – Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club
Open to all those who served, or who are still serving in HM Armed Forces. They meet on the first Sunday of each month from 10am. At Harpsfield Hall, Parkhouse Court, Hatfield, AL10 9RQ.
Monday 3rd March – Quiz Night
These monthly quiz nights are held on the first Monday of every month from 8pm, at The Red Lion, 88 Great North Road, Hatfield, AL9 5EU. With several rounds of trivia and a picture round, their quiz master will get your brains itching. Teams are a maximum of 6. Booking is not essential but is advised to avoid disappointment.
Thursday 6th March – Sketchbooking
Bring along your sketchbook, paper, pencils, pens and markers for an informal drop-in session. Sessions are free thanks to H’arts in Mind and no prior experience or booking required. First and third Thursday of the month from 11.30am – 1pm. At The Galleria, Comet Way, Hatfield, AL10 0XR.
Saturday 8th March – Soft Toy Sleepover
Join Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, Hatfield, AL10 0LD, on Saturday 8th March from 4pm – 4.30pm, for a very popular event, Soft Toy Sleepover. Think story time, but with bedtime stories. Your toy will spend the night at the library, cosy pyjamas are recommended for all. This is a free event, donations are welcome.
Tuesday 11th March – SEND Walk in Advice

Wednesday 12th March – Herford Astronomy Group
Your local astronomy club for Hertford, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, St Albans and surrounding area. A Friendly group of people with a common interest in astronomy. A monthly meeting at the University of Hertfordshire, Lindop Building, College Lane, Hatfield, AL10 9AB. They broadcast it live on Zoom for those unable to get to the University and they also publish the meetings on YouTube (subject to the speaker’s consent). Sunday 16th March – Dogs and Daffs Charity Walk and Fun Dog Show
Pull on your boots and ramble round the grounds of Hatfield Park, Hatfield AL9 5HX. Four walks for all abilities including a wheelchair/ buggy-friendly option. The Fun Dog Show is a favourite attraction at their Dogs and Daffs Event. For further information and to book click here
Saturday 13th September – Hatfield House Firework Champions
Prepare for an unforgettable night at the iconic Firework Champions event at Hatfield House, Hatfield AL9 5HX. Watch three of the UK’s top firework companies go head-to-head, lighting up the night sky with breath-taking displays set to music. Each team will showcase their unique artistry and choreography, competing to win the audience’s vote for the best show of the night.
