Saturday 10th May – Hedgehogs

Learn about hedgehogs and hibernation whilst creating your own hedgehog through book folding. Suitable for ages 7-11. At Bishop’s Stortford Library, The Causeway, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 2EJ. Saturday 10th May from 10.30am – 12 noon.


Saturday 10th May – Children’s Creative Craft Corner

Children’s Creative Craft Corner is on Saturdays from 11am – 11.45am, there’s no need to book. This activity is run weekly by one of My Voice youth volunteers, so occasionally sessions may be cancelled, keep an eye out on their social media or in the library for updates. At Bishop’s Stortford Library, The Causeway, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 2EJ.


Saturday 10th May – Teen Book Group

Run by My Voice volunteers, this group will be held every Saturday from 3pm – 4pm. Come along to discuss what you have been reading and have a chat. There will be snacks. It is free to pop along to these sessions and all are welcome. At Bishop’s Stortford Library, The Causeway, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 2EJ.


Monday 12th May – Baby Group

An opportunity to meet other families with young babies in a supportive, stimulating and friendly environment. During the session you can play, discover more about their development and support your wellbeing. £1.50 per family, pay on the day. Mondays from 10am – 11.30am, at Little Squirrels Family Centre, Bishops Stortford, CM23 2NL.


Monday 12th May – Craft Club

Open to all, drop in, bring your current project or just have a chat over a cuppa. Every second Monday of the month from 10.30am – 12 noon. At Bishop’s Stortford Library, The Causeway, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 2EJ.


Tuesday 13th May – Baby Rhyme Time

These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are an opportunity for you to meet other families too. Baby Rhyme Time is free though donations are welcomed. No booking required. Tuesdays from 10.15am – 10.45am and 11.15am – 11.45am. Tuesday 13th May – Board Games Club

At this Board Games Club, you can have fun playing games like Snakes and Ladders, Dominoes or Snap. Or even, write rules, forfeits and rewards to create your own board game. It runs every Tuesday from 4pm – 5pm so drop in at any point during the hour. It is for anyone aged 6+ and is free to attend. Wednesday 14th May – Active Rhyme Time

Active rhymes and songs for your baby and toddler. A great way to meet other families and develop your child’s communication and physical skills. £2.50 per family, pay on the day. Wednesdays from 10am – 10.45am. At Little Squirrels Family Centre, Bishops Stortford, CM23 2NE.


Thursday 15th May – Bishop’s Stortford: Inclusive Job Fair

Step2Skills is delighted to be holding one of their Inclusive Job Fairs at South Mill Arts Centre, South Road, Bishops Stortford, CM23 3JG. This Job Fair will be aimed towards adults (aged 19 and above) in Bishop’s Stortford with learning and physical disabilities, sensory needs, neurodiversity and mental health conditions. Booking is not essential but is advised as spaces are limited for each slot. Note that there is a low sensory hour between 12 noon – 1pm with limited tickets available and you must book a ticket to be allowed entry during this slot. Thursday 15th May – Story Time

Tuesday 20th May – History of the River Stort

Join Bishop’s Stortford Museum, South Road, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 3JG, for History of the River Stort, a talk by Richard Thomas. The 13 3/4 winding miles of the Stort Navigation are generally acknowledged to be among the prettiest in England. Wednesday 28th May – Big Bounce Day

A fun day to be had, with a variety of inflatables, free parking, a licensed bar, snacks and refreshments. Wednesday 28th May from 10am – 4pm. At Bishop’s Stortford Swifts, Hadham Road, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 2QE.


Friday 6th June- Friday Storytime

Join in with stories and rhymes, ideal for children aged 2-5. There is no need to book, just turn up. This event is free, but donations are welcome. First Friday of the month from 10.30am – 11am. At Bishop’s Stortford Library, The Causeway, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 2EJ.


Saturday 7th June – ABBA Forever

The unique ABBA look and sound is replicated with an incredible attention to detail as the beautiful lyrics penned by Benny and Bjorn are sung in wonderful harmony by all seven performers on stage, with two outstanding Abba girls completing the line-up, adding the essential glitz and glamour to a well-polished and gently humorous show.

Dynamic non-stop choreography, stunning visuals, top-class musicianship and an all live performance ensures that the ABBA Forever tribute show captivates audiences from the opening refrain to the final sing-along chorus of this two-hour spectacular. Saturday 21st June – Midsummer Stroll at Thorley

A walk around Thorley Wash, Spellbrook, North Bishop’s Stortford, CM22 7SE, to experience the sights and sounds of summer. Learn about the reserve and enjoy the summer flowers, butterflies and birdsong. You will also look out for signs of water voles and may even catch sight of one. Please be aware there is a deep step up to the bridge that leads across the Stort onto the reserve, which may not be suitable for people with limited mobility. Saturday 21st June from 10am – 12 noon. Saturday 21st June – Carnival Parade and Fun Day

Bishop’s Stortford Town Council welcomes the Annual Carnival Parade and Fun Day on Saturday 21st June. The Carnival Parade departs from South Mill Arts (CM23 3JG) at 11.15am, processes through South Street, Potter Street, Market Square, North Street and Northgate End, finishing on Link Road at approximately 12.20pm. The Carnival Fun Day on Sworders Field (CM23 2EL) is from 12 noon – 5pm; visit over 100 stalls at the Fun Day including a bar as well as delicious food from around the world. The whole event promises to be a fantastic experience for all the family.


Sunday 22nd June – Hatfield Heath Festival

Annual village festival including classic cars, music festival, arena events, falconry display and more. Sunday 22nd June from 10am – 9pm. At Hatfield Heath, Bishop’s Stortford, CM22 7EU.
