Thursday 19th June – Story Time

Bring the kids along on Thursdays from 2pm for story time, all are welcome. This event is free and suitable for children under 7 years of age. At Bishop’s Stortford Library, The Causeway, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 2EJ.


Saturday 21st June – Midsummer Stroll at Thorley

A walk around Thorley Wash, Spellbrook, North Bishop’s Stortford, CM22 7SE, to experience the sights and sounds of summer. Learn about the reserve and enjoy the summer flowers, butterflies and birdsong. You will also look out for signs of water voles and may even catch sight of one. Please be aware there is a deep step up to the bridge that leads across the Stort onto the reserve, which may not be suitable for people with limited mobility. Saturday 21st June from 10am – 12 noon. Saturday 21st June – Carnival Parade and Fun Day

Bishop’s Stortford Town Council welcomes the Annual Carnival Parade and Fun Day on Saturday 21st June. The Carnival Parade departs from South Mill Arts (CM23 3JG) at 11.15am, processes through South Street, Potter Street, Market Square, North Street and Northgate End, finishing on Link Road at approximately 12.20pm. The Carnival Fun Day on Sworders Field (CM23 2EL) is from 12 noon – 5pm; visit over 100 stalls at the Fun Day including a bar as well as delicious food from around the world. The whole event promises to be a fantastic experience for all the family.


Saturday 21st June – Teen Book Group

Run by My Voice volunteers, this group will be held every Saturday from 3pm – 4pm. Come along to discuss what you have been reading and have a chat. There will be snacks. It is free to pop along to these sessions and all are welcome. At Bishop’s Stortford Library, The Causeway, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 2EJ.


Sunday 22nd June – Hatfield Heath Festival

Annual village festival including classic cars, music festival, arena events, falconry display and more. Sunday 22nd June from 10am – 9pm. At Hatfield Heath, Bishop’s Stortford, CM22 7EU.


Tuesday 24th June – Baby Rhyme Time

These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are an opportunity for you to meet other families too. Baby Rhyme Time is free though donations are welcomed. No booking required. Tuesdays from 10.15am – 10.45am and 11.15am – 11.45am. At Bishop’s Stortford Library, The Causeway, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 2EJ.


Tuesday 24th June – Board Games Club

At this Board Games Club, you can have fun playing games like Snakes and Ladders, Dominoes or Snap. Or even, write rules, forfeits and rewards to create your own board game. It runs every Tuesday from 4pm – 5pm so drop in at any point during the hour. It is for anyone aged 6+ and is free to attend. Wednesday 25th June – Special Cup

Join Bishop’s Stortford Methodist Church, 34B South Street, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 3AZ, every week on a Wednesday from 12 noon – 4pm. They do a bring and share lunch, have a good chat and then play games. Come make new friends or meet with old ones.


Tuesday 1st July – Pop Connect

A great opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, share ideas, and grow your network. The Pop Connect Networking Group meet every first Tuesday of the month from 11am – 1pm at Great Hadham Golf Club, Great Hadham Road, Much Hadham, SG10 6JE.


Friday 4th July – Friday Storytime

Join in with stories and rhymes, ideal for children aged 2-5. There is no need to book, just turn up. This event is free, but donations are welcome. First Friday of the month from 10.30am – 11am. At Bishop’s Stortford Library, The Causeway, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 2EJ.


Monday 14th July – Craft Club

Friday 25th July – Pride Cabaret Event

A fabulous night of glitz, glam, and pride at this Pride Cabaret Event. Celebrate 5 incredible years of Pride in East Herts, with an unforgettable evening filled with drag performances, comedy, music, and those get-out-of-your-chair party vibes. Friday 25th July doors open from 7.30pm, at Southmill Arts Centre, South Road, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 3JG.


Saturday 2nd August – Bat Walk

Join the Herts and Middlesex Bat Group at Thorley Wash Nature Reserve for a guided introduction to the world of bats. Following a short introductory talk you will be shown how to use a simple bat detector. You will then explore the different habitats and see how various bat species use them.
