Thursday 19th June – Yoga

This session is exclusively for female participants. All levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced practitioners. They provide additional support for those with hearing, physical, learning, visual impairments, mental health issues, and social or behavioural problems. Saturday 21st June – Dog Show

A tail-wagging extravaganza at this Carpenders Park Dog Show. Get ready to witness the most adorable canine companions strut their stuff in various categories. The show kicks off promptly at 10.30am, so do not miss a moment of the furry fun. Entry is just £1 per category, with refreshments available, and prizes for the winning canines. Saturday 21st June – Saturday Singing Circle

Tuesday 24th June – Mum’s Walk and Talk

Hello Baby Social is hosting a Walk and Talk for mums with babies up to 12 months old in Bushey. Meeting on Tuesday 24th June from 10.30am – 11.30am at King George Recreation Ground, Chiltern Avenue, Bushey, WD23 4RF. For further information and to register click here


Saturday 28th June – Brewfest

For the first time, all six of the Oxhey village pubs will be participating in the annual celebration of local beers. you will be able to enjoy ale tasting, food, music and entertainment at these local public houses. The Load of Hay, The Railway Arms, The Rifle Volunteer, The Royal Oak, The Victoria and The Villiers Arms.


Sunday 29th June – The Forties Experience: Open Day

Join The Forties Experience, Lincoln Field, Bushey Hall Drive, Bushey, WD23 2ES, for their public open day on Sunday 29th June from 10.30am – 4pm. You do not need to prebook. Come and see their 1940s rooms and play with their collection of 1940s toys and games. Visit their military museum and their Dig for Victory garden. Pop into the Airman’s Club to see their live band “The Mustangs” and pay a visit to South West Herts Model Railway Club to see what they are working on. Experience a guided tour of a bombed out street scene with their air raid warden and take a ride in their WW2 Jeep. Period attire is welcomed, so come along and experience a trip back to the Forties.


Tuesday 1st July – Coffee and Chat

Drop in for tea and biscuits, chat and make new friends. The first Tuesday of each month from 10.30am – 11.30am. At Bushey Library, Sparrows Herne, WD23 1FA.


Wednesday 2nd July – Craft Group

Come and join this crafting group, open to all, drop in, bring your current craft project and have a chat over a cuppa. First Wednesday of the month from 1.30pm – 3pm. At Bushey Library, Sparrows Herne, WD23 1FA.


Saturday 5th July – Summer Fete

St James’ Parish Fete, High Street, Bushey, WD23 1BD, are holding a Summer Fete in the Village from 11am – 4pm, as part of the Bushey Festival. There will be stalls from tombola to bags and jewellery and many more. Coffee and cakes, light lunches, barbecue and ice cream will be available followed by the always popular Music Recital by the North London Military Wives in St James Church at noon. In the afternoon there will be tours up the Tower and practical Bell Ringing plus lots more. Parking in Kemp Place Car Park, WD23 1DW (charges apply).


Saturday 5th July – An Afternoon of Music

Enjoy an afternoon of music in the beautiful surroundings of Bushey Rose Garden, High Street, Bushey, WD23 3HH. Refreshments available. You are welcome to bring a picnic. Free event. donations to Bushey festival and the friends of the Rose Garden. Saturday 5th July from 1.30pm – 5pm.


Tuesday 8th July – Heritage Walk

Come on a guided walk and talk around Bushey with Bushey’s own Sue Gil, London Blue Badge Tour Guide. The tour will last about two hours. Pre-booking not required but group limited to 30 people. First come, first served. Enquiries to suedevonsgil@me.com Tickets £5 cash on the day (Under 16’s free) with proceeds to be split between Blood Cancer UK and the Festival. Wednesday 9th July – St Paul’s Church: Open Morning

Open Morning at St Paul’s Church, 82 Bushey Hall Road, Bushey, WD23 2EQ. With coffee, cakes, tabletop sale, home produce and plants in one of Bushey’s hidden gems built in the Arts and Crafts’ style in 1904 followed by Holy Communion at 12.30pm for anyone who wishes to attend. Free entry and no need to book. Restricted and limited parking in adjacent side roads.


Wednesday 9th July – Walking Group

Join Bushey Library, Sparrows Herne, WD23 1FA, for their new monthly themed walking group on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 2pm. You can join in with the theme as much or as little as you want or just come along for a stroll and a chat.


Wednesday 9th July – Bushey Bowling Club: Open Evening

Try Lawn Bowls at Bushey Bowling Club, King George Recreation Ground, Chiltern Avenue, Bushey WD23 4RF. If you like the idea of gentle exercise in the open air with friendly company the game of bowls might be for you. The game is suitable for all. Just come along to the King George Recreation Ground where the club is just by the Chiltern Avenue entrance to the Park.
Equipment and coaching will be provided. Please wear loose clothing and flat soled shoes. Their well stocked bar will be open and hot drinks available. You will be sure of a warm welcome. Thursday 10th July – Guided Tour of St James’ Parish Church

Tour St James’ Parish Church, High Street, Bushey, WD23 1BD, a Grade II* parish church with its 13th century chancel, 15th century tower and 19th century nave restored and extended by Sir George Gilbert Scott and some of the significant tombs in one of the largest churchyards in the South-East of England. Friday 11th July – Reveley Lodge House Tour 

Reveley Lodge House Tour Bushey Festival Special. Exclusive guided tour around this Grade II listed Victorian country house. Enjoy this unique Grade II listed building with its furniture and fittings and the stories behind it. Follow the tour with tea and cake in the beautifully restored Billiard Room. Saturday 12th July – Fun Dog Show

Annual Bushey Fun Dog Show at King George Recreation Ground, Bushey. Bring your dog along and enter any of the fun classes at £2 per class from Best Trick to Waggiest Tail, they have categories for every type of pup personality. Rosettes will be awarded to the top five in each class and the class winner will receive a bumper goody bag. Registration is from 11am. Judging starts at 12 noon.


Saturday 12th July – Bushey Museum and Art Gallery: Walk and Talk

Meet at the Bushey Museum and Art Gallery, Rudolph Road, WD23 3HW. Saturday 12th July from 11am. Organised by the Friends of Bushey Museum. Parking in nearby Kemp Place (charges apply). The popular guided walk in Bushey village introducing local artist and illustrator of Black Beauty Lucy Kemp-Welch. Free of charge. Pre-booking for walk essential to busmt@busheymuseum.org. Saturday 12th July – South Oxhey Choir Concert

Come and join the South Oxhey Choir on Saturday 12th July from 7pm, for their Summer Concert at the Clarendon Muse at Watford Grammar School for Boys, Watford, WD18 7JA. This purpose built venue is the perfect place for their 80 person choir to perform songs from Madonna, Billy Joel, Oasis and Coldplay and musical theatre hits from Wicked and The Lion King to name just a few. Wednesday 23rd July – Dementia Awareness Workshop

Home Instead Watford and Carpenders Park Care Home invite you to their “Spot the Signs” Dementia Awareness Workshop, an informative and supportive event designed to help families, caregivers, and community members recognise the early signs of dementia and learn how to offer meaningful support. This special workshop will be co-hosted by Dr. Suhail Hussain, a respected expert in elderly care, and Nutritionist Sarah Scotland, who brings insights into how nutrition can support brain health and wellbeing. Thursday 31st July – Workshop for Teens

Join Mary and learn the basics of photography in the stunning gardens at Reveley Lodge, Elstree Road, Bushey, WD23 4GL. Hands on practice and fun photo challenges. Saturday 9th August – Tales of the River Festival

Celebrate the ‘Tales of the River’ project, a special event honouring the rich heritage of the River Colne through stories, history, and community. Various stalls featuring local businesses, volunteering organisations, delicious food and free ice cream. Entertainment for all ages, including a bouncy castle and family-friendly activities. Talks and performances highlighting the rich heritage and future of the River Colne. Saturday 9th August from 11am. At Oxhey Park, WD18 OEZ.


Friday 26th September – Macmillan Coffee Morning

On Friday 26th September from 10am 12 noon, CLP Arts and Crafts Courses will be holding their Macmillan coffee morning at St Martin’s, Muirfield Road, South Oxhey, WD19 6JD. They want, more than ever, to support their friends who are being treated currently, as well as remembering those special friends and loved ones who are no longer with us. They really hope to make it a bumper donation this year.
