Friday 9th – Sunday 11th May – VE Day Celebration
Bushey Museum and Art Gallery, Rudolph Road, Bushey, WD23 3HW, will be helping to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day and cessation of hostilities in Europe during May 2025. On four afternoons from Thursday 8th May to Sunday 11th May there will be showings of a newly made film of Bushey residents remembering their wartime experiences. For the whole of May there will be a photographic exhibition of Bushey during the war.

Friday 9th May – Baby Rhyme Time
These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are a great opportunity for you to meet other families too. Fridays from 11am – 11.30am, at Bushey Library, Sparrows Herne, Bushey, WD23 1FA.

Saturday 10th May – Annual Model Railway Exhibition
Annual Model Railway Exhibition, one of the largest one day exhibition in the South East of England. Saturday 10th May from 10am – 4.30pm. At Queens’ School, Aldenham Road, Bushey, WD23 2TY.

Saturday 10th May – Saturday Singing Circle
Songs and memory games, refreshments and raffle. Saturdays from 2pm – 4pm. Supporting people with dementia and carers. At The Clitheroe Centre, Clitheroe Gardens, South Oxhey. For further information click here

Monday 12th May – IT Champion
IT Champions offer one-to-one support, problem-solving, and online safety advice for users of the library computers and WiFi. Every Monday from 3pm – 5pm. At Oxhey Library, Bridlington Road, South Oxhey, WD19 7AG.

Tuesday 13th May – Cuppa and Catch Up
Enjoy a cuppa and some company, make new friends, play games and get involved in activities, every second and fourth Tuesday from 10am – 12 noon. At SRMD London Spiritual Centre, Falconer Road, Bushey, WD23 3AD.

Tuesday 13th May – Active Rhyme Time
A 45 minute session of fun, active rhymes and songs for your baby and toddler. A great way to meet other families and develop your child‘s communication and physical skills. For children with their parent or carer. Older siblings welcome. £2.50 per family pay on the day drop in. Tuesdays from 10.30am – 11.15am. At Phoenix Centre, Bushey, WD23 3DG.

Wednesday 14th May – Craft Group
Come and join this crafting group, open to all, drop in, bring your current craft project and have a chat over a cuppa. First Wednesday of the month from 1.30pm – 3pm. At Bushey Library, Sparrows Herne, WD23 1FA.

Wednesday 14th May – Walking Group
Join Bushey Library, Sparrows Herne, WD23 1FA, for their new monthly themed walking group on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 2pm. You can join in with the theme as much or as little as you want or just come along for a stroll and a chat.

Thursday 15th May – Yoga
This session is exclusively for female participants. All levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced practitioners. They provide additional support for those with hearing, physical, learning, visual impairments, mental health issues, and social or behavioural problems. Sunday 18th May – South Oxhey Market
Watford Rural Parish Council is proud and excited to announce the long-awaited relaunch of South Oxhey Market. Partnered with Bray Markets, a trusted and experienced market operator, they bring you a vibrant and welcoming market every Sunday from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Expect a fantastic mix of fresh produce, artisan goods, street food, crafts, and much more, all from local and regional traders.

Wednesday 21st May – Treasures of the Archives
Join Bushey Library, Sparrows Herne, WD23 1FA, who are hosting a talk on The Treasures of the Archives on Wednesday 21st May from 7.30pm – 8.30pm. The talk will be given by colleagues from Hertfordshire Archives And Local Studies (HALS). A talk about some of Hertfordshire’s most interesting documents from 1060 to the present day. Sunday 25th May – The Forties Experience
Come and see a 1940s rooms and play with a collection of 1940s toys and games. Visit a military museum and the Dig for Victory garden. Experience a guided tour of a bombed out street scene with an air raid warden and take a ride in a WW2 Jeep. Sunday 25th May from 10.30am – 4pm. Monday 26th May – Family Magic and Comedy Show
This show is has been specifically designed for families and is suitable for all ages. It will leave the younger ones amazed and the older ones thinking “How did he do that?!” This show will will contain comedy, magic, illusions and most importantly Audience Participation. Tuesday 3rd June – Coffee and Chat

Saturday 7th June – Summer Fayre
Oxhey Village Summer Fayre, on the village green on Saturday 7th June from 1pm. There will be dozens of stalls, food and drink, entertainment and fun and games.

Saturday 14th June – Pirates of Penzance
A concert performance of Pirates of Penzance from the Watford Philharmonic choir and orchestra. With parts performed by a mix of professional soloists and members of the choir. Saturday 14th June from 7pm – 10pm. At Grand Hall, The Bushey Arena,

Saturday 28th June – Brewfest
For the first time, all six of the Oxhey village pubs will be participating in the annual celebration of local beers. you will be able to enjoy ale tasting, food, music and entertainment at these local public houses. The Load of Hay, The Railway Arms, The Rifle Volunteer, The Royal Oak, The Victoria and The Villiers Arms.

Saturday 5th July – An Afternoon of Music
Enjoy an afternoon of music in the beautiful surroundings of Bushey Rose Garden, High Street, Bushey, WD23 3HH. Refreshments available. You are welcome to bring a picnic. Free event. donations to Bushey festival and the friends of the Rose Garden. Saturday 5th July from 1.30pm – 5pm.
