Wednesday 22nd January – Hoddesdon Market

Hoddesdon Market is under the Clocktower every Wednesday and Friday from 9am – 3.30pm, serving up all your favourite Sourdough Cheese Toasties, Freshly roasted Barista Coffee, Homemade Cookies and Brownies. Come along and buy some lovely freshly made food using locally sourced / made ingredients, helping to support a small business that supports other small local businesses.


Thursday 23rd January – IT Champion

IT Champions offer one-to-one support, problem-solving, and online safety advice for users of the library computers and WiFi. Every Thursday from 12 noon – 2pm. At Hoddesdon Library, 98A High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD.


Thursday 23rd January – Board Games

Join Cheshunt library, Turners Hill, Cheshunt, EN8 8LB, for some relaxed and friendly board games fun. They have a range of exciting games to choose from. Feel free to bring drinks and snacks, for ages 18+ No need to book, just turn up. Every Thursday from 2pm – 3pm.


Thursday 23rd January – Fakes and Forgeries

Join Hoddesdon Library, 98A High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, for an intriguing evening with Auctioneer and Valuer Tim Turner on Thursday 23rd January from 7pm. He will be talking about fakes and forgeries and how to potentially spot the difference. To book click here


Friday 24th January – Peek-a-Boo Baby

Join Hoddesdon Library, 98A High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD, for a ‘Peek-a-boo baby session on Friday 24th January from 11am – 11.30am. A lovely way to bond with your baby through fun sensory activities. Suitable for babies aged 3-8 months. To book click here


Saturday 25th January – ParkPlay

ParkPlay is a national project that runs every Saturday from 10am – 12 noon. and is completely free to attend. They aim to encourage families to participate together across generations and get involved in game activities. All their games are inclusive and can be played across a range of ages in a way that keeps thing safe and most importantly fun for all the family.

Saturday 25th January – Lego Club

Saturday 25th January – Baby and Child First Aid 

This two hour class is perfect for anyone that has a baby or child and wants to learn some basic first aid skills without being overwhelmed with technical information. The session empowers parents/expectant parents/grandparents and carers and gives you the confidence to act fast in an emergency. Their class is relaxed and fun, suitable for pregnancy and babies under 12 months are welcome too. Saturday 25th January from 11.30am – 1.30pm. Sunday 26th January – Great Amwell Car Boot Sale

Completely flat, picturesque grassy field. Suitable for mobility scooters, wheelchairs and buggies. Fun for the kids with slides, bouncy castles and miniature rides every week. Monday 27th January – Breakfast Club

Throughout the colder months, Big Local are once again offering free breakfasts Monday – Friday from 7.45am – 8.30am for anyone in the local community. Due to building works currently taking place, Breakfast Club will now be held in the Studio room at Wormley Community Centre, Fairfield Drive, Wormley, Broxbourne, EN10 6DX. Whether the kids need feeding on their way to school, you want to grab a quick bite before you start work, or you simply like to start your day with a nice chat, in a warm space with a full belly.


Monday 27th January – Active Rhyme Time

Active rhymes and songs for your baby and toddler. A great way to meet with other families and develop your child’s communication and physical skills. Mondays from 9.15am – 10am and 10.30am – 11.15am. At High Trees Family Centre, Turnford, Broxbourne, EN10 6AE. Chargeable £2.50 drop in, no booking necessary, pay on the day.  


Monday 27th January – Baby Rhyme Time

Baby Rhyme Time at Cheshunt Library, Turners Hill, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, EN8 8LB, is half an hour of songs and rhymes for you to enjoy with your little one. Every Monday from 10am – 10.30am and 11am -11.30am. Booking at the library is essential as spaces are limited.


Tuesday 28th January – Baby Group

An opportunity to meet other families with young babies in a supportive, stimulating and friendly environment. During the session you can play, discover more about their development and support your wellbeing. Tuesdays from 1pm – 2.30pm. At The Ark Family Centre, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HT. Saturday 1st February – Wolf Celebration Day

Hertfordshire Zoo is saying a fond farewell to Romulus and Inge, our beloved Eurasian wolves. After many years of delighting visitors with their captivating presence, they are embarking on a new adventure at Wolf Watch UK. At this special send-off event you will gain fascinating insights into the lives of Romulus and Inge from expert keepers. Learn about their unique personalities, their journey at Hertfordshire Zoo, and what the future holds for them at Wolf Watch UK. These talks will take place at Base Camp, located just inside their World of Dinosaurs archway, and will happen on Saturday 1st February at 10am, 11am, 2pm and 3pm. Tuesday 4th February – Reading Group for Adults

Join this reading group for adults which meets every first Tuesday of the month at 4.45pm – 5.45pm. At Hoddesdon Library, 98A High Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8HD.


Wednesday 5th February – Guided walk around RSPB Rye Meads 

Come along on the first Wednesday of each month for an informal guided walk around RSPB Rye Meads and witness the diversity of wildlife that calls the reserve home.  If you would like to learn more about the reserve, would like support with wildlife ID, have questions about binoculars or telescopes, or would simply enjoy exploring nature in a social setting, then this is for you. Please arrive at 11.45 ready to begin the walk at 12.00. Non-member parking charges are not included in the event price (£4 per car).

Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear should be worn. Please bring along a drink and/or snack for the walk. Our Café Lite facilities will also be open should you want a hot or cold drink and a bite to eat after.
