Tuesday 15th September – Toddler Group

Toddler group for babies and pre-schoolers, with crafts, songs, games, stories and more. Pop in for a chat and tea or coffee. Every Tuesday from 10am – 11.30am. At All Saints’ Church, Queen’s Road, Hertford, SG13 8AY.


Tuesday 15th September – Herts Musical Memories

Herts Musical Memories sessions bring people together through the power of music, memories and singing. Whether you are living with dementia, supporting a loved one, or simply enjoy singing and meeting new people, these friendly sessions are a wonderful opportunity to sing along, share memories and enjoy time together. Come along, grab a cuppa and a snack, and settle in before the singing begins. Tuesdays from 2pm – 3.30pm, at Sele Farm Community Centre, Hertford, SG14 2LW. Next September: 22nd 29th, October: 13th 20th 27th, November: 3rd 17th 24th, December: 1st 8th.


Tuesday 15th September – Open Mic Night

Hertford Corn Exchange, Fore Street, Hertford SG14 1AL, Open Mic Night. Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 7pm – 11pm. Musicians, comedians, poets, storytellers, all welcome. Free entry for performers and audience alike, with full sound system and mics provided. Artists and photographers can showcase their work, as the bar area will double as a pop-up gallery for the evening, email to book in to display your art.


Tuesday 15th September – Quiz Night

A fun social evening, full of laughter and competitiveness at the Farmers Boy, Brickendon Lane, Brickendon, Hertford, SG13 8NU. Every Tuesday from 8pm, until at least the end of the year.


Wednesday 16th September – Brush Party

Join Brush Party, the UK’s ‘Paint and Sip’ experts at Quattro Lounge, Unit 4, Lea Wharf Development, Hertford, SG14 1BN, on Wednesday 16th September from 7pm – 10pm, to create their fabulous theme Colourful Coo. To book click here


Saturday 19th September – Panshanger Parkrun

A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog or run. The event takes place at Panshanger Park, Panshanger Lane, Hertford, SG14 2NJ. Saturday 19th September – Men’s Breakfast Drop-in

For all the Men, dads, grandads, uncles, cousins, and brothers come and join Farmers Boy Brickendon, Brickendon Lane, Brickendon, Hertford, SG13 8NU, on Saturday from 9am for a free bacon roll and coffee. Have a chat with and make new friends, find the support you need or just enjoy a new circle of people. On the third Saturday of each month.


Saturday 19th September – Litter Pick

Litter pick on Saturday 19th September from 1.30pm – 2.30pm and social with free refreshments from 2.30pm – 3.30pm. At Sele Community Hub, 18 Fleming Crescent, Hertford, SG14 2DJ.


Saturday 19th September – Bingo Night

Bingo night with raffle and cash prizes, Saturday from 7pm, eyes down at 7.30pm, at Hertford Wellbeing Hub, Glenfield Court, Hertford, SG14 2HN.


Sunday 20th September – Hertford Junior Parkrun

A free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for juniors 4-14 year olds. The event takes place at Hartham Common, Hartham Lane, Hertford, SG14 1QR. Sundays from 9am. For further information click here


Sunday 20th September – Heritage Day

Hertford Town Council invites you to annual Heritage Day at Hertford Castle on Sunday 20th September from 12 noon – 4pm, step back in time and explore the Castle lawn, transformed into a lively medieval settlement with interactive encampments. The Castle itself will be open to explore, and the performance arena will host storytelling, archery demonstrations, and thrilling Viking battle re-enactments. You will also find a great selection of food and drink, craft and charity stalls, making it a fun-filled day for all the family. With Medieval encampments, Viking battles, Falconry and archery. Free entry to Hertford Castle.


Thursday 24th September – Men’s Hertford Group

Pop along talk and find a safe space to look at what’s happening in your life as well as sharing life experiences. 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 6.30pm – 8pm. At Skills and Learning Centre, 67 Fore Street, Hertford, SG14 1AL.


Tuesday 29th September – A Visit to Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies

Hertfordshire Federation of Women’s Institutes are delighted to offer members what they think will be a fascinating visit to Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies. As some of you may know, HALS is where all the WI records are kept so they might be able to view some of their oldest documents on the visit. The visit will also include a tour of the reading rooms and archives store and a visit to the conservation studio. Thursday 1st October – Open Mic Night

Open Mic night on the first Thursday every month from 8pm – 11pm, at Farmers Boy, Brickendon Lane, Brickendon, Hertford, SG13 8NU. Until at least December.


Saturday 3rd October – Coffee Morning

There is always a delicious selection of home-made cakes and bakes to tempt you, along with fresh coffee, tea and drinks for children. There are usually items for sale and always a very warm welcome. Saturday from 10.30am – 12.30pm. Next 3rd October, 7th November, 5th December.


Sunday 4th October – Farmers and Craft Market

Discover a wonderful artisan market spread across two floors, with additional outdoor stalls at Beam, The Wash, Hertford, SG14 1PS. Showcasing amazing small businesses from Hertford and the surrounding areas, this vibrant market brings together over 35 unique stalls every month. Everyone finds their favourites, and visiting feels like stepping into a brand-new independent shop each time. Come along, explore, and support your local makers. Sunday 4th October from 10am – 3pm. Free entry


Tuesday 6th October – Quiz Night

Join The Silver Fox, London Road, Hertford Heath, Hertford, SG13 7RH, for their monthly Quiz Night, held on the first Tuesday of each Month from 7.30pm.  Prizes in the form of cash and drinks up for grabs. Call the pub to book your place.


Wednesday 7th October – 125 years of Jazz Piano

125 Years of Jazz Piano stars acclaimed pianist James Pearson, Artistic Director of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, alongside Sam Burgess on bass and Chris Higginbottom on drums. All three are core members of the Ronnie Scott’s All Stars. The show takes audiences on an entertaining journey through 125 years of jazz piano, celebrating legends including Fats Waller, Art Tatum, George Shearing, Dave Brubeck and Oscar Peterson. Thursday 8th October – Hertford Jazz

Jazz Jam welcomes jazzers of all abilities on the second Thursday of every month from 7.30pm – 10.30pm, at the Hertford Club, Lombard House, Bull Plain, Hertford, SG14 1DT. Bring your instrument, sticks or voice to join in with the house band, or just come to listen and enjoy the chaos.


Friday 9th October – A Night To Remember: Motown Show

This Motown show takes you back in time to 1960’s Detroit. Be prepared for a high energy show, packed with the greatest Motown hits of all time. Starring The Voice UK finalist, Bizzi Dixon, and backed by the soulful vocal dynamics of The Motown Divas, this musical celebration is sure to have you singing along and dancing in the aisles and the streets. Saturday 10th October – Farmers’ Market

This Farmers Market in Hertford takes place in Market Place on the second Saturday of every month and features produce from the local area. The market is open from 8.30am – 1pm and features produce from local livestock, poultry and dairy farmers, together with fruit and vegetables, honey, preserves and bakery products from the countryside surrounding Hertford


Friday 16th and Saturday 17th October – Hertfordshire Oktoberfest 

Hertfordshire Oktoberfest returns to Hartham Common, Hertford on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th October for two huge days of Bavarian fun. This year’s event will also showcase local artists and local food vendors, bringing even more flavour and energy to the festival. Traditional German bier halls, Live Oompah bands and brass music, Bavarian food including bratwurst, schnitzel and pretzels, Local artists and live entertainment, Fairground rides and games, Competitions, dancing and karaoke, Fully stocked bars.


Wednesday 21st October – Brush Party

Friday 27th – Sunday 29th November – Christmas in Hertford

A magical festive weekend, featuring the Hertford Town Christmas Gala and the Hertford Castle Christmas Market. There Is festive fun for all the family, plus the perfect chance to do your Christmas shopping in beautiful surroundings. Visitors can enjoy fairground rides, Christmas carollers on Parliament Square and live entertainment on the stage in Salisbury Square from 4.30pm, leading up to the Christmas Lights Switch-On at 6pm with the Mayor of Hertford.

From Friday 27th – Sunday 29th November, the beautiful Castle grounds will be transformed into a traditional Christmas market filled with charming stalls selling homeware, crafts, jewellery, gifts and much more, perfect for festive shopping. Alongside shopping, visitors can also enjoy delicious food and drink, fairground rides and live entertainment throughout the weekend.

Monday 4th January – Baby Rhyme Time

These fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are a great opportunity for you to meet other families too. Baby Rhyme Time is free although donations are welcome. No booking required. For the comfort and safety of families we may have to limit numbers so entry to a session cannot be guaranteed. Thursday 7th January – Storytime

These interactive story sessions are perfect for pre-school children to enjoy with their parent/carer. Join in with a mix of picture book stories and rhymes. Wednesday 13th January – An evening with Liverpool Legends

Get ready for a night of laughs, banter, and legendary football stories as Liverpool icons John Barnes and Jan Mølby take the stage. From unforgettable goals and European nights to dressing-room gossip and cheeky rivalries, nothing is off-limits. Expect plenty of humour, mischief, and a live audience Q&A, where you can put your questions to the legends themselves, and maybe get a few surprises in return. This is football storytelling with a wink, a nudge, and a whole lot of Liverpool charm, a night to remember for fans, laughter-lovers, and anyone who enjoys a brilliant story told live. Sunday 24th January – James Bond Concert

Widely considered to be the finest orchestral performance of James Bond music since the originals, this show brings the globally renowned franchise to life in a thrilling, adrenaline-fueled production.
