Casual meet up of people to do knitting or crochet while having a natter along the way, at Oxhey Library, Bridlington Road, South Oxhey, WD19 7AG. Thursdays from 10am – 11am.
Saturday 25th May – Saturday Singing Circle
This great group supporting those living with dementia,, meet every Saturday afternoon from 2pm – 4pm. At The Clitheroe Centre, Clitheroe Gardens, South Oxhey, WD19 6RP. With songs and memory games and refreshments.
Sunday 26th May – Gardening Fair
Come and join this fair on Sunday 26th May from 9am – 2pm, there will be children activities, Eco friendly goods, local food vendors and more. At Carpenders Park Community Hall, Station Footpath / Gibbs Couch, Watford, WD19 5EG.
Sunday 26th May – Open Day
Join The Forties Experiences for their public open day on Sunday 26th May from 10.30am – 4pm. You do not need to prebook. Come and see their 1940s rooms and play with their collection of 1940s toys and games. Experience a WW2 jeep ride and a guided tour of a bombed out street scene with their air raid warden, and much more. At 29 Lincoln Field, Bushey Hall Drive, Bushey, WD23 2ES.
This month, there is also a tea dance taking place in the tin gym. Join Swingsters for a lovely afternoon of social dancing from 2pm – 5pm. The tea dance has a separate entrance fee to be paid at the entrance to the tin gym and includes complimentary tea and cake.
Monday 27th May – Over 50’s Badminton
Take it at your own pace, enjoy the social aspect, meet new people and above all, stay healthy and moving. Do not worry if you d0 not have a racket, everything you need will be provided. Tuesday 28th – Friday 31st May – Elms Activity Camps
This camp provides superb activity camps for children aged 5-11 years, offering exciting, safe and action-packed Camps. They offer a range of sports and activities at Ashfield Junior School, School Lane, Bushey, WD23 1SR. Tuesday 28th – Friday 31st May. Open to all children from the local area aged 5-11 years.
Saturday 1st June – Family D-Day Celebration
Watford Rural Parish Council are putting on their Summer Family Fun Day a bit earlier this year to join with the nation in celebrating the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. They will have a 1940’s live singer and prizes for the best Fancy Dress (for children, though Adults are welcome to join in) as well as all the usual children’s fairground rides and games. All proceeds collected go to The Royal British Legion and the local Food bank. Saturday 1st June from 11am – 3pm, at Market Square, South Oxhey, WD19 7EU (opposite Tesco)
Saturday 1st June – Compassionate Cafe
A drop-in session, in partnership with Red Trust Bushey. It provides a space for members of our community who have been affected by any type of loss and would like to come along for a friendly chat and a chance to meet others over a cup of tea. Saturday 8th June – Summer Fayre
The Oxhey Village Summer Fayre will be back for its 48th edition on Saturday 8th June from 1pm. There will be dozens of stalls, Food and drink, entertainment, fun and games. At Oxhey Village Green, Lower Paddock Road, WD19 4GU.
Tuesday 11th June – Baby Fair
Baby Fair events are for expectant parents or parents of a child under 1 year, bringing together everything you need to give your baby the best start. If you are pregnant, meet other expectant parents and pick up some pre-loved baby clothes. Tuesday 11th June from 1pm – 3pm. At The Bushey Centre, High Street, Bushey, WD23 1TT.

Saturday 15th June – Watford Pride Picnic
Watford Pride Picnic is the first event of it’s kind in Watford, organised by Impactful Lives. It is a free event, just bring a picnic and they will provide the entertainment. St Meryl School in Carpenders Park, The Mead, WD19 5BT are hosting a Summer Fete on Saturday 29th June from 12 noon – 3pm. There will be games, inflatables, stalls, refreshments and more.

Bushey Festival are delighted to announce they are returning to Bushey Rose Garden again at this summers festival for an afternoon of music and they are thrilled that it has been chosen to be part of Hertsmere’s Golden Anniversary (that’s 50 years). A fun and entertaining time for kids who love trains. With over 500 feet of Track and over 100 Thomas and his friends trains to choose from. Kids will be raving about the experience for a long time . Sunday 7th July – Festival in the Park
Free entertainment for all the family on Sunday 7th July from 1pm – 9pm. This year’s festival will culminate with their Festival In The Park. At the King George Recreation Ground.
Thursday 12th September – Karate Club
New karate club starting in September at St Peter’s Church, Bushey High Street. They are experienced and fully certified instructors, safeguarding DBS certified, and first aid trained. Together with their Blue Light Card special offer for the heroes in the community
