Thursday 25th June – CompassionART Café
Held at Oxhey Library, Bridlington Road, South Oxhey, WD19 7AG, run in partnership with Three Rivers District Council Healthy Hub. This CompassionART Café will take place on the last Thursday of every month from 1.30pm – 3pm. CompassionART Cafés are drop-in sessions that provide a safe space for people to come together and express themselves through art. They are aimed at anyone who has experienced bereavement, and those who might be lonely due to illness. The sessions include a guided arts and crafts activity and provide a safe space to chat and connect with others, share memories and create lasting connections over a cup of tea.

Thursday 25th June – Hertfordshire Health Walks
Free summer evening walks at Oxhey Wood, meet new people and enjoy the many health and wellbeing benefits walking provides. Thursday from 7.30pm. Next is 9th July.

Thursday 25th June – Weekly Quiz
Bring your friends, test your knowledge, and enjoy a great night of fun, drinks, and competition. Entry: £2 per person, every Thursday from 8pm – 10pm, at The Red Lion, High Street, Bushey, WD23 3HN. Until at least April 2027.

Saturday 27th June – South Oxhey Parkrun
A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event, every Saturday from 9am. The event takes place at South Oxhey Playing Fields, Green Lane, WD19 4LT. Every week they grab a post parkrun coffee at the pop up cafe at the finish line. For further information click here

An evening of delightfully whimsical music from three living British composers. Bob Chilcott’s engaging Aesop’s Fables, the
very un-Christmassy John Rutter’s Sprig of Thyme a folk song cycle of traditional songs from our native lands and Kerry Andrew’s fascinating Rhymes and Charms for Flyaway Things. Bushey’s All Year Round Car Boot Sale is on Sundays from 6am – 1pm. At Little Bushey Lane, Bushey, WD25 8JS, (behind Costco). Weather permitting. Fabulous food and refreshments on site.

Sunday 28th June – King George Junior Parkrun

Sunday 28th June – South Oxhey Market
Every Sunday from 9.30am – 3.30pm the South Oxhey Market, is proudly organised by Watford Rural Parish Council. The market is more than just a shopping destination, it is a social hub, a place where neighbours meet, families gather, and friendships grow. Set against the lively backdrop of our parish, it’s where the community comes alive every Sunday. The market brings together an ever-growing selection of local traders offering everything from fresh produce and handcrafted goods to world cuisine and unique finds you will not see on the high street. Supporting the market means supporting local business owners, creative artisans, and hardworking food vendors. This market is not being run for profit. Watford Rural Parish Council is committed to creating a welcoming space for the community to enjoy and for traders to thrive. Any money raised goes directly back into running and improving the market, supporting local initiatives, and building something sustainable for the long term.

Sunday 28th June – The Forties Experience
Come and see a 1940s rooms and play with a collection of 1940s toys and games. Visit a military museum and Dig for Victory garden. Pop into the Airman’s Club to see a live band “The Mustangs” and pay a visit to South West Herts Model Railway Club to see what they are working on. Experience a guided tour of a bombed out street scene with an air raid warden and take a ride in a WW2 Jeep. Period attire is welcomed, so come along and experience a trip back to the Forties. The 20th anniversary of the Bushey and Oxhey Beer and Cider festival will take place Thursday 2nd – Sunday 5th July. With live music, BBQ, and more. At The Three Crowns, High Road, Bushey, WD23 1EA.

Saturday 4th July – Summer Fete
As well as activities such as food, beverages, BBQ, plant stall and the Military Wives Choir at 12 noon, they hope to have Tower Tours and Bell Ringing demonstrations after the Recital ends at 1pm and again at 2pm. Saturday 4th July – Summer Fun Day
Watford Rural Parish Council invites you to their Summer Fun Day at Oxhey Wood Primary School, Oxhey Drive, WD19 7SL. Get up close with friendly animals including ponies, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens, perfect for younger visitors. 140ft Inflatable Obstacle Course, with tunnels, climbing walls, bish bash sections, rollers, curves and a slide. Funfair favourites including rockets, teacups, bumper cars and bungee trampolines. Plus face painters, balloon artist, football darts and games, burgers, Pizza and hot dogs available. All proceeds will go towards Dig Deep Community Project and Oxhey Jets Youth. Saturday 4th July from 11am – 3pm. Free entry.

Saturday 4th July – Kopy Katz
The Fabulous Kopy Katz return to Bushey as part of the 2026 Bushey Festival. Join them in the ‘tent’ at the Horse and Chains High Street, Bushey, WD23 1BL, for a great evening of Rockabilly. Remember to pack your dancing shoes. Entry by donation, all proceeds to Bushey Festival. Saturday 4th July from 7.30pm.

Wednesday 8th July – Walking Group
A monthly themed walking group, you can join in with the theme as much or as little as you want or just come along for a stroll and a chat. All walks start and finish at Bushey Library, Sparrows Herne, WD23 1FA. No need to book. Ask in the library for more details. Free event but donations welcome. Second Wednesday of the month from 2pm.

Thursday 9th July – Parkinson’s Pals
Parkinson’s Pals Bushey meets on the second Thursday of the month from 2.30pm – 4pm. Make new friends, share experiences and receive support from others living with or affected by Parkinson’s in a welcoming space. Refreshments will be provided. Thursday 9th July – Brush Party

Saturday 11th July – Watford Mencap Inclusive: Sustainable Fashion Show
Watford Mencap is proud to announce its first-ever Inclusive Sustainable Fashion Show, taking place on Saturday 11th July from 6pm – 9pm at the Sacred Heart of Jesus and St John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church Hall, London Road, Bushey, WD23 1BA. Held as part of Helping Herts Week and Bushey Festival, the event will celebrate inclusion, confidence and sustainability, while showcasing the incredible community that makes Watford Mencap so special. The fashion show will feature a unique catwalk experience with models made up of Watford Mencap clients, staff members and supporters, all modelling outfits sourced from Watford Mencap’s charity shop on Bushey High Street. The event aims to highlight both the value of sustainable fashion and the talents, personalities and achievements of people with learning disabilities. Visitors can expect an evening filled with fashion, community spirit and entertainment, alongside a bar, stalls and raffle. Funds raised through the event will help Watford Mencap continue providing vital services and opportunities for local people with learning disabilities and their families. To book click here

Sunday 12th July – Bushey Festival Finale
This year’s Festival Finale will be on Sunday 12th July in the beautiful Bushey Rose Garden, High Street, Bushey, WD23 3HH. Expect an afternoon and evening of fun with children’s entertainment from Fizzkids, dance performances and live music from Bushey Ukes, Station 54, Vinikoff and more.

Tuesday 14th July – Mums’ Walk and Talk
Hello Baby is hosting a Walk and Talk for mums with babies up to 12 months old in Bushey. They will be meeting in King George Recreation Ground, Bushey, by the front of the cafe, looking out towards the playground, for a gentle walk. Wednesday 15th July – Singing for the Brain
Home Instead Watford have teamed up with Alzheimer’s Society to provide ‘Singing for the Brain’ sessions which will be hosted at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home, High Street, Bushey, WD23 1QN. This will be a fun session aimed at those living with dementia or other neurological and memory conditions such as Parkinson’s, MND and Stroke. It will be held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 11am, so come along and bring your voice with you.

Saturday 18th July – Litter Pick
Litter picks and bags provided, more than welcome to bring your own litter picks if you have them, in addition to gloves. Meet up at the Carpenders Park Community Hall, Station Footpath/Gibbs Couch, WD19 5EG from 10am, for a 10.30 start, aiming to be back at the hall for around 12 noon. Participants usually concentrate on their own roads, or known hotspots, it is a relaxed event. Saturday 18th July.

Saturday 25th July – Hello Baby Pregnancy Club
Hello Baby Pregnancy Club is open to all pregnant women in the local area. These events are a great opportunity to meet other mums-to-be and hear from guest speakers and experts. Pregnancy Club is free to attend but booking is essential. The majority of attendees purchase a drink / brunch. Saturday 1st August – Fun Day
Face Painting with Fairytale Faces, Stocks, kids games and colouring, killer pool, Darts competition, Labour Club Bake Off, bake at home sweet or savoury and bring in for them to judge, Quiz, £5 Bingo. Thursday 13th August – Fun In The Park
A free event for the whole family in your local park. Come and join an afternoon in the park with Inflatables fun and lots more. Fun In The Park will be in Bushey King George Park, on Thursday 13th August from 12 noon – 3pm. You only need to book your tickets for children, which are free but any donation will go a long, long way to help to continue Park Events bringing you all of their events throughout the year.

Thursday 3rd September – Older Persons Activity, Learning and Safety
Older persons activity, learning and safety (OPALS) events are sociable, seated events where you can get quality advice and help on a wide range of services available. As well as giving reassuring safety and wellbeing support, the event includes an opportunity to meet other residents in your area, safety related freebies and representatives from a variety of agencies giving advice on the services they offer. Wednesday 16th September – Quiz for Cause
Join Metropolitan Bushey, Aldenham Road, Bushey, WD23 2TR, for their first Quiz for Cause, an exciting and interactive evening dedicated to raising funds for the West Hert’s Hospitals Charity, Caring for Generations Appeal. This important cause supports hospitals across Watford, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, and the physiotherapy unit at Jacketts Field, helping provide enhanced patient care beyond what NHS funding alone can offer. For £16 per person, guests will enjoy a delicious meal alongside a lively, fully interactive quiz experience. A fast-paced, app-based speed quiz featuring six engaging rounds: general knowledge, TV & film, music, picture logos, strategy challenges, and interactive pinpoint questions. Max team 6. Friday 25th September – Macmillan Coffee Morning
Join Metropolitan Bushey, Aldenham Road, Bushey, WD23 2TR, in Monty’s Bar and Kitchen for Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. It is the perfect excuse to catch up family and friends for a coffee, scrumptious cake and sweet treats, and support this fantastic charity. As usual, they will be running a raffle with fantastic prizes and simple games, so bring some cash to play and donate. Friday 25th September from 10am – 12 noon.

Thursday 29th October – Spooky Family Magic Show
Join Magic Kurtis for a spooktacular Family Halloween Magic Show filled with spine-tingling tricks, mind-boggling illusions, and Halloween fun for all ages. Watch as the mysterious magician conjures up jaw-dropping feats, disappearing acts, and eerie surprises that will leave you in awe. Kids and parents alike will be enchanted by the blend of comedy, magic, and just the right amount of spooky thrills. Dress up in your favourite costume and join a morning of family-friendly Halloween disco and magical fun. Saturday 28th November – Santa the Panto
Santa the Panto is coming to the Labour Club, Henbury Way, South Oxhey, WD19 7AP, on Saturday 28th November from 7pm – 8pm. £9 ticket. Only 80 tickets available. This is a first for them to hire a professional touring Panto. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Not to be missed.
