Monday 22nd June – Open Mic Night
Held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each Month, this bi-weekly open mic night for musicians is held in the cosy indoor Snug room of Fishery Wharf, Fishery Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1NA. Doors open for food and drinks at 6pm and they start at 7pm so come early and get your name down and find yourself a good seat or just come and enjoy the musical talents of their local music scene. Wednesday 24th June – Bingo Night

Friday 26th June – Wine Down Friday
Wine Down Friday at the Green Man, Leverstock Green Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 8QE. Sip and relax with their selection of bottles of wine and fizz starting from just £16 all day long from 11am. Whether you are winding down after a long week or looking to kick off the weekend in style, this event is the perfect way to unwind.

Saturday 27th June – Gadebridge Parkrun
A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog or run. The event takes place at Gadebridge Park, Leighton Buzzard Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 3AQ. Saturday 27th June – Armed Forces Day
A fun, family friendly celebration of Dacorum Armed Forces Day. This free event is an opportunity to show support for our Armed Forces community while enjoying an afternoon of entertainment, activities and great food. Arena displays and performances throughout the day. Birds of Prey demonstrations. Home Guard Foot Drill display, Swing dancing lessons. A selection of craft stalls, local charity organisations, interactive activities and a range of food vendors. Bring your family, meet the community and enjoy a great day out in the heart of Hemel Hempstead. Come to Leverstock Green CofE Primary School, Green Lane, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 4SA, for their summer fair. With mobile farm, and lots of stalls, plus bouncy castle, fire engine, coconut shy, tombola’s and more. Saturday 27th June from 1pm – 3pm.

Sunday 28th June – Playskill Colour Run
A family-friendly colour run in aid of Playskill, raising vital funds for local children with physical disabilities. A fun 5K distance, with added colour. Plus a wheelchair accessible route available, incorporated in the main route. Alongside the run will be family fun day activities, including fete-style games, tombola and refreshments. All colour run participants will receive a medal and sunglasses. Fun and laughter while making a big impact for local families. Saturday 4th July – Repair Cafe
Repair cafe where skilled individuals volunteer their tools and materials to help fix cherished items that are no longer functional or are damaged. There are a variety of items that can be fixed for free or at little cost, such as a bicycle’s broken chain, a worn-out teddy bear, a toaster that fails to pop up and more. Saturday 4th July – Sunnyside Arts Fair

Saturday 4th July – FlaundenFest26
Join a day of live music, great food, and a relaxing atmosphere, all whilst raising money for charity. Enjoy fantastic local live bands, sample the best in festival cuisine whilst enjoying an alcoholic beverage if you wish. Sunday 5th July – Hemel Old Town Market
This vibrant and popular market is held on the first Sunday of every month from 11am – 3pm. The market stalls will be located in St Marys Square, Under the Arches next to The Old Town Hall, in St Mary’s Church Hall and on the grassy area surrounding St Marys Church. Dacorum Borough Council restrict the traffic on market day so the High Street is closed to traffic between 10am – 4pm. If you are a blue badge holder, please show this to the gate operatives and they will allow you access. Pedestrian access to the market is unrestricted. There are plenty of car parks within a 2 minute walk of the market grounds. The public toilets in the High Street and in St Mary’s Church Hall will be open on the day.

Sunday 5th July – Record Fair
Whether you are a seasoned collector or just starting out, you have the chance to have a good look through thousands of vinyl records, CDs and collectibles from a wealth of dealers all under one roof. From reggae to heavy metal, soul to glam rock there will be something for everyone on sale. Tuesday 7th July – Tea and Friends

Thursday 9th July – Paint your own Pottery
A relaxed, creative evening at Ye Olde Red Lion, London Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 9TD, where you can paint your own pottery and create something completely unique. No experience needed, all materials, equipment and guidance provided. Your finished piece will be glazed and fired, ready to collect in approximately two weeks, delivery can be arranged for a minimal, additional fee. Saturday 11th July – Hemel Symphony Orchestra
Hemel Symphony Orchestra final concert of the season is A Romantic Journey featuring music by Weber, Beethoven and Brahms. Conductor: Claudio Di Meo. Soloist: Gonzalo Acosta. Leader: Clive Hobday. Their programme includes Weber: Der Freischutz Overture. Beethoven: Violin Concerto and Brahms: Symphony No.3. Their bar will be open for wine and soft drinks before the event, and at the interval. Tuesday 14th July – Green Fingers Afternoon Club

Wednesday 15th July – Charity Abseiling
In partnership with Dacorum Borough Council and Bugler Developments, this unique event challenges you to step outside your comfort zone and abseil 60 feet down the striking new Paradise Depot development in the heart of Hemel Hempstead. By taking on this thrill-seeking fundraising challenge, you will be doing something extraordinary to support local people facing homelessness, poverty and social exclusion. The development will provide 56 new homes for social rent alongside the brand-new DENS Centre, a welcoming hub offering vital support, advice and a pathway forward for those in need. Wednesday 15th July – CompassionART Café
For anyone who has experienced bereavement, and those that might be lonely due to illness. There will be a range of art activities on offer and a chance to meet others over a cuppa. This free CompassionART Café will take place on the third Wednesday of the month from 2pm – 3.30pm. No need to book, just drop in. Friday 17th – Sunday 19th July – Beer Festival
Hemel Old Town Beer Festival is an exciting event based at the historic St. Mary’s Church, situated in the heart of Hemel Hempstead Old Town. The grounds of St. Mary’s enjoy vista views of Gadebridge Park, with the church itself offering a unique venue as the town’s oldest building. With over thirty quality beers and ciders on offer, attendees of Hemel Old Town Beer Festival are treated to artisan drinks from local producers and national stars from further afield. Beers and ciders are complimented by guest speakers, tasting sessions, live music and a sumptuous street food offering. Held across the weekend of Friday 17th – Sunday 19th July. The Friday and Saturday sessions will open 12 noon 10.30pm, and on Sunday 12 noon – 6pm. Both Friday and Saturday are adult only events, as such admittance will be granted to those over-18 only. This will be a valuable opportunity for residents, families and friends to learn more about fire safety, home safety and the important role that firefighters play. Sunday 25th October – Old Town Spooktacular
This large community event celebrates the Hemel Hempstead Old Town High Street, working in partnership with local businesses, St Mary’s Church, Community Action Dacorum and the Old Town Hall. Expect entertainment throughout the site, a fancy dress competition for all ages and a fantastic fireworks display at 7.30pm.
