Saturday 21st December – Christmas crafts
Come along to St Albans Library, The Maltings, St Albans, AL1 3JQ, to take part in some Christmas crafts. They will be creating large joint effort gingerbread house on the wall. This craft is simple and fun and open to all ages. Saturday 21st December from 10.30am – 1.30pm, a drop in session.
Saturday 21st December – Christmas Storytime
Come along to St Albans Library, The Maltings, St Albans, AL1 3JQ, for some festive stories on Saturday 21st December and Monday 23 December from 2.15pm – 2.45pm. All of their Storytime sessions are free, but donations are gratefully accepted.
Sunday 22nd December – Farmers’ Market
Harpenden Farmers’ Market takes place on the 4th Sunday of the month from 10am – 2pm and is run and organised by Harpenden Town Council. The Farmers’ Market accommodates approximately 70 stalls and each market finds a huge selection of produce available.
Saturday 28th December – St Albans Parkrun
A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event, every Saturday from 9am. The event takes place at Verulamium Park, St. Albans. For further information click here

IT Champions offer one-to-one support, problem-solving, and online safety advice for users of the library computers and WiFi. Every Thursday from 10am – 12 noon, at Harpenden Library, 27 High Street, Harpenden, AL5 2RU.
Thursday 2nd January – Baby Rhyme Time
Fun, half hour sessions of songs and rhymes are perfect for helping your child to learn language skills and are an opportunity for you to meet other families too. Every Thursday from 10.30am, at Marshalswick Library, The Baton, The Ridgeway, St Albans, AL4 9TU.
Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd January – Multi-Activity Holiday Camp
The Apex Multi-Activity Holiday Camps at Sauncey Wood Primary School, Pickford Hill, Harpenden, AL5 5HL are fun-filled and action-packed. Children will be enjoying a variety of sports games, team building challenges, inflatables, battlezone and much more! The camp is for 5-12 year old’s and core activities run from 9am – 4pm. A chance for people to chat and knit, stitch, sew or craft, over a tea or coffee. At St Albans Library, Level 2, The Maltings, St Albans, AL1 3JQ. Every Friday from 2pm – 3.30pm.

Sunday 5th January – Vegan Market
The St Albans Vegan Market event takes over St Peter’s Street, right in the centre of the city and where the Charter and Farmer’s Markets operate, throughout the year. The event brings together a huge variety of vegan street food vendors, artisan bakers, craft brewers, ethical jewellers, sustainable chandlers, local artists, zero-waste champions, environmental charities and loads more. Sunday 5th January from 10.30am – 4pm. Future dates 6th April, 6th July, 7th September and 2nd November 2025.
Monday 6th January – Coffee Morning

Monday 6th January – Memory Cafe
The Harpenden Memory Lane Café is open every Monday from 2pm – 3.30pm (with the exception of Bank Holidays) at The Salvation Army on Leyton Green in Harpenden. Come along and enjoy a cup of tea and slice of cake. They have a full programme of enjoyable activities for anyone who would like to join in, or if you would rather just enjoy refreshments and a chat you are just as welcome.
Tuesday 7th January – Harpenden Intergenerational Choir
Enjoy the benefits of singing at this welcoming group, a choir for all, regardless of ability. Whether you are an experienced singer or simply prefer to hum along, everyone is welcome. Tuesdays from 12.45pm – 1.30pm. At The Salvation Army on Leyton Green in Harpenden.
Wednesday 8th January – Chatter and Natter
Chatter and Natter tables are where customers can sit if they are happy to talk to other customers, often a volunteer normally hosts. At The Queen of Herts, 71 High Street, Redbourn, St Albans, AL3 7LW, Wednesdays from 11am – 1pm. Pop along between these times to attend a chatty table session.
Wednesday 8th January – Board Games for Adults
Board Games Group every Wednesday from 1pm – 3pm. Friendly drop-in session, no experience required, come and learn a new game, at Hatfield Library, White Lion Square, 26-32 Town Centre, Hatfield, AL10 0LD.
Friday 10th January – Compassionate Cafe
Compassionate Cafés are a place where people who have experienced a loss, such as a bereavement, can pop in for a cuppa, a cake, and a friendly person to talk to. It provides a safe environment for individuals to come together, have a friendly chat, and connect with others who may share similar experiences. Second Friday of each month from 2.30pm – 4pm, at Jersey Farm Café, Jersey Farm Community Centre, 3 St. Brelades Pl, St Albans, AL4 9RG.

Tuesday 14th January – Baby and Child First Aid
This two hour class is perfect for anyone that has a baby or child and wants to learn some basic first aid skills without being overwhelmed with technical information. The session empowers parents/expectant parents/grandparents and carers and gives you the confidence to act fast in an emergency. Tuesday 28th January – Compassionate Cafe
Compassionate Cafés are drop-in sessions in a local venue or with a local partner. They provide a space for members of our community who have been affected by any type of loss and would like to come along for a friendly chat and a chance to meet others over a cup of tea. Last Tuesday of each month from 10.30am – 12.30pm, at Cottonmill Community Café, Cottonmill Community & Cycling Centre, Cottonmill Lane, St. Albans, AL1 2EF.

Johns’ Boys Welsh Male Choir have gathered millions of new followers since appearing on the live shows of Britain’s Got Talent. Johns’ Boys brings a ground breaking, modern twist to the traditional Welsh Male Voice Choir. Do not miss the breath taking covers of Calum Scott’s Biblical and Harry Styles’ Falling plus modern twists on well known classics, like their stunning take on the famous Welsh hymn tune ‘Calon Lan’.
